Ezekiel 35

1 Moreover, the word of Jehovah came to me, saying:

Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:

2 Son of man, set thy face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it,

Du Menschenkind, richte dein Angesicht wider das Gebirge Seir und weissage dawider

3 and say to it, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, O Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against thee, and I will make thee an utter desolation;

und sprich zum selbigen: So spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich will an dich, du Berg Seir, und meine Hand wider dich ausstrecken und will dich gar wüst machen.

4 I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah.

Ich will deine Städte öde machen, daß du sollst zur Wüste werden und erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin,

5 Because thou bearest a perpetual hatred, and deliverest up the sons of Israel to the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time when iniquity bringeth destruction:

darum daß ihr ewige Feindschaft traget wider die Kinder Israel und triebet sie ins Schwert, da es ihnen übel ging und ihre Sünde ein Ende hatte.

6 therefore, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, surely, to blood will I bring thee, and blood shall pursue thee; since thou hast not hated blood, blood shall pursue thee.

Darum, so wahr ich lebe, spricht der HERR HERR, will ich dich auch blutend machen, und sollst dem Blute nicht entrinnen; weil du Lust zu Blut hast, sollst du dem Blute nicht entrinnen.

7 Thus will I make Mount Seir an utter desolation, and cut off from it him that passeth out, and him that returneth.

Und ich will den Berg Seir wüst und öde machen, daß niemand darauf wandeln noch gehen soll.

8 And I will fill his valleys with the slain. Upon thy hills and in thy plains and in thy valleys shall fall they that are slain with the sword.

Und will sein Gebirge und alle Hügel, Täler und alle Gründe voll Toter machen, die durchs Schwert sollen erschlagen daliegen.

9 I will make thee a perpetual desolation, and thy cities shall not be inhabited; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.

Ja, zu einer ewigen Wüste will ich dich machen, daß niemand in deinen Städten wohnen soll, und sollt erfahren daß ich der HERR bin.

10 Because thou hast said, “These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we shall possess them,” whereas Jehovah was there;

Und darum daß du sprichst: Diese beiden Völker mit beiden Ländern müssen mein werden und wir wollen sie einnehmen, obgleich der HERR da wohnet,

11 therefore, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will do according to thine anger and according to thine envy which in thy hatred against them thou hast practised, and I will make myself known to them when I judge thee.

darum, so wahr ich lebe, spricht der HERR HERR, will ich nach deinem Zorn und Haß mit dir umgehen, wie du mit ihnen umgegangen bist aus lauterm Haß und will bei ihnen bekannt werden, wenn ich dich gestraft habe,

12 And thou shalt know that I am Jehovah, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying: “They are laid desolate; to us are they given to be devoured.”

und sollst erfahren, daß ich, der HERR, all dein Lästern gehöret habe, so du geredet hast wider das Gebirge Israel und gesagt: Sie sind verwüstet und uns zu verderben gegeben.

13 Thus with your mouth have ye magnified yourselves against me, and multiplied your words against me; I have heard them.

Und habt euch wider mich gerühmet und heftig wider mich geredet; das hab' ich gehöret.

14 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When the whole land rejoiceth, I will prepare desolation for thee.

So spricht nun der HERR HERR: Ich will dich zur Wüste machen, daß sich alles Land freuen soll.

15 As thou didst rejoice over my inheritance, the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do to thee! Mount Seir shall be desolate, and all Edom, even all of it; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

Und wie du dich gefreuet hast über dem Erbe des Hauses Israel, darum daß es war wüst worden, ebenso will ich mit dir tun, daß der Berg Seir wüst sein muß samt dem ganzen Edom; und sollen erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin.
