Amos 7
1 The Lord Jehovah showed me this vision: Behold, he formed locusts In the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; Behold, it was the latter growth after the king's mowing.
Hili ndilo alilonionyesha Bwana Mwenyezi katika maono: Alikuwa anaandaa makundi ya nzige baada ya kuvunwa fungu la mfalme na wakati ule tu mimea ya pili ilipokuwa ikichipua.
2 And when they had devoured the grass of the land, Then said I, O Lord Jehovah, forgive, I beseech thee! How shall Jacob stand? For he is small!
Wakati nzige walikuwa wamekula mimea yote ya nchi, nililia kwa sauti kuu, “Bwana Mwenyezi, samehe! Je, Yakobo atawezaje kuendelea kuishi? Yeye ni mdogo sana!”
3 Jehovah repented of this; It shall not be, said Jehovah.
Kwa hiyo Bwana akaghairi. Kisha Bwana akasema, “Hili halitatokea.”
4 The Lord Jehovah also showed me this vision: Behold, the Lord Jehovah commanded the fire to execute judgment; And it devoured the great deep, And it devoured the fields.
Hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi alilonionyesha katika maono: Bwana Mwenyezi alikuwa akiita hukumu ya moto; nao ulikausha vilindi vikuu, ukateketeza nchi.
5 Then said I, O Lord Jehovah, desist, I beseech thee! How shall Jacob stand? For he is small!
Ndipo nikalia, “Bwana Mwenyezi, nakusihi, zuia! Je, Yakobo atawezaje kuendelea kuishi? Yeye ni mdogo sana!”
6 Jehovah repented of this; This also shall not be, said the Lord Jehovah.
Kwa hiyo Bwana akaghairi. Bwana Mwenyezi akasema, “Hili nalo halitatokea.”
7 He also showed me this vision: Behold, the Lord stood upon a wall, built with a plumb-line, And in his hand was a plumb-line;
Hili ndilo alilonionyesha katika maono: Bwana alikuwa amesimama karibu na ukuta ambao ulikuwa umejengwa kwa timazi, akiwa na uzi wa timazi mkononi mwake.
8 And Jehovah said to me, What seest thou, Amos? And I said, A plumb-line. And the Lord said, Behold I will set a plumb-line in the midst of my people Israel; I will not spare them any more.
Naye Bwana akaniuliza, “Je, Amosi unaona nini?” Nikamjibu, “Uzi wa timazi.” Kisha Bwana akasema, “Tazama, ninaweka uzi wa timazi miongoni mwa watu wangu Israeli; sitawahurumia tena.
9 The high places of Isaac shall be desolate, And the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste, And I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
“Mahali pa Isaki pa juu pa kuabudia miungu pataangamizwa, na mahali patakatifu pa Israeli pa kuabudia pataharibiwa; kwa upanga wangu nitainuka dhidi ya nyumba ya Yeroboamu.”
10 Then sent Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, To Jeroboam, the king of Israel, and said: Amos conspireth against thee in the midst of the house of Israel; The land is not able to bear all his words.
Kisha Amazia kuhani wa Betheli akatuma ujumbe kwa Yeroboamu mfalme wa Israeli, akisema: “Amosi analeta fitina juu yako katikati ya Israeli. Nchi haiwezi kuvumilia maneno yake yote.
11 For thus hath Amos said: Jeroboam shall die by the sword, And Israel shall surely be led captive from their own land.
Kwa kuwa hili ndilo Amosi analosema: “‘Yeroboamu atakufa kwa upanga, na kwa hakika Israeli watakwenda uhamishoni, mbali na nchi yao.’”
12 And Amaziah said to Amos, Go, thou seer! flee into the land of Judah! There eat thy bread, and there prophesy!
Kisha Amazia akamwambia Amosi, “Nenda zako, ewe mwonaji! Urudi katika nchi ya Yuda. Ujipatie riziki yako huko na kutoa unabii wako.
13 But prophesy no more at Bethel, For it is the king's sanctuary, And it is the king's abode.
Usiendelee kutoa unabii katika Betheli, kwa sababu hapa ni mahali pa mfalme pa kuabudia na Hekalu la ufalme huu.”
14 Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah: I was no prophet, nor the son of a prophet; I was a shepherd, and a gatherer of sycamore fruit.
Amosi akamjibu Amazia, “Mimi sikuwa nabii wala mwana wa nabii, lakini nilikuwa mchungaji wa kondoo na mtunza mikuyu.
15 And Jehovah took me from the flock; And Jehovah said to me, Go, prophesy to my people Israel!
Lakini Bwana akanitoa kutoka kuchunga kondoo na kuniambia, ‘Nenda, ukawatabirie watu wangu Israeli.’
16 Now, therefore, hear the word of Jehovah: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, And speak no word against the house of Isaac!
Sasa basi, sikieni neno la Bwana. Ninyi mnasema, “‘Usitabiri dhidi ya Israeli, na uache kuhubiri dhidi ya nyumba ya Isaki.’
17 Therefore thus saith Jehovah: “Thy wife shall be put to shame in the city, And thy sons and daughters shall fall by the sword; Thy land shall be divided by the line, And thou shalt die in a polluted land, And Israel shall surely be led captive from his own land.”
“Kwa hiyo hili ndilo asemalo Bwana: “‘Mke wako atakuwa kahaba mjini, nao wana wako na binti zako watauawa kwa upanga. Shamba lako litapimwa na kugawanywa, na wewe mwenyewe utafia katika nchi ya kipagani. Nayo Israeli kwa hakika itakwenda uhamishoni, mbali na nchi yao.’”
