Ezekiel 39

1 And do thou, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, prince of Resh, Meshech, and Tubal!

"You, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, 'Thus says Jehovah: "Look, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

2 I will turn thee, and lead thee about, and cause thee to come up from the regions of the North. and bring thee upon the mountains of Israel.

and I will turn you around, drag you along, and bring you up from the remotest parts of the north, and bring you against the mountains of Israel.

3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.

Then I will strike your bow out of your left hand, and will make your arrows fall from your right hand.

4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou and all thy hosts, and the nations that are with thee. To the ravenous birds of every wing, and to the beasts of the forest, give I thee to be devoured.

You will fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the people who are with you. I will give you to birds of prey of every king and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.

5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah.

You will fall in the open field; for I have spoken," says Jehovah.

6 And I will send a fire upon Magog, and upon them that dwell in security in the sea-coasts; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

And I will send a fire on Magog and on those who dwell securely in the coastlands; then they will know that I am Jehovah.

7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel, and I will not suffer my holy name to be polluted any more; and the nations shall

"'And I will make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel, and I will not allow my holy name to be profaned anymore. And the nations shall know that I am Jehovah, the Holy One in Israel.

8 know that I am Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel. Behold it cometh, and shall be done, saith the Lord Jehovah. This is the day of which I spake.

Look, it is coming and it will happen, says Jehovah. This is the day I have spoken about.

9 Then shall the inhabitants of the cities of Israel go forth, and set on fire and burn the weapons, the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, the hand-staves and the spears, and they shall make fires of them seven years.

"'Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel shall go out and make fires of the weapons and burn them, both the shields and bucklers, bows and the arrows, war clubs and spears, and they shall make fires of them for seven years,

10 They shall take no wood from the field, neither shall they cut down any from the forests; for they shall make their fires of the weapons. And they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and plunder those that plundered them, saith the Lord Jehovah.

so that they shall no need to take wood out of the field or gather firewood from the forests, because they shall make fires of the weapons; and they will take the spoil from those who despoiled them, and plunder those who plundered them, says Jehovah.

11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give to Gog a place there, a grave in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea; and it shall stop the way of passengers. There shall they bury Gog and all his multitude, and they shall call it “The valley of the multitude of Gog.”

"'And it shall happen on that day that I will give to Gog a place for burial in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers east of the sea; and it shall block the way of the travelers. So they shall bury Gog and all his multitude; and they shall call it The Valley of Hamon Gog.

12 And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying them, that they may cleanse the land.

For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse the land.

13 Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be renown to them, in the day when I shall be glorified, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Yes, all the people of the land shall bury them, and it shall be a memorial for them on the day that I show my glory, says Jehovah.

14 And they shall set apart men to be constantly employed, who, passing through the land, with the aid of those that pass by, shall bury those that remain upon the face of the land to cleanse it; at the end of the seven months shall they search.

And they shall designate men to travel through the land regularly, burying those who remain on the face of the land, in order to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they shall make a search.

15 And when any of the travellers that pass through the land shall see a man's bone, they shall set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of the multitude of Gog.

As they go through the land and anyone sees a human bone, he will put a marker next to it until the gravediggers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon Gog.

16 Also the name of a city shall be Multitude. Thus shall they cleanse the land.

Moreover, Hamonah will be the name of a city. Thus they shall cleanse the land.'

17 And thou, son of man, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Say to the birds of every wing, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves and come, gather yourselves from every side to my sacrifice which I make for you, a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel; and ye shall eat flesh and drink blood;

"And as for you, son of man, thus says Jehovah: Speak to every kind of bird and to all the wild animals, 'Assemble and come, gather from all around to my sacrifice which I am going to sacrifice for you, a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel, that you may eat flesh and drink blood.

18 the flesh of the mighty shall ye eat, and the blood of the princes of the earth shall ye drink, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatted in Bashan.

You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bulls, all of them fattened animals of Bashan.

19 And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I make for you.

And you shall eat fat until you are full, and drink blood until you are drunk, at my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.

20 Thus shall ye be filled at my table with horses and riders, and mighty men and warriors of all kinds, saith the Lord Jehovah.

And you shall be filled at my table with horses and charioteers, with warriors and with all the soldiers,' says Jehovah.

21 And I will set my glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see my judgment which I have executed, and my hand which I have laid upon them.

"'And I will set my glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see my judgment when I have executed it and my hand when I lay it on them.

22 And the house of Israel shall know that I am Jehovah, their God, from that day and forward.

So the house of Israel shall know that I am Jehovah their God, from that day on.

23 And the nations shall know that the house of Israel were carried into captivity for their iniquity. Because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies, so that they all fell by the sword.

And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they were unfaithful to me, so I hid my face from them, and I gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and all of them fell by the sword.

24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I dealt with them, and hid my face from them.

25 Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will bring back the captives of Jacob, and have compassion upon the whole house of Israel, and be jealous for my holy name.

"Therefore thus says Jehovah: 'Now will I restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for my holy name.

26 Then shall they forget their shame and all their trespasses with which they trespassed against me, when they dwell in security in their own land, and none maketh them afraid.

And they shall feel remorse for their disgrace and all the unfaithfulness they committed against me, when they dwell securely in their land with none to make them afraid.

27 When I bring them back from the nations, and gather them from the lands of their enemies, then will I be glorified in regard to them before the eyes of many nations.

When I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, then I will be sanctified through them in the sight of the many nations.

28 And they shall know that I am Jehovah their God, in that I caused them to be carried into captivity among the nations, and gathered them into their own land, and left none of them there.

Then they will know that I am Jehovah their God, because I sent them into exile among the nations, and then gathered them into their own land; and I will leave none of them there any more.

29 And I will hide my face from them no more; for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah.

And I will no longer hide my face from them, when I pour out my Spirit on the house of Israel,' says Jehovah."
