Acts 5
1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
ததா³ அநாநியநாமக ஏகோ ஜநோ யஸ்ய பா⁴ர்ய்யாயா நாம ஸபீ²ரா ஸ ஸ்வாதி⁴காரம்’ விக்ரீய
2 and kept back part of the price, his wife also having knowledge of it; and brought a certain part, and laid it at the feet of the apostles.
ஸ்வபா⁴ர்ய்யாம்’ ஜ்ஞாபயித்வா தந்மூல்யஸ்யைகாம்’ஸ²ம்’ ஸங்கோ³ப்ய ஸ்தா²பயித்வா தத³ந்யாம்’ஸ²மாத்ரமாநீய ப்ரேரிதாநாம்’ சரணேஷு ஸமர்பிதவாந்|
3 But Peter said, Ananias, why did Satan fill thy heart that thou shouldst lie to the Holy Spirit, and keep back part of the price of the land?
தஸ்மாத் பிதரோகத²யத் ஹே அநாநிய பூ⁴மே ர்மூல்யம்’ கிஞ்சித் ஸங்கோ³ப்ய ஸ்தா²பயிதும்’ பவித்ரஸ்யாத்மந: ஸந்நிதௌ⁴ ம்ரு’ஷாவாக்யம்’ கத²யிதுஞ்ச ஸை²தாந் குதஸ்தவாந்த: கரணே ப்ரவ்ரு’த்திமஜநயத்?
4 While it remained, was it not thine own? And after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? Why didst thou conceive this thing in thy heart? Thou didst not lie to men, but to God.
ஸா பூ⁴மி ர்யதா³ தவ ஹஸ்தக³தா ததா³ கிம்’ தவ ஸ்வீயா நாஸீத்? தர்ஹி ஸ்வாந்த: கரணே குத ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸீ² குகல்பநா த்வயா க்ரு’தா? த்வம்’ கேவலமநுஷ்யஸ்ய நிகடே ம்ரு’ஷாவாக்யம்’ நாவாதீ³: கிந்த்வீஸ்²வரஸ்ய நிகடே(அ)பி|
5 And Ananias, hearing these words, fell down, and expired. And great fear came on all that heard of it.
ஏதாம்’ கதா²ம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வைவ ஸோ(அ)நாநியோ பூ⁴மௌ பதந் ப்ராணாந் அத்யஜத், தத்³வ்ரு’த்தாந்தம்’ யாவந்தோ லோகா அஸ்²ரு’ண்வந் தேஷாம்’ ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ மஹாப⁴யம் அஜாயத்|
6 And the young men arose, and wrapt him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
ததா³ யுவலோகாஸ்தம்’ வஸ்த்ரேணாச்சா²த்³ய ப³ஹி ர்நீத்வா ஸ்²மஸா²நே(அ)ஸ்தா²பயந்|
7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what had happened, came in.
தத: ப்ரஹரைகாநந்தரம்’ கிம்’ வ்ரு’த்தம்’ தந்நாவக³த்ய தஸ்ய பா⁴ர்ய்யாபி தத்ர ஸமுபஸ்தி²தா|
8 Peter said to her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much. And she said, Yes, for so much.
தத: பிதரஸ்தாம் அப்ரு’ச்ச²த், யுவாப்⁴யாம் ஏதாவந்முத்³ராப்⁴யோ பூ⁴மி ர்விக்ரீதா ந வா? ஏதத்வம்’ வத³; ததா³ ஸா ப்ரத்யவாதீ³த் ஸத்யம் ஏதாவத்³ப்⁴யோ முத்³ராப்⁴ய ஏவ|
9 And Peter said to her, Why is it that ye agreed together to try the Spirit of the Lord? Lo! the feet of those who have buried thy husband are at the door, and they will carry thee out.
தத: பிதரோகத²யத் யுவாம்’ கத²ம்’ பரமேஸ்²வரஸ்யாத்மாநம்’ பரீக்ஷிதும் ஏகமந்த்ரணாவப⁴வதாம்’? பஸ்²ய யே தவ பதிம்’ ஸ்²மஸா²நே ஸ்தா²பிதவந்தஸ்தே த்³வாரஸ்ய ஸமீபே ஸமுபதிஷ்ட²ந்தி த்வாமபி ப³ஹிர்நேஷ்யந்தி|
10 And she fell down immediately at his feet, and expired; and the young men, when they came in, found her dead, and carried her out, and buried her by her husband.
தத: ஸாபி தஸ்ய சரணஸந்நிதௌ⁴ பதித்வா ப்ராணாந் அத்யாக்ஷீத்| பஸ்²சாத் தே யுவாநோ(அ)ப்⁴யந்தரம் ஆக³த்ய தாமபி ம்ரு’தாம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா ப³ஹி ர்நீத்வா தஸ்யா: பத்யு: பார்ஸ்²வே ஸ்²மஸா²நே ஸ்தா²பிதவந்த: |
11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon all that heard of these things.
