Hosea 4
1 Hear the word of Jehovah, ye sons of Israel! For Jehovah hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land; For there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
Ακούσατε τον λόγον του Κυρίου, υιοί Ισραήλ· διότι ο Κύριος έχει κρίσιν μετά των κατοίκων της γης, επειδή δεν υπάρχει αλήθεια ουδέ έλεος ουδέ γνώσις Θεού επί της γης.
2 Perjury, and falsehood, and murder, And theft, and adultery have broken forth, And blood reacheth to blood.
Επιορκία και ψεύδος και φόνος και κλοπή και μοιχεία επλημμύρησαν, και αίματα εγγίζουσιν επί αίματα.
3 Therefore shall the land mourn, And every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, Together with the beasts of the forest, and the birds of heaven; Yea, even the fishes of the sea shall perish.
Διά τούτο θέλει πενθήσει η γη, και πας ο κατοικών εν αυτή θέλει λιποψυχήσει, μετά των θηρίων του αγρού και μετά των πετεινών του ουρανού· έτι και οι ιχθύες της θαλάσσης θέλουσιν εκλείψει.
4 Yet let no man rebuke, and let no man reprove; For thy people are like those that contend with the priest,
Πλην ας μη αντιλέγη μηδείς μηδ' ας ελέγχη τον άλλον· διότι ο λαός σου είναι ως οι αντιλέγοντες εις τον ιερέα.
5 Therefore shalt thou Fall by day, And the prophet shall fall with thee by night, And I will destroy thy mother.
Διά τούτο θέλεις ολισθήσει την ημέραν, και μετά σου θέλει ολισθήσει και ο προφήτης την νύκτα, και θέλω αφανίσει την μητέρα σου.
6 My people is destroyed for lack of knowledge; Since thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, so that thou shalt no more be my priest; Since thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children.
Ο λαός μου ηφανίσθη δι' έλλειψιν γνώσεως· επειδή συ απέρριψας την γνώσιν και εγώ απέρριψα σε από του να ιερατεύης εις εμέ· επειδή ελησμόνησας τον νόμον του Θεού σου, και εγώ θέλω λησμονήσει τα τέκνα σου.
7 As they have become great, so have they sinned against me; I will change their glory into shame.
Καθώς επλήθυναν, ούτως ημάρτησαν εις εμέ· την δόξαν αυτών εις ατιμίαν θέλω μεταβάλει.
8 They feed upon the sins of my people, And incline their hearts to their iniquity.
Τρώγουσι τας αμαρτίας του λαού μου και έχουσι προσηλωμένην την ψυχήν αυτών εις την ανομίαν αυτών.
9 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; I will punish them for their ways, And requite them for their doings.
Διά τούτο θέλει είσθαι, καθώς ο λαός, ούτω και ο ιερεύς· και θέλω επισκεφθή επ' αυτούς τας οδούς αυτών και ανταποδώσει εις αυτούς τας πράξεις αυτών.
10 They shall eat and shall not be satisfied; They shall commit fornication, and shall not increase, For they have left off giving heed to Jehovah.
Διότι θέλουσι τρώγει και δεν θέλουσι χορτάζεσθαι, θέλουσι πορνεύει και δεν θέλουσι πληθύνεσθαι· επειδή εγκατέλιπον το να λατρεύωσι τον Κύριον.
11 Fornication and wine and new wine take away the understanding;
Πορνεία και οίνος και μέθη αφαιρούσι την καρδίαν.
12 My people ask counsel of their stocks, And their staff revealeth to them. For the spirit of fornication causeth them to err; Yea, they commit fornication, forsaking their God.
Ο λαός μου ερωτά τα ξύλα αυτού, και η ράβδος αυτού αποκρίνεται προς αυτόν· διότι το πνεύμα της πορνείας επλάνησεν αυτούς και επόρνευσαν εκκλίνοντες από του Θεού αυτών.
13 On the tops of the mountains they sacrifice, And on the hills they burn incense, Under the oak, and the poplar, and the terebinth, Because their shade is pleasant. Therefore your daughters commit fornication, And your daughters-in-law commit adultery;
Θυσιάζουσιν επί τας κορυφάς των ορέων και θυμιάζουσιν επί τους λόφους, υπό τας δρυς και λεύκας και τερεβίνθους, διότι η σκιά αυτών είναι καλή διά τούτο αι θυγατέρες σας θέλουσι πορνεύσει και αι νύμφαι σας θέλουσι μοιχεύσει.
14 I will not punish your daughters, when they commit fornication, Nor your daughters-in-law, when they commit adultery; For ye yourselves go aside with harlots, And sacrifice with prostitutes; Therefore the people that hath not understanding shall fall.
Δεν θέλω τιμωρήσει τας θυγατέρας σας όταν πορνεύσωσιν ουδέ τας νύμφας σας όταν μοιχεύσωσι, διότι αυτοί αποχωρίζονται μετά των πορνών και θυσιάζουσι μετά των ασελγών· διά τούτο ο λαός ο ασύνετος θέλει κατακρημνισθή.
15 Though thou play the harlot, O Israel, Yet let not Judah offend! Come ye not to Gilgal, Neither go ye up to Bethaven. And swear ye not, saying, As Jehovah liveth!
Εάν συ, Ισραήλ, πορνεύης, τουλάχιστον ας μη ανομήση ο Ιούδας· μη υπάγετε λοιπόν εις Γάλγαλα μηδ' αναβαίνετε εις Βαιθ-αυέν μηδέ ομνύετε, Ζη ο Κύριος.
16 For like a refractory heifer is Israel become refractory, Therefore will Jehovah feed them, like a lamb in a wide place.
Διότι ο Ισραήλ απεσκίρτησεν ως δάμαλις αποσκιρτώσα· τώρα θέλει βοσκήσει αυτούς ο Κύριος ως αρνία εν τόπω πλατεί.
17 Ephraim is joined to idols; Let him alone!
Ο Εφραΐμ προσεκολλήθη εις τα είδωλα· αφήσατε αυτόν.
18 When their carousal is over, They give themselves up to lasciviousness; Their rulers love shame.
Το ποτόν αυτών ωξύνισεν· όλως εδόθησαν εις την πορνείαν· οι υπερασπισταί αυτής ω της αισχύνης, αγαπώσι το Δότε.
19 The wind hath bound them up with its wings, And they shall be brought to shame on account of their sacrifices.
Ο άνεμος θέλει συσφίγξει αυτήν εν ταις πτέρυξιν αυτού, και θέλουσι καταισχυνθή διά τας θυσίας αυτών.
