Acts 8
1 And Saul was consenting to his death. And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and all were scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
| و سولُس با کشته شدن استیفان موافق بود. از آن روز به بعد، شکنجه و آزار ایمانداران کلیسای اورشلیم شروع شد. به طوری که همه به یهودیه و سامره فرار کردند. فقط رسولان در اورشلیم باقی ماندند. |
2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
| ولی چند یهودی خداشناس جمع شدند و جنازهٔ استیفان را به خاک سپردند. ایشان از این پیش‌آمد بسیار اندوهگین بودند. |
3 But Saul ravaged the church, entering house after house, and dragging both men and women, committed them to prison.
| اما سولُس همه جا می‌رفت و ایمانداران به مسیح را شکنجه می‌داد. او خانه به خانه می‌گشت و مردان و زنان را به زور بیرون می‌کشید و به زندان می‌انداخت. |
4 Now those that had been scattered abroad went through the country preaching the word.
| ولی ایماندارانی که از اورشلیم گریخته بودند، به هر جا می‌رفتند خبر خوش دربارۀ عیسی را به مردم می‌رساندند. |
5 And Philip went down to a city of Samaria, and preached to them the Christ.
| فیلیپ نیز به یکی از شهرهای سامره رفت و دربارۀ مسیح با اهالی آنجا سخن گفت. |
6 And the multitudes with one accord gave heed to the things spoken by Philip, when they heard and saw the signs which he wrought.
| مردم، به خاطر معجزات او، به دقت به سخنان او گوش می‌دادند. |
7 For from many that had unclean spirits came they out crying with a loud voice; and many that were palsied, and that were lame, were cured.
| ارواح پلید نیز با فریادهای بلند از وجود دیوزدگان بیرون می‌آمدند، و مفلوجان و لنگان شفا می‌یافتند. |
8 And there was great joy in that city.
| از این جهت، آن شهر غرق در شادی شد! |
9 But before their arrival a certain man, named Simon, was in the city, a man practising sorcery, and amazing the people of Samaria, saying that he himself was some great person;
| در این میان، در شهر سامره مردی بود به نام شمعون که سالهای سال جادوگری می‌کرد و مردم را به حیرت وا می‌داشت و ادعا می‌کرد که شخص بزرگی است. |
10 to whom they gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the Power of God, which is called Great.
| همگان، از کوچک و بزرگ، از او به عنوان «قدرت عظیم خدا» یاد می‌کردند. |
11 And to him they gave heed, because they had for a long time been amazed by his sorceries.
| ایشان به‌دقت به سخنان او گوش فرا می‌دادند، زیرا وی برای مدتی طولانی با چشم‌بندی‌هایش باعث شگفتی آنان شده بود. |
12 But when they believed Philip, publishing the glad tidings concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
| اما وقتی مردم به پیغام فیلیپ دربارهٔ ملکوت خدا و عیسی مسیح ایمان آوردند، هم مردان و هم زنان تعمید گرفتند. |
13 And Simon himself also believed, and having been baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed when he beheld the miracles and signs which were wrought.
| سپس شمعون نیز ایمان آورده، تعمید گرفت. او از فیلیپ جدا نمی‌شد و از معجزات او مات و مبهوت می‌ماند. |
14 And the apostles at Jerusalem, hearing that Samaria had received the word of God, sent to them Peter and John;
| وقتی رسولان در اورشلیم شنیدند که اهالی سامره پیغام خدا را قبول کرده‌اند، پطرس و یوحنا را به آنجا فرستادند. |
15 who, having come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.
| وقتی ایشان به سامره رسیدند، برای نوایمانان دعا کردند تا روح‌القدس را بیابند، |
16 For it had not yet fallen upon any of them; but they had only been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.
| زیرا ایشان فقط به نام عیسای خداوند تعمید گرفته بودند و هنوز روح‌القدس بر هیچ‌یک از ایشان نازل نشده بود. |
17 Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
| پس پطرس و یوحنا دستهای خود را بر سر این نوایمانان گذاشتند و ایشان نیز روح‌القدس را یافتند. |
18 But Simon, seeing that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, offered them money,
| وقتی شمعون دید که با قرار گرفتن دستهای رسولان بر سر مردم، روح‌القدس عطا می‌شود، مبلغی پول نزد پطرس و یوحنا آورد تا این قدرت را بخرد. |
19 saying, Give me also this power, that on whomever I lay my hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.
| او گفت: «به من نیز این قدرت را بدهید تا هر وقت دست بر سر کسی می‌گذارم، روح‌القدس را بیابد!» |
20 But Peter said to him, Thy money perish with thee! because thou didst think to obtain the gift of God with money.
| اما پطرس جواب داد: «پولت با تو نابود باد! گمان می‌کنی هدیهٔ خدا را می‌توان با پول خرید! |
21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter; for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
| تو از این نعمت بی‌نصیب هستی، چون دلت نزد خدا پاک نیست. |
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray the Lord, if haply the thought of thy heart may be forgiven thee.