தஸ்மாத் மண்ட³ல்யா: ஸர்வ்வே லோகா அந்யலோகாஸ்²ச தாம்’ வார்த்தாம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வா ஸாத்⁴வஸம்’ க³தா: |
12 And many signs and wonders were wrought among the people by the hands of the apostles; and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
தத: பரம்’ ப்ரேரிதாநாம்’ ஹஸ்தை ர்லோகாநாம்’ மத்⁴யே ப³ஹ்வாஸ்²சர்ய்யாண்யத்³பு⁴தாநி கர்ம்மாண்யக்ரியந்த; ததா³ ஸி²ஷ்யா: ஸர்வ்வ ஏகசித்தீபூ⁴ய ஸுலேமாநோ (அ)லிந்தே³ ஸம்பூ⁴யாஸந்|
13 But of the rest no one dared to join himself to them. But the people highly honored them;
தேஷாம்’ ஸங்கா⁴ந்தர்கோ³ ப⁴விதும்’ கோபி ப்ரக³ல்ப⁴தாம்’ நாக³மத் கிந்து லோகாஸ்தாந் ஸமாத்³ரியந்த|
14 and more and more were believers added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women;
ஸ்த்ரிய: புருஷாஸ்²ச ப³ஹவோ லோகா விஸ்²வாஸ்ய ப்ரபு⁴ம்’ ஸ²ரணமாபந்நா: |
15 so that in the streets they brought out the sick, and laid them on beds and couches, in order that at least the shadow of Peter, as he passed, might overshadow some of them.
பிதரஸ்ய க³மநாக³மநாப்⁴யாம்’ கேநாபி ப்ரகாரேண தஸ்ய சா²யா கஸ்மிம்’ஸ்²சிஜ்ஜநே லகி³ஷ்யதீத்யாஸ²யா லோகா ரோகி³ண: ஸி²விகயா க²ட்வயா சாநீய பதி² பதி² ஸ்தா²பிதவந்த: |
16 The multitude also belonging to the cities around came together to Jerusalem bringing the sick, and those plagued by unclean spirits; and they were all healed.
சதுர்தி³க்ஸ்த²நக³ரேப்⁴யோ ப³ஹவோ லோகா: ஸம்பூ⁴ய ரோகி³ணோ(அ)பவித்ரபு⁴தக்³ரஸ்தாம்’ஸ்²ச யிரூஸா²லமம் ஆநயந் தத: ஸர்வ்வே ஸ்வஸ்தா² அக்ரியந்த|
17 But the high-priest and all that were with him, which is the sect of the Sadducees, rose up and were filled with indignation,
அநந்தரம்’ மஹாயாஜக: ஸிதூ³கிநாம்’ மதக்³ராஹிணஸ்தேஷாம்’ ஸஹசராஸ்²ச
18 and laid hands on the apostles, and put them in the public prison.
மஹாக்ரோதா⁴ந்த்விதா: ஸந்த: ப்ரேரிதாந் த்⁴ரு’த்வா நீசலோகாநாம்’ காராயாம்’ ப³த்³த்⁴வா ஸ்தா²பிதவந்த: |
19 But an angel of the Lord in the night opened the prison-doors, and brought them forth and said,
கிந்து ராத்ரௌ பரமேஸ்²வரஸ்ய தூ³த: காராயா த்³வாரம்’ மோசயித்வா தாந் ப³ஹிராநீயாகத²யத்,
20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
யூயம்’ க³த்வா மந்தி³ரே த³ண்டா³யமாநா: ஸந்தோ லோகாந் ப்ரதீமாம்’ ஜீவநதா³யிகாம்’ ஸர்வ்வாம்’ கதா²ம்’ ப்ரசாரயத|
21 And hearing this, they went into the temple at daybreak and taught. But the high-priest and they that were with him came and called together the council, and all the elders of the sons of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
இதி ஸ்²ருத்வா தே ப்ரத்யூஷே மந்தி³ர உபஸ்தா²ய உபதி³ஷ்டவந்த: | ததா³ ஸஹசரக³ணேந ஸஹிதோ மஹாயாஜக ஆக³த்ய மந்த்ரிக³ணம் இஸ்ராயேல்வம்’ஸ²ஸ்ய ஸர்வ்வாந் ராஜஸபா⁴ஸத³: ஸபா⁴ஸ்தா²ந் க்ரு’த்வா காராயாஸ்தாந் ஆபயிதும்’ பதா³திக³ணம்’ ப்ரேரிதவாந்|
22 But the officers that came did not find them in the prison; and they returned and brought word,
ததஸ்தே க³த்வா காராயாம்’ தாந் அப்ராப்ய ப்ரத்யாக³த்ய இதி வார்த்தாம் அவாதி³ஷு: ,
23 saying, The prison we found shut in all security and the keepers standing at the doors: but when we opened them, we found no one within.
