Hebrews 4
1 Let us then fear, since a promise is still left us of entering into his rest, lest any one of you should appear to fail of obtaining it.
Temamos pois que, porventura, deixada a promessa de entrar no seu repouso, pareça que algum de vós fique atraz.
2 For to us were glad tidings addressed, as well as to them; but the word which was heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.
Porque tambem a nós nos foi evangelizado, como a elles, mas a palavra da prégação de nada lhes aproveitou, porquanto não estava misturada com a fé n'aquelles que a ouviram.
3 For we who believed enter into the rest, as he hath said: “So I swore in my wrath, they shall not enter into my rest;” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Porque nós, os que temos crido, entramos no repouso, como disse: Portanto jurei na minha ira que não entrarão no meu repouso: posto que já as suas obras estivessem acabadas desde a fundação do mundo
4 For he hath spoken in a certain place of the seventh day thus: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works;”
Porque em certo logar disse assim do dia setimo: E repousou Deus de todas as suas obras no setimo dia.
5 and in this place again: “They shall not enter into my rest.”
E outra vez n'este logar: Não entrarão no meu repouso.
6 Since then it still remaineth for some to enter into it, and they to whom the glad tidings of it were first brought did not enter in because of disobedience,
Visto pois, que resta que alguns entrem n'elle, e que aquelles a quem primeiro foi evangelizado, não entraram por causa da desobediencia,
7 he again appointeth a certain day, “To-day”—saying in David so long a time after, as hath before been said—”To-day, if ye hear his voice, harden not your hearts.”
Determina outra vez um certo dia, que chama Hoje, dizendo por David, muito tempo depois, como está dito: Hoje, se ouvirdes a sua voz, não endureçaes os vossos corações.
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not after this be speaking of another day.
Porque, se Josué lhes houvesse dado repouso, depois d'isso não fallaria de outro dia.
9 There remaineth therefore a sabbath-rest to the people of God.
Portanto resta ainda um repouso para o povo de Deus.
10 For he that hath entered into his rest, hath himself rested from his works, as God did from his own.
Porque, aquelle que entrou no seu repouso, tambem elle mesmo repousou de suas obras, como Deus das suas.
11 Let us then strive to enter into that rest, that no one may fall, as a like example of disobedience.
Procuremos pois entrar n'aquelle repouso, para que ninguem caia no mesmo exemplo de desobediencia.
12 For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, both the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart;
Porque a palavra de Deus é viva e efficaz, e mais penetrante do que espada alguma de dois gumes, e penetra até á divisão da alma e do espirito, e das junturas e medullas, e é apta para discernir os pensamentos e intenções do coração.
13 and there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight; but all things are naked and laid open to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
E não ha creatura alguma encoberta diante d'elle; antes todas as coisas estão nuas e patentes aos olhos d'aquelle com quem tratamos.
14 Since, then, we have a great high-priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Visto que temos um grande summo sacerdote Jesus, Filho de Deus, que penetrou nos céus, retenhamos firmemente a nossa confissão.
15 For we have not a high-priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who hath in all points been tempted as we are, without sin.
Porque não temos um summo sacerdote que não possa compadecer-se das nossas fraquezas; mas um que como nós, em tudo foi tentado, excepto no peccado.
16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Cheguemos pois com confiança ao throno da graça, para que possamos alcançar misericordia e achar graça, para sermos ajudados em tempo opportuno.
