Acts 7
1 And the high-priest said, Are then these things so?
Tedy řekl nejvyšší kněz: Jestli-liž to tak?
2 And he said, Brethren and fathers, hearken. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran,
A on řekl: Muži bratří a otcové, slyšte. Bůh slávy ukázal se otci našemu Abrahamovi, když byl v Mezopotamii, prvé než bydlil v Cháran.
3 and said to him, “Go forth from thy country and thy kindred, and come into the land which I will show thee.”
A řekl jemu: Vyjdi z země své a z příbuznosti své, a poď do země, kterouž ukáži tobě.
4 Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Haran; and from thence, after his father was dead, he caused him to remove into this land wherein ye now dwell;
Tedy vyšed z země Kaldejské, bydlil v Cháran. A odtud, když umřel otec jeho, přestěhoval jej do země této, v kteréž vy nyní bydlíte.
5 and he gave him no inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on; and he promised to give it to him for a possession, and to his posterity after him, when as yet he had no child.
A nedal jemu dědictví v ní, ani šlepěje nožné, ač byl jemu ji slíbil dáti k vládařství, i semeni jeho po něm, když ještě neměl syna.
6 And God spoke in this manner: “That his posterity should sojourn in a foreign land, and that they would bring them into bondage, and ill-treat them four hundred years;
Mluvil pak Bůh takto: Budeť símě tvé pohostinu v zemi cizí, a bude v službu podrobeno, a zle s ním budou nakládati za čtyři sta let.
7 and the nation to which they shall be in bondage will I judge,” said God; “and after that they shall come forth, and shall worship me in this place.”
Ale národ ten, jemuž sloužiti budou, já souditi budu, pravíť Bůh. A potom zase vyjdou, a sloužiti mi budou na tomto místě.
8 And he gave him the covenant of circumcision; and so he begat Isaac, and circumcised him on the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob, and Jacob the twelve patriarchs.
I vydal jemu smlouvu obřízky. A tak zplodil Izáka, a obřezal jej osmého dne, a Izák Jákoba, a Jákob dvanácte patriarchů.
9 And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt; and God was with him,
A patriarchové v nenávisti měvše Jozefa, prodali jej do Egypta. Ale Bůh byl s ním.
10 and delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt, and all his house.
A vysvobodil ho ze všech úzkostí jeho, a dal jemu milost a moudrost před tváří Faraona, krále Egyptského, kterýž ho ustanovil úředníkem nad Egyptem a nade vším domem svým.
11 Now there came a famine over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and great distress; and our fathers found no Sustenance.
Potom přišel hlad na všecku zemi Egyptskou i Kananejskou, a ssoužení veliké, aniž měli pokrmů otcové naši.
12 But Jacob, hearing that there was grain in Egypt, sent out our fathers first.
A uslyšev Jákob, že by obilé bylo v Egyptě, poslal otce naše jednou.
13 And at the second time Joseph was recognized by his brothers, and the kindred of Joseph became known to Pharaoh.
A podruhé poznán jest Jozef od bratří svých, a zjevena jest Faraonovi rodina Jozefova.
14 Then Joseph sent and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, seventy five souls.
Tedy poslav Jozef, přistěhoval otce svého Jákoba, i všecku rodinu svou v osobách sedmdesáti pěti.
15 And Jacob went down [[into Egypt]], and died, he and our fathers.
I vstoupil Jákob do Egypta, a umřel on i otcové naši.
16 And they were removed to Shechem, and laid in the tomb that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem.
I přeneseni jsou do Sichem, a pochováni v hrobě, kterýž byl koupil Abraham za stříbro od synů Emorových, otce Sichemova.
17 But as the time of the promise drew near, which God solemnly made to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,
Když se pak přibližoval čas zaslíbení, o kterémž byl přisáhl Bůh Abrahamovi, rostl lid a množil se v Egyptě,
18 until another king arose, who knew not Joseph.
Až v tom povstal jiný král, kterýž neznal Jozefa.
19 The same dealt subtly with our race, and ill-treated our fathers, so that they should cast out their infants, that they might not be preserved alive.
Ten lstivě nakládaje s pokolením naším, trápil otce naše, tak že musili vyhazovati nemluvňátka svá, aby se nerozplozovali.
20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceedingly fair; who was nourished in his father's house three months.