வயம்’ தத்ர க³த்வா நிர்வ்விக்⁴நம்’ காராயா த்³வாரம்’ ருத்³த⁴ம்’ ரக்ஷகாம்’ஸ்²ச த்³வாரஸ்ய ப³ஹிர்த³ண்டா³யமாநாந் அத³ர்ஸா²ம ஏவ கிந்து த்³வாரம்’ மோசயித்வா தந்மத்⁴யே கமபி த்³ரஷ்டும்’ ந ப்ராப்தா: |
24 And when the priest, and the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these words, they were at a loss concerning them, to what this would come.
ஏதாம்’ கதா²ம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வா மஹாயாஜகோ மந்தி³ரஸ்ய ஸேநாபதி: ப்ரதா⁴நயாஜகாஸ்²ச, இத பரம்’ கிமபரம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதீதி சிந்தயித்வா ஸந்தி³க்³த⁴சித்தா அப⁴வந்|
25 But one came and brought them word, Lo! the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people.
ஏதஸ்மிந்நேவ ஸமயே கஸ்²சித் ஜந ஆக³த்ய வார்த்தாமேதாம் அவத³த் பஸ்²யத யூயம்’ யாந் மாநவாந் காராயாம் அஸ்தா²பயத தே மந்தி³ரே திஷ்ட²ந்தோ லோகாந் உபதி³ஸ²ந்தி|
26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence, that they might not be stoned; for they feared the people.
ததா³ மந்தி³ரஸ்ய ஸேநாபதி: பதா³தயஸ்²ச தத்ர க³த்வா சேல்லோகா: பாஷாணாந் நிக்ஷிப்யாஸ்மாந் மாரயந்தீதி பி⁴யா விநத்யாசாரம்’ தாந் ஆநயந்|
27 And having brought them, they set them before the council. And the high-priest questioned them,
தே மஹாஸபா⁴யா மத்⁴யே தாந் அஸ்தா²பயந் தத: பரம்’ மஹாயாஜகஸ்தாந் அப்ரு’ச்ச²த்,
28 saying, We strictly commanded you not to teach in this name, and lo! ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and mean to bring this man's blood upon us.
அநேந நாம்நா ஸமுபதே³ஷ்டும்’ வயம்’ கிம்’ த்³ரு’ட⁴ம்’ ந ந்யஷேதா⁴ம? ததா²பி பஸ்²யத யூயம்’ ஸ்வேஷாம்’ தேநோபதே³ஸே²நே யிரூஸா²லமம்’ பரிபூர்ணம்’ க்ரு’த்வா தஸ்ய ஜநஸ்ய ரக்தபாதஜநிதாபராத⁴ம் அஸ்மாந் ப்ரத்யாநேதும்’ சேஷ்டத்⁴வே|
29 But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
தத: பிதரோந்யப்ரேரிதாஸ்²ச ப்ரத்யவத³ந் மாநுஷஸ்யாஜ்ஞாக்³ரஹணாத்³ ஈஸ்²வரஸ்யாஜ்ஞாக்³ரஹணம் அஸ்மாகமுசிதம்|
30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew by hanging him on a cross;
யம்’ யீஸு²ம்’ யூயம்’ க்ருஸே² வேதி⁴த்வாஹத தம் அஸ்மாகம்’ பைத்ரு’க ஈஸ்²வர உத்தா²ப்ய
31 him hath God exalted by his right hand, as a Leader and Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
இஸ்ராயேல்வம்’ஸா²நாம்’ மந: பரிவர்த்தநம்’ பாபக்ஷமாஞ்ச கர்த்தும்’ ராஜாநம்’ பரித்ராதாரஞ்ச க்ரு’த்வா ஸ்வத³க்ஷிணபார்ஸ்²வே தஸ்யாந்நதிம் அகரோத்|
32 And we are his witnesses of these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit which God hath given to those who obey him.
