Acts 9
1 But Saul, yet breathing out threatening and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest,
Saulus aber schnaubte noch Drohung und Mord wider die Jünger des Herrn und trat zu dem Hohenpriester,
2 and asked of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any who were of this way of belief, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
Und erbat sich von ihm Briefe nach Damaskus an die Synagogen, auf daß, so er etwelche fände auf dem Wege, er sie, Männer und Weiber, gebunden gen Jerusalem führete.
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus; and suddenly there shone around a him a light from heaven;
Und da er auf dem Wege war und nahe zu Damaskus kam, umblitzte ihn plötzlich ein Licht vom Himmel.
4 and he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
Er stürzte zu Boden und hörte eine Stimme, die ihm zurief: Saul, Saul, was verfolgst du Mich!
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And he answered, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
Er aber sprach: Wer bist Du, Herr? Der Herr sprach: Ich bin Jesus, Den du verfolgst; es wird dir schwer werden, wider den Stachel zu löcken.
6 But arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
Und er sprach mit Zittern und Zagen: Herr, was willst Du, daß ich tue? Der Herr sprach zu ihm: Mache dich auf und gehe hin in die Stadt, da wird man dir sagen, was du tun sollst.
7 And the men that journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing the voice, but seeing no one.
Die Männer aber, die mit ihm zogen, standen sprachlos da; denn sie hörten zwar die Stimme, sahen aber niemand.
8 And Saul arose from the earth; but when his eyes were opened, he saw nothing; and they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
Saulus aber richtete sich auf von der Erde, und da seine Augen sich auftaten, sah er niemand. Da nahmen sie ihn bei der Hand und führten ihn nach Damaskus.
9 And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.
Drei Tage lang sah er nicht, aß und trank nicht.
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias, and to him the Lord said in a vision, Ananias! And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
Es war aber ein Jünger in Damaskus, mit Namen Ananias, und der Herr sprach zu ihm in einem Gesichte: Ananias! Er sprach: Siehe, hier bin ich, Herr!
11 And the Lord said to him, Arise, and go into the street called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus; for lo! he prayeth,
Der Herr sprach zu ihm: Mache dich auf und gehe hin in die Straße, die man die gerade nennt, und frage in dem Hause des Judas nach einem, mit Namen Saul aus Tarsus; denn siehe, er betet,
12 and hath seen a man, named Ananias, coming in and putting his hand on him, that he might receive sight.
Und hat gesehen im Gesicht einen Mann mit Namen Ananias eintreten, und ihm die Hand auflegen, auf daß er wieder sehend werde.
13 But Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how great evils he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem.
Da antwortete Ananias: Herr, ich habe von vielen gehört, wieviel Übles dieser Mann deinen Heiligen in Jerusalem getan hat;
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
Und allhier hat er Vollmacht von den Hohenpriestern, alle zu binden, die deinen Namen anrufen.
15 But the Lord said to him, Go; for this man is to me a chosen vessel, to bear my name before nations, and kings, and the sons of Israel.
Der Herr aber sprach zu ihm: Gehe hin, denn er ist Mir ein auserwähltes Werkzeug, Meinen Namen vor Völker und Könige und die Kinder Israels zu tragen;
16 For I myself will show him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
Denn Ich werde ihm zeigen, wieviel er für Meinen Namen leiden muß.
17 And Ananias went away, and entered the house; and putting his hands on him, he said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus who appeared to thee in the way thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mayst receive sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Da ging Ananias hin und kam in das Haus und legte ihm die Hände auf und sprach: Bruder Saul, der Herr hat mich gesandt,
18 And immediately there fell off from his eyes as it were scales; and he received sight, and arose, and was baptized.
Und alsbald fiel es wie Schuppen von seinen Augen, und er ward wieder sehend, und stand auf und ließ sich taufen.
19 And having taken some food he was strengthened. And he was some days with the disciples in Damascus.
Und er nahm Speise zu sich und stärkte sich; und war etliche Tage bei den Jüngern in Damaskus.
20 And immediately he preached Jesus in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
Und alsbald predigte er in den Synagogen von Jesus, daß dieser ist der Sohn Gottes.
21 And all that heard him were amazed, and said, Is not this he that destroyed in Jerusalem those who called on this name? And he hath come hither for this purpose, that he may bring them bound to the chief priests.
Und alle, die ihn hörten, erstaunten und sagten: Ist das nicht der, so in Jerusalem wütete gegen alle, die diesen Namen anriefen, und hierher zu dem Ende gekommen war, sie gebunden an die Hohenpriester zu überantworten?
22 But Saul gained still more strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.
Saul aber ward mehr und mehr gekräftigt, so daß er die Juden, die in Damaskus wohnten, überführte, und erwies, daß dieser ist der Christ.