V tom času narodil se Mojžíš, a byl velmi krásný, kterýž chován jest za tři měsíce v domě otce svého.
21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for herself as a son.
A když vyložen byl, vzala jej dcera Faraonova, a vychovala jej sobě za syna.
22 And Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in his worlds and deeds.
I vyučen jest Mojžíš vší moudrosti Egyptské, a byl mocný v řečech i v skutcích.
23 And when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren, the sons of Israel.
A když jemu bylo čtyřidceti let, vstoupilo na srdce jeho, aby navštívil bratří své, syny Izraelské.
24 And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed by smiting the Egyptian.
A uzřev jednoho, an bezpráví trpí, zastal ho, a pomstil toho, kterýž bezpráví trpěl, zabiv Egyptského.
25 For he supposed his brethren would understand that God through his hand would give them salvation; but they understood not.
Domníval se zajisté, že bratří jeho rozumějí, že skrze ruku jeho chce jim dáti Bůh vysvobození, ale oni nerozuměli.
26 And the next day he showed himself to them as they were contending, and urged them to peace, saying, Ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one another?
Druhého pak dne ukázal se jim, když se vadili, i vedl je ku pokoji, řka: Muži bratří jste, i proč křivdu činíte sobě vespolek?
27 But he who was wronging his neighbor thrust him away, saying, “Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?
Ten pak, kterýž činil křivdu bližnímu, odehnal ho, řka: Kdo tě ustanovil knížetem a soudcím nad námi?
28 Dost thou mean to kill me, as thou didst kill the Egyptian yesterday?”
Což ty mne chceš zamordovati, jako jsi včera zabil Egyptského?
29 And Moses fled at this saying, and became a sojourner in the land of Midian, where he begat two sons.
I utekl Mojžíš pro to slovo, a bydlil pohostinu v zemi Madianské, kdež zplodil dva syny.
30 And when forty years were completed, there appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai an angel in the flaming fire of a bush.
A když se vyplnilo let čtyřidceti, ukázal se jemu na poušti hory Sinai anděl Páně, v plameni ohně ve kři.
31 And Moses seeing it wondered at the sight; and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came [[to him]],
A Mojžíš uzřev, divil se tomu vidění. A když blíže přistoupil, aby to pilněji spatřil, stal se k němu hlas Páně:
32 saying, “I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.” And Moses trembled and durst not behold.
Jáť jsem Bůh otců tvých, Bůh Abrahamův, a Bůh Izákův, a Bůh Jákobův. I zhroziv se Mojžíš, nesměl patřiti.
33 And the Lord said to him, “Loose the sandals from thy feet; for the place where thou standest is holy ground.
I řekl jemu Pán: Zzuj obuv s noh svých; nebo místo, na kterémž stojíš, země svatá jest.
34 I have surely seen the oppression of my people in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them; and now, come, I will send thee into Egypt.”
Viděl jsem, viděl trápení lidu svého, kterýž jest v Egyptě, a vzdychání jejich uslyšel jsem, a sstoupil jsem, abych je vysvobodil. Protož nyní poď, pošli tě do Egypta.
35 This Moses, whom they denied, saying, “Who made thee a ruler and a judge?” this very man did God send both as a ruler and a redeemer with the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.
Toho Mojžíše, kteréhož se odepřeli, řkouce: Kdo tě ustanovil knížetem a soudcím? tohoť Bůh kníže a vysvoboditele poslal, skrze ruku anděla, kterýž se jemu ukázal ve kři.
36 This very man brought them out, working wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness forty years.
A ten je vyvedl, čině divy a zázraky v zemi Egyptské a na moři červeném, i na poušti za čtyřidceti let.
37 This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, “A prophet will God raise up to you from among your brethren, as he raised up me.”
Toť jest ten Mojžíš, kterýž řekl synům Izraelským: Proroka vám vzbudí Pán Bůh váš z bratří vašich, jako mne; toho poslouchejte.
38 This is he that was in the assembly in the wilderness with the anger who spake to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers; who received the living oracles to give to us;
Onť jest, kterýž byl mezi lidem na poušti s andělem, kterýž mluvil k němu na hoře Sinai, i s otci našimi, kterýž přijal slova živá, aby je nám vydal.
39 to whom our fathers would not be obedient, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back into Egypt,
Jehož nechtěli poslušni býti otcové naši, ale zavrhli jej, a odvrátili se srdci svými do Egypta,
40 saying to Aaron, “Make us gods who shall go before us; for as for this Moses, who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.”