| از این شرارتِ خود توبه کن و دعا کن تا شاید خدا این افکار ناپاکت را ببخشد. |
23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
| زیرا می‌بینم که پر از حسادت تلخ و اسیر گناه هستی!» |
24 And Simon answering said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of the things which ye have spoken may come upon me.
| شمعون با التماس گفت: «برای من دعا کنید تا بلایی بر سرم نیاید!» |
25 They then, when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, were returning to Jerusalem, and publishing the glad tidings in many villages of the Samaritans.
| پطرس و یوحنا آنچه را که خدا در زندگی آنان کرده بود، برای ایمانداران سامره تعریف کردند و کلام خداوند را به آنان تعلیم دادند. آنگاه به اورشلیم بازگشتند. سر راهشان به چند روستا نیز سر زدند و پیغام خدا را به اهالی آنجا نیز بشارت دادند. |
26 But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Arise, and go towards the south, to the way that goeth down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a desert way.
| پس از این واقعه، فرشتهٔ خداوند به فیلیپ گفت: «برخیز و رو به جنوب، به راهی برو که از اورشلیم به بیابان غزه می‌رود.» |
27 And he arose and went; and lo! a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch, a high officer of Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem to worship,
| پس فیلیپ به طرف آن جاده به راه افتاد. وقتی به آنجا رسید به خزانه‌دار مملکت حبشه برخورد که در دربار «کنداکه»، ملکهٔ حبشه، نفوذ و قدرت فراوانی داشت. او برای عبادت در معبد به اورشلیم رفته بود، |
28 was returning and sitting in his chariot; and he was reading the prophet Isaiah.
| و اکنون با کالسکه به وطن خود بازمی‌گشت. در ضمن کتاب اشعیای نبی را با صدای بلند می‌خواند. |
29 And the Spirit said to Philip, Go near and join thyself to this chariot.
| روح خدا به فیلیپ گفت: «تندتر برو تا به کالسکه برسی.» |
30 And Philip ran up, and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, Well, but dost thou understand what thou art reading?
| فیلیپ جلو دوید و شنید که چه می‌خواند. پس پرسید: «آیا آنچه را که می‌خوانید درک می‌کنید؟» |
31 And he said, How can I, unless some one shall guide me? And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
| مرد حبشی جواب داد: «نه، وقتی کسی نیست به من بیاموزد، چگونه می‌توانم درک کنم؟» پس، از فیلیپ خواهش کرد که سوار کالسکه شود و کنار او بنشیند. |
32 And the passage of the scripture which he was reading was this: “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so he openeth not his mouth.
| آن قسمتی که از کتب مقدّس می‌خواند، این بود: «همچنانکه گوسفند را به سوی کشتارگاه می‌برند، او را نیز به کشتارگاه بردند. او مثل بره‌ای که پشمهایش را می‌چینند، لب به اعتراض نگشود. |
33 In his humiliation judgment was refused him; and who shall describe his generation? for his life is taken away from the earth.”
| او فروتن بود؛ از این رو هرگونه بی‌عدالتی در حق او روا داشتند. چه کسی می‌تواند از نسل او سخن بگوید؟ زیرا حیات او از زمین برداشته شد.» |
34 And the eunuch answering said, I pray thee, of whom doth the prophet say this? Of himself, or of some other man?
| خزانه‌دار حبشی از فیلیپ پرسید: «آیا اشعیا این چیزها را دربارهٔ خودش می‌گفت یا دربارهٔ شخص دیگری؟» |
35 And Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this scripture declared to him the glad tidings concerning Jesus.
| آنگاه فیلیپ از آن نوشتهٔ مقدّس شروع کرد و با استفاده از قسمتهای دیگر کتاب‌مقدّس، پیام نجاتبخش عیسی را به او رسانید. |
36 And as they went along the road, they came to a certain water; and the eunuch saith, See, here is water; what is there to hinder my being baptized?
| همچنانکه کالسکه پیش می‌رفت، به یک برکهٔ آب رسیدند. مرد حبشی گفت: «نگاه کن! این هم آب! آیا امکان دارد حالا تعمید بگیرم؟» |
| فیلیپ جواب داد: «اگر با تمام وجودت ایمان آورده‌ای، امکان دارد.» جواب داد: «من ایمان دارم که عیسی مسیح، پسر خداست.» |
38 And he commanded that the chariot should stop; and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
| پس کالسکه را نگاه داشتند و هر دو داخل آب رفتند و فیلیپ او را تعمید داد. |
39 But when they had come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip; and the eunuch saw him no more, for he went on his way rejoicing.
| وقتی از آب بیرون آمدند، روح خداوند فیلیپ را برداشت و برد و خزانه‌دار حبشی دیگر او را ندید، ولی راه خود را با خوشحالی پیش گرفت و رفت. |
40 But Philip was found at Azotus; and passing through, he published the glad tidings in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
| اما فیلیپ در شهر اشدود دیده شد. پس هم در آنجا و هم در شهرهای سر راه خود، پیغام خدا را به مردم رساند تا به شهر قیصریه رسید. |
