Colossians 4
1 Masters, deal out to your bond-servants justice and equity, knowing that ye also have a master in heaven.
Ihr Herren, gebt euern Sklaven, was recht und billig ist! Bedenkt: auch ihr habt einen Herrn im Himmel!
2 Persevere in prayer, being watchful therein with thanksgiving;
Beharrt im Gebet! Seid dabei wachsam und seid dankbar!
3 praying at the same time for us also, that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for the sake of which I am also in bonds;
Betet auch für uns, daß Gott uns für die Predigt seines Wortes eine Tür auftue, damit wir das Geheimnis Christi, um dessentwillen ich auch in Ketten bin, verkündigen können.
4 that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
Ja betet, daß ich frei und offen davon reden kann, so wie es meine Pflicht ist!
5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, buying up opportunities.
Geht weise um mit denen, die draußen sind, und benutzt dabei den rechten Augenblick!
6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every one.
Eure Rede sei allezeit gewinnend und mit Salz gewürzt, so daß ihr einem jeden die rechte Antwort zu geben wißt!
7 Of all my affairs Tychicus will inform you, the beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow-servant in the Lord;
Über meine Lage wird euch Tychikus, der geliebte Bruder und treue Diener und Mitknecht in dem Herrn, ausführlich berichten.
8 whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that he may know your condition, and comfort your hearts;
Ich sende ihn zu euch, damit er sehe, wie es euch geht, und er eure Herzen stärke.
9 together with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will inform you of every thing here.
Mit ihm kommt auch Onesimus, der treue und geliebte Bruder, euer Landsmann. Die beiden werden euch genau mitteilen, wie es hier steht.
10 Aristarchus, my fellow-prisoner, saluteth you, and Mark, the cousin of Barnabas, concerning whom ye received directions (if he come to you, receive him),
Es senden euch Grüße mein Mitgefangener Aristarchus und Markus, der Vetter des Barnabas. Über ihn habt ihr besondere Anweisungen empfangen; wenn er zu euch kommt, so nehmt ihn freundlich auf!
11 and Jesus, who is called Justus; who are of the circumcision; these only are my fellow-workers for the kingdom of God, who have been an encouragement unto me.
Auch Jesus mit dem Beinamen Justus läßt euch grüßen. Nur diese drei sind von den Judenchristen meine Mitarbeiter für Gottes Königreich, und sie sind mir ein rechter Trost.
12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, saluteth you, always striving for you in his prayers, that ye may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.
Es grüßt euch euer Landsmann Epaphras, ein Knecht Christi Jesu. Er ringt unablässig für euch im Gebet, daß ihr in allem, was Gott von euch verlangt, in voller Geistesreife und klarer Überzeugung feststeht.
13 For I bear him witness, that he hath much labor for you, and those that are in Laodicea, and those in Hierapolis.
Ich muß ihm das Zeugnis geben: er ist in großer Sorge um euch und um die Brüder in Laodizea und Hierapolis.
14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, salute you.
Es grüßen euch Lukas, der Arzt, der teure Mann, und Demas.
15 Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church in his house.
Grüßt die Brüder in Laodizea, namentlich Nymphas und seine Hausgemeinde!
16 And when the letter hath been read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans, and that ye likewise read the letter from Laodicea.
Ist dieser Brief bei euch vorgelesen, dann sorgt dafür, daß er auch in der Gemeinde zu Laodizea verlesen werde, und lest ihr den Brief, den man euch aus Laodizea senden wird!
17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfill it.
Sagt dem Archippus: "Sieh zu, daß du das Amt, das du als Diener des Herrn empfangen hast, auch treu verwaltest!"
18 The salutation by the hand of me, Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you.
Ich, Paulus, sende euch einen eigenhändigen Gruß. Denkt an meine Ketten! Die Gnade sei mit euch!