ஏதஸ்மிந் வயமபி ஸாக்ஷிண ஆஸ்மஹே, தத் கேவலம்’ நஹி, ஈஸ்²வர ஆஜ்ஞாக்³ராஹிப்⁴யோ யம்’ பவித்ரம் ஆத்மநம்’ த³த்தவாந் ஸோபி ஸாக்ஷ்யஸ்தி|
33 But when they heard this, they were filled with rage, and were resolving to kill them.
ஏதத்³வாக்யே ஸ்²ருதே தேஷாம்’ ஹ்ரு’த³யாநி வித்³தா⁴ந்யப⁴வந் ததஸ்தே தாந் ஹந்தும்’ மந்த்ரிதவந்த: |
34 But there stood up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, in high esteem with all the people, and commanded to put the men forth a little while,
ஏதஸ்மிந்நேவ ஸமயே தத்ஸபா⁴ஸ்தா²நாம்’ ஸர்வ்வலோகாநாம்’ மத்⁴யே ஸுக்²யாதோ க³மிலீயேல்நாமக ஏகோ ஜநோ வ்யவஸ்தா²பக: பி²ரூஸி²லோக உத்தா²ய ப்ரேரிதாந் க்ஷணார்த²ம்’ ஸ்தா²நாந்தரம்’ க³ந்தும் ஆதி³ஸ்²ய கதி²தவாந்,
35 and said to them [[of the council]], Men of Israel, take heed to yourselves as to what ye are about to do in respect to these men.
ஹே இஸ்ராயேல்வம்’ஸீ²யா: ஸர்வ்வே யூயம் ஏதாந் மாநுஷாந் ப்ரதி யத் கர்த்தும் உத்³யதாஸ்தஸ்மிந் ஸாவதா⁴நா ப⁴வத|
36 For before these days arose Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain, and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and came to nought.
இத: பூர்வ்வம்’ தூ²தா³நாமைகோ ஜந உபஸ்தா²ய ஸ்வம்’ கமபி மஹாபுருஷம் அவத³த், தத: ப்ராயேண சது: ஸ²தலோகாஸ்தஸ்ய மதக்³ராஹிணோப⁴வந் பஸ்²சாத் ஸ ஹதோப⁴வத் தஸ்யாஜ்ஞாக்³ராஹிணோ யாவந்தோ லோகாஸ்தே ஸர்வ்வே விர்கீர்ணா: ஸந்தோ (அ)க்ரு’தகார்ய்யா அப⁴வந்|
37 After this man arose Judas the Galilaean, in the days of the registering, and drew people away after him; he also perished, and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
தஸ்மாஜ்ஜநாத் பரம்’ நாமலேக²நஸமயே கா³லீலீயயிஹூதா³நாமைகோ ஜந உபஸ்தா²ய ப³ஹூல்லோகாந் ஸ்வமதம்’ க்³ராஹீதவாந் தத: ஸோபி வ்யநஸ்²யத் தஸ்யாஜ்ஞாக்³ராஹிணோ யாவந்தோ லோகா ஆஸந் தே ஸர்வ்வே விகீர்ணா அப⁴வந்|
38 And now I say to you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone; for if this design or this work be of men, it will come to nought;
அது⁴நா வதா³மி, யூயம் ஏதாந் மநுஷ்யாந் ப்ரதி கிமபி ந க்ரு’த்வா க்ஷாந்தா ப⁴வத, யத ஏஷ ஸங்கல்ப ஏதத் கர்ம்ம ச யதி³ மநுஷ்யாத³ப⁴வத் தர்ஹி விப²லம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
39 but if it be of God, ye will not be able to overthrow them; lest haply ye be found also fighting against God.
யதீ³ஸ்²வராத³ப⁴வத் தர்ஹி யூயம்’ தஸ்யாந்யதா² கர்த்தும்’ ந ஸ²க்ஷ்யத², வரம் ஈஸ்²வரரோத⁴கா ப⁴விஷ்யத²|
40 And they were persuaded by him; and having called the apostles, they beat them, and commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and released them.
ததா³ தஸ்ய மந்த்ரணாம்’ ஸ்வீக்ரு’த்ய தே ப்ரேரிதாந் ஆஹூய ப்ரஹ்ரு’த்ய யீஸோ² ர்நாம்நா காமபி கதா²ம்’ கத²யிதும்’ நிஷித்⁴ய வ்யஸர்ஜந்|
41 They therefore went away from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame in behalf of that name;
கிந்து தஸ்ய நாமார்த²ம்’ வயம்’ லஜ்ஜாபோ⁴க³ஸ்ய யோக்³யத்வேந க³ணிதா இத்யத்ர தே ஸாநந்தா³: ஸந்த: ஸபா⁴ஸ்தா²நாம்’ ஸாக்ஷாத்³ அக³ச்ச²ந்|
42 and every day, in the temple, and in houses, they ceased not to teach, and to publish the glad tidings concerning Jesus the Christ.
தத: பரம்’ ப்ரதிதி³நம்’ மந்தி³ரே க்³ரு’ஹே க்³ரு’ஹே சாவிஸ்²ராமம் உபதி³ஸ்²ய யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ஸுஸம்’வாத³ம்’ ப்ரசாரிதவந்த: |
