Ephesians 2
1 and you also [[he raised up]], who were dead through your trespasses and sins,
Te olite ju varem surnud oma üleastumiste ja pattude tõttu,
2 in which ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience; (aiōn g165)
milles te elasite käesoleva maailmaajastu kombel, kuuletudes õhuvalla valitsejale, vaimule, kes praegugi tegutseb neis, kes on sõnakuulmatud. (aiōn g165)
3 among whom even we all had our way of life in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath, even as others;
Meie kõik kuulusime nende hulka, keda juhtisid lihalikud himud, tehes oma loomuse ja soovide tahtmist. Me olime Jumala viha all, nii nagu teisedki.
4 but God, who is rich in mercy, on account of his great love wherewith he loved us, gave to us,

5 even when dead through our trespasses, life with Christ, —by grace have ye been saved, —
et kuigi me olime surnud üleastumistes, on ta meid koos Kristusega teinud elavaks. Armu läbi te olete päästetud!
6 and raised us up with him, and caused us to sit with him in the heavenly regions in Christ Jesus,
Jumal on meid koos temaga üles äratanud ja asetanud taevatroonile Kristuses Jeesuses,
7 that he might show in the ages to come the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (aiōn g165)
et näidata tulevastel aegadel meile osutatud helduse varal, kui võrratult rikkalik on tema arm Kristuses Jeesuses. (aiōn g165)
8 For by grace ye have been saved, through faith; and this is not of yourselves; it is the gift of God;
Sest teie olete armu läbi päästetud usu kaudu – see ei ole teist enestest, see on kingitus Jumalalt –,
9 not of works, lest any one should boast.
mitte tegudest, et ükski ei saaks kiidelda.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.
Sest me oleme Jumala teos, Kristuses Jeesuses loodud tegema häid tegusid, mis Jumal on varem meie jaoks valmis seadnud.
11 Wherefore remember, that in time past ye, the gentiles in the flesh, who are called uncircumcised by those who are called circumcised, having the circumcision of the flesh, performed by hand, —
Seetõttu pidage meeles, et te olete sünni poolest mittejuudid. Teid nimetavad ümberlõikamatuteks need, kes ennast kutsuvad ümberlõigatuks oma ihule inimkäega tehtud märgi tõttu.
12 that ye were at that time without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope, and without God, in the world;
Pidage meeles, et te olite enne ilma Kristuseta, väljaspool Iisraeli kodakondsust ja eemal Jumala tõotuselepinguist, ilma lootuseta ja ilma Jumalata siin maailmas.
13 but now, in Christ Jesus, ye, who formerly were afar off, have been brought nigh by the blood of Christ.
Aga nüüd Kristuses Jeesuses olete teie, kes varem olite kaugel, saanud lähedale Kristuse vere läbi.
14 For it is he who is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition between us, that is, the enmity;
Sest tema on meie rahu, ta on ühendanud mõlemad pooled, hävitanud vaenu vaheseina, mis neid lahutas, oma ihu ohvriga.
15 having abolished in his flesh the law of commandments contained in ordinances; that he might create of the two one new man in himself, thus making peace,
Ta tühistas käskude ja määruste Seaduse ning tegi rahu, et luua need kaks eneses üheks uueks inimeseks.
16 and might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having slain on it the enmity.
Ta lepitas Jumalaga mõlemad ühesainsas ihus oma ristisurma kaudu, kaotades seeläbi vaenu,
17 And he came and brought the glad tidings of peace to you who were afar off, and of peace to those that were near;
ning tuli ja kuulutas rõõmusõnumit: rahu teile, kes te olite kaugel, ja rahu neile, kes olid lähedal.
18 for through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
Sest tema läbi on meil mõlemal samas Vaimus ligipääs Isa juurde.
19 So then ye are no longer strangers and foreigners, but are fellow-citizens with the saints, and members of the household of God,
Seega ei ole te enam võõramaalased ega külalised, vaid Jumala rahva kodakondsed, Jumala perekonnaliikmed,
20 and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner-stone;
rajatud apostlite ja prohvetite vundamendile, mille nurgakiviks on Kristus Jeesus.
21 in whom all the building, fitly framed together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord;
Temas on kogu hoone kokku liidetud ja kerkib pühaks templiks Issandas.
22 in whom ye also are built together into a dwelling-place of God in the Spirit.
Temas ehitatakse teidki üheskoos eluasemeks Jumala Vaimule.
