Hebrews 4
1 Let us then fear, since a promise is still left us of entering into his rest, lest any one of you should appear to fail of obtaining it.
Temamos pues, porque todavía tenemos la promesa de Dios de que podemos entrar en su descanso, debemos tener cuidado no sea que alguno de ustedes no puedan hacerlo.
2 For to us were glad tidings addressed, as well as to them; but the word which was heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.
Y, en verdad, las buenas nuevas vinieron a nosotros, como lo hizo con ellos; pero a ellos palabra no les sirvió de nada él oírlo, porque no estaban unidos en la fe con los que obedecieron el mensaje.
3 For we who believed enter into the rest, as he hath said: “So I swore in my wrath, they shall not enter into my rest;” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Porque aquellos de nosotros que tenemos creencia venimos a su descanso; Tal como Dios lo ha dicho: “como dije en mi juramento cuando estaba enojado, que no entrarían en mi descanso”: aunque las obras fueron hechas desde el tiempo de la creación del mundo.
4 For he hath spoken in a certain place of the seventh day thus: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works;”
Porque en un lugar él ha dicho del séptimo día, y “Dios descansó de todas sus obras en el séptimo día.”
5 and in this place again: “They shall not enter into my rest.”
Y en el mismo lugar dice otra vez: No entrarán en mi reposo.
6 Since then it still remaineth for some to enter into it, and they to whom the glad tidings of it were first brought did not enter in because of disobedience,
Viendo pues, que sigue la promesa y que faltan algunos de entrar, y que los primeros oyentes de las buenas nuevas no pudieron entrar porque no creyeron,
7 he again appointeth a certain day, “To-day”—saying in David so long a time after, as hath before been said—”To-day, if ye hear his voice, harden not your hearts.”
Otra vez, Dios determina un día, nombrando de nuevo un cierto día, dice en David, hoy (como lo había dicho antes), hoy si permites que su voz llegue a tus oídos, no seas duro de corazón,
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not after this be speaking of another day.
Porque si Josué les hubiera dado descanso, no habría dicho nada acerca de otro día.
9 There remaineth therefore a sabbath-rest to the people of God.
De modo que todavía hay un sábado para el pueblo de Dios.
10 For he that hath entered into his rest, hath himself rested from his works, as God did from his own.
Porque el hombre que entra en reposo ha descansado de sus obras, como Dios lo hizo de las suyas.
11 Let us then strive to enter into that rest, that no one may fall, as a like example of disobedience.
Debido a esto, tengamos la diligencia de entrar en ese reposo, y no dejemos que nadie vaya tras el ejemplo de aquellos que fueron en contra de las órdenes de Dios.
12 For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, both the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart;
Porque la palabra de Dios es viviente y está llena de poder, y es más cortante que cualquier espada de dos filos, cortando y haciendo una división incluso del alma y el espíritu, las coyunturas y los tuétanos, y rápida para ver los pensamientos y Propósitos del corazón.
13 and there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight; but all things are naked and laid open to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Y no hay nada hecho que no esté del todo claro ante él; no hay nada cubierto, pero todas las cosas están desnudas y abiertas a los ojos de aquel a quien tenemos que dar cuentas.
14 Since, then, we have a great high-priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Y viendo que tenemos un sumo sacerdote, que ha entrado a los cielos, Jesús, el Hijo de Dios, por eso sigamos firmes en la Fe que profesamos.
15 For we have not a high-priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who hath in all points been tempted as we are, without sin.
Porque no tenemos un sumo sacerdote que no pueda ser compadecido por los sentimientos de nuestra carne débil; pero tenemos uno que ha sido probado en todos los puntos según nuestra semejanza ya que nosotros mismos hemos sido probados, pero sin pecado.
16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Entonces acerquémonos al trono de la gracia sin temor, para que se nos pueda dar misericordia, y podamos obtener gracia para nuestra ayuda en momentos de necesidad.