Řkouce Aronovi: Učiň nám bohy, kteříž by šli před námi; nebo Mojžíšovi tomu, kterýž nás vyvedl z země Egyptské, nevíme, co se přihodilo.
41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
I udělali v těch dnech tele, a obětovali oběti té modle, a veselili se v díle rukou svých.
42 But God turned away, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the Prophets, “Did ye offer to me slain beasts and sacrifices for forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
I odvrátil se Bůh, a vydal je, aby sloužili vojsku nebeskému, jakož napsáno jest v knihách prorockých: Zdaliž jste mi oběti aneb dary obětovali za čtyřidceti let na poušti, dome Izraelský?
43 And ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of the god Rephan, the figures which ye made to worship them; and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.”
Nýbrž nosili jste stánek Molochův, a hvězdu boha svého Remfan, ta podobenství, kteráž jste zdělali sobě, abyste se jim klaněli. Protož přestěhuji vás za Babylon.
44 Our fathers had the tabernacle of the testimony in the wilderness, as he that spoke to Moses commanded that he should make it according to the pattern that he had seen;
Stánek svědectví měli otcové naši na poušti, jakož byl nařídil ten, kterýž řekl Mojžíšovi, aby jej udělal podlé způsobu toho, kterýž byl viděl.
45 which also our fathers received and brought in with Joshua, at their taking possession of the gentiles whom God drove out from before our fathers, until the days of David;
Kterýž přijavše otcové naši, vnesli s Jozue tam, kdež bylo vládařství pohanů, kteréž vyhnal Bůh od tváři otců našich, až do dnů Davida.
46 who found favor before God, and asked that he might find a habitation for the God of Jacob.
Kterýž nalezl milost před oblíčejem Božím, a prosil, aby nalezl stánek Bohu Jákobovu.
47 But Solomon built him a house.
Šalomoun pak udělal jemu dům.
48 Yet the Most High dwelleth not in [[temples]] made with hands; as saith the prophet,
Ale Nejvyšší nebydlí v chrámích rukou udělaných, jakož dí prorok:
49 “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What house will ye build for me? saith the Lord; or what is the place of my rest?
Nebe jest mi stolice a země podnož noh mých, i jakýž mi dům uděláte? praví Pán. Aneb jaké jest místo odpočívání mého?
50 Did not my hands make all these things?”
Zdaliž ruka má všeho toho neučinila?
51 Stiffnecked, and uncircumcised in heart and ears! ye do always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do ye.
Tvrdošijní a neobřezaného srdce i uší, vy jste se vždycky Duchu svatému protivili, jakž otcové vaši, tak i vy.
52 Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute? And they slew those who foretold the coming of the righteous one, of whom ye have now become the betrayers and murderers;
Kterému z proroků otcové vaši se neprotivili? Zmordovali zajisté ty, kteříž předzvěstovali příchod spravedlivého tohoto, jehož vy nyní zrádci a vražedlníci jste.
53 ye who received the Law as ordained through angels, and did not keep it.
Kteříž jste vzali zákon působením andělským, a neostříhali jste.
54 But when they heard these things, their hearts were filled with rage, and they gnashed their teeth at him.
Tedy slyšíce to, rozzlobili se v srdcích svých, a škřipěli zuby na něho.
55 But, being full of the Holy Spirit, he looked up earnestly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
On pak pln jsa Ducha svatého, pohleděv do nebe, uzřel slávu Boží a Ježíše stojícího na pravici Boží.
56 and said, Lo, I behold the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
I řekl: Aj, vidím, nebesa otevřená a Syna člověka stojícího na pravici Boží.
57 And they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and rushed upon him with one accord;
A oni zkřikše hlasem velikým, zacpali uši své, a obořili se jednomyslně na něj.
58 and having cast him out of the city, they stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul;
A vyvedše jej z města, kamenovali ho. A svědkové složili roucha svá u noh mládence, kterýž sloul Saul.
59 and they stoned Stephen, making supplication, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
I kamenovali Štěpána modlícího se a řkoucího: Pane Ježíši, přijmi ducha mého.
60 And kneeling down he cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And saying this, he fell asleep.
A poklek na kolena, zvolal hlasem velikým: Pane, nepokládej jim toho za hřích. A to pověděv, usnul.