23 But after many days had passed, the Jews took counsel together to kill him;
Wie aber viele Tage um waren, hielten die Juden einen Rat, wie sie ihn umbrächten.
24 but their plot became known to Saul; and they were even watching the gates day and night to kill him.
Ihr Anschlag aber ward dem Saul kundgetan. sie hielten jedoch Tag und Nacht die Tore bewacht, um ihn umzubringen.
25 But his disciples took him by night, and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket.
Da nahmen ihn die Jünger und ließen ihn in einem Korb von der Mauer hinab.
26 And when he had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join himself to the disciples; and they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.
Als Saulus in Jerusalem ankam, versuchte er, sich an die Jünger zu halten; alle aber fürchteten ihn, indem sie nicht glaubten, daß er ein Jünger wäre.
27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and related to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that he had spoken to him, and hew he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
Barnabas aber nahm ihn zu sich, und führte ihn zu den Aposteln und erzählte ihnen, wie er auf dem Wege den Herrn gesehen, und Dieser zu ihm gesprochen habe, und wie er in Damaskus frei Jesus Namen verkündete.
28 And he was with them going in and out at Jerusalem,
Und er ging aus und ein mit ihnen und verkündigte frei den Namen des Herrn Jesus.
29 speaking boldly in the name of the Lord. And he often spoke and disputed with the Hellenists; but they were endeavoring to slay him.
Auch redete und stritt er mit den griechischen Juden; diese aber trachteten danach, wie sie ihn umbrächten.
30 But the brethren obtaining knowledge of it, brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
Als die Brüder davon hörten, geleiteten sie ihn hinab nach Cäsarea und entsandten ihn nach Tarsus.
31 The church therefore throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being built up, and walking in the fear of the Lord; and by the exhortation of the Holy Spirit it was greatly increased.
So hatten nun die Gemeinden in ganz Judäa, Galiläa und Samaria Frieden, erbauten sich, und wandelten in der Furcht des Herrn und mehrten sich unter dem Beistand des Heiligen Geistes.
32 And it came to pass, that as Peter went through the whole country, he came down also to the saints who dwelt at Lydda.
Da begab sich, daß Petrus sie alle heimsuchte und auch zu den Heiligen kam, die in Lydda wohnten.
33 And there he found a certain man named AEneas, who had lain on a bed eight years, and was palsied.
Allda fand er einen Mann, mit Namen Aeneas, der acht Jahre gichtbrüchig auf dem Bette darniedergelegen.
34 And Peter said to him, AEneas, Jesus the Christ healeth thee; arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
Und Petrus sprach zu ihm: Aeneas, Jesus Christus heilt dich, stehe auf und mache dir dein Bett zurecht! Und alsbald stand er auf.
35 And all that dwelt in Lydda and Sharon saw him; and they turned to the Lord.
Und alle, die ihn Lydda und Saron wohnten, sahen ihn und bekehrten sich zum Herrn.
36 Now at Joppa there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which name being interpreted is the same as Dorcas, that is, Gazelle. This woman was full of good works and alms-deeds which she did.
Zu Joppe aber war eine Jüngerin mit Namen Tabitha, das verdolmetscht heißt Dorkas. Diese war voll guter Werke und Wohltätigkeit, die sie erwies.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she fell sick, and died; and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper chamber.
Es begab sich aber in selbigen Tagen, daß sie erkrankte und starb. Da wuschen sie selbige und legten sie auf den Söller.
38 And as Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, having heard that Peter was there, sent to him two men with the entreaty, Do not delay to come to us.
Da Lydda nahe bei Joppe war, sandten die Jünger auf die Nachricht, daß Petrus allda wäre, zwei Männer an ihn, mit der Bitte unverweilt zu ihnen herüberzukommen.
39 Then Peter arose, and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber; and all the widows came to him weeping, and showing the coats and cloaks which Dorcas made while she was with them.
Petrus stand auf und ging mit ihnen. Als er ankam, führten sie ihn auf den Söller und alle Witwen umstanden ihn, weinten und zeigten ihm die Röcke und Gewänder, welche die Reh gemacht, während sie bei ihnen war.
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down and prayed; and turning to the body he said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes; and seeing Peter, she sat up.
Petrus hieß sie alle hinausgehen, kniete nieder und betete, und wandte sich dann zu der Leiche und sprach: Tabitha, stehe auf! Sie tat ihre Augen auf, und da sie den Petrus sah, setzte sie sich auf.
41 And he gave her his hand, and raised her up; and calling the saints and the widows, he presented her alive.
Er gab ihr die Hand und richtete sie auf, rief die Heiligen und die Witwen herein und stellte sie lebend dar.
42 And it became known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
Und es ward bekannt in ganz Joppe, und viele glaubten an den Herrn.
43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon, a tanner.
Petrus aber blieb viele Tage in Joppe bei Simon, einem Gerber.
