Amos 4
1 Hear these words, O ye kine of Bashan, That are on the mountain of Samaria; That oppress the poor; that crush the needy; That say to your master, Bring, and let us drink!
Oíd esta palabra, vacas de Basán, que estáis en el monte de Samaria, que oprimís a los pobres, que quebrantáis a los menesterosos, que decís a sus señores: Traed, y beberemos.
2 The Lord Jehovah hath sworn by his holiness; Behold, the days shall come upon you When ye shall be taken away with hooks, And your residue with fishing-hooks.
El Señor DIOS juró por su Santidad: He aquí, vienen días sobre vosotros en que os llevará con anzuelos, y a vuestros descendientes en barquillos de pescador.
3 And ye shall go out at the breaches, every one right forward, And ye shall be thrown into a castle, saith Jehovah.
Y saldrán por los portillos la una en pos de la otra, y seréis echadas del palacio, dice el SEÑOR.
4 Go, now, to Bethel, and transgress; At Gilgal multiply transgression! Bring your sacrifices every morning, And your tithes every three years!
Id a Bet-el, y prevaricad; en Gilgal aumentad la rebelión, y traed de mañana vuestros sacrificios, y vuestros diezmos cada tres años;
5 Burn a thank-offering from your extortions, And proclaim the free-will offerings; publish them abroad! For this is your delight, ye sons of Israel, Saith the Lord, Jehovah.
y ofreced sacrificio de alabanza con leudo, y pregonad, publicad voluntarias ofrendas; pues que así lo queréis, hijos de Israel, dijo el Señor DIOS.
6 I also have caused cleanness of teeth in all your cities, And want of bread in all your places; And yet ye have not returned to me, saith Jehovah.
Yo también os di limpieza de dientes en todas vuestras ciudades, y falta de pan en todos vuestros pueblos; mas no os tornasteis a mí, dijo el SEÑOR.
7 I also have withholden from you the rain three months before the harvest; I have caused it to rain upon one city, And upon another city have I not caused it to rain; One piece of ground hath been rained upon, And another, upon which I have not caused it to rain, hath withered.
Y también yo os detuve la lluvia tres meses antes de la siega; e hice llover sobre una ciudad, y sobre otra ciudad no hice llover; sobre una parte llovió; y la parte sobre la cual no llovió, se secó.
8 Two or three cities have gone to one city, To drink water, and have not been satisfied; And yet ye have not returned to me, saith Jehovah.
Y venían dos o tres ciudades a una ciudad para beber agua, y no se saciaban; con todo, no os tornasteis a mí, dijo el SEÑOR.
9 I have smitten you with blasting and mildew; The locust hath devoured your many gardens, Your vineyards, your fig-trees, and your olive-trees; Yet have ye not returned to me, saith Jehovah.
Os herí con viento solano y oruga; vuestros muchos huertos y vuestras viñas, y vuestros higuerales y vuestros olivares comió la langosta; pero nunca os tornasteis a mí, dijo el SEÑOR.
10 I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt; I have slain your young men with the sword, And your horses have I led into captivity; I have made the smell of your camps to come up into your nostrils; And yet ye have not returned to me, saith Jehovah.
Envié entre vosotros mortandad en el camino a Egipto; maté a cuchillo a vuestros jóvenes, quité vuestros caballos; e hice subir el hedor de vuestros reales hasta vuestras narices; y nunca os tornasteis a mí, dijo el SEÑOR.
11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah; And ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning; And yet ye have not returned to me, saith Jehovah.
Os trastorné, como cuando Dios trastornó a Sodoma y a Gomorra, y fuisteis como tizón escapado del fuego; y nunca os tornasteis a mí, dice el SEÑOR.
12 Therefore thus will I deal with thee, O Israel! Yet since I will thus deal with thee, Prepare to meet thy God, O Israel!
Por tanto, de esta manera haré a ti, oh Israel; y porque te he de hacer esto, aparéjate para venir al encuentro de tu Dios, oh Israel.
13 For behold, he formed the mountains, and created the wind; He declareth to man what is his thought; He maketh the morning darkness, And walketh upon the high places of the earth; Jehovah, God of hosts, is his name.
Porque he aquí, el que forma los montes, y crea el viento, y denuncia al hombre su pensamiento; el que hace a las tinieblas mañana, y pasa sobre las alturas de la tierra; el SEÑOR, Dios de los ejércitos, es su Nombre.
