Hosea 3

1 And Jehovah said to me, Go again, love a woman that is loved by another, and is an adulteress; even as Jehovah loveth the sons of Israel, who turn themselves to other gods, and love raisin-cakes.

याहवेह ने मुझसे कहा, “जाओ, और अपना प्रेम अपनी पत्नी को फिर से दिखाओ, यद्यपि उसे कोई और पुरुष प्रेम करता है और वह एक व्यभिचारिणी है. उससे ऐसा प्रेम करो, जैसा याहवेह इस्राएलियों से प्रेम करते हैं, यद्यपि वे दूसरे देवताओं की ओर फिरकर पवित्र किशमिश की बट्टी से प्रेम रखते हैं.”

2 So I bought her for me for fifteen shekels of silver, and a homer and a half of barley.

इसलिये मैंने उसे पन्द्रह शेकेल चांदी और लगभग एक होमेर और एक लेथेक जौ में खरीद लिया.

3 And I said to her, Thou shalt wait for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be with any man; so will I also wait for thee.

तब मैंने उससे कहा, “तुम्हें मेरे साथ कई दिनों तक रहना है; तुम्हें वेश्या नहीं बनना है या किसी भी पुरुष के साथ अंतरंग संबंध नहीं बनाना है, और मैं भी तुम्हारे साथ ऐसा ही व्यवहार करूंगा.”

4 For the sons of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim.

क्योंकि इस्राएली लोग बहुत दिनों तक बिना राजा या राजकुमार, बिना बलि या पवित्र पत्थर, बिना एफ़ोद या गृह-देवताओं के रहेंगे.

5 Afterward shall the sons of Israel return, and seek Jehovah their God, and David their king, and turn with fear to Jehovah and his goodness in future times.

उसके बाद इस्राएली लोग लौटेंगे और याहवेह, अपने परमेश्वर तथा दावीद, अपने राजा की खोज करेंगे. वे आखिरी के दिनों में कांपते हुए याहवेह के पास और उसके आशीषों के लिये आएंगे.
