Acts 4
1 And while they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,
| ایشان هنوز مشغول گفتگو با مردم بودند که ناگهان کاهنان اعظم با سرنگهبان معبد و چند تن از فرقهٔ صدوقی‌ها بر ایشان تاختند. |
2 being indignant that they taught the people, and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
| ایشان از اینکه پطرس و یوحنا دربارهٔ زنده شدن عیسی با مردم سخن می‌گفتند، بسیار مضطرب و پریشان شده بودند. |
3 And they laid hands upon them, and put them in prison until the next day; for it was now evening.
| پس آنان را گرفتند و چون عصر بود تا روز بعد زندانی کردند. |
4 Many however of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men became five thousand.
| اما بسیاری از کسانی که پیام ایشان را شنیده بودند، ایمان آوردند و به این ترتیب تعداد ایمانداران به حدود پنج هزار رسید! |
5 And it came to pass on the next day, that their rulers and elders and scribes,
| روز بعد، بزرگان و مشایخ و علمای دین در اورشلیم تشکیل جلسه دادند. |
6 and Annas the high-priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high-priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
| حَنّا کاهن اعظم با قیافا، یوحنا، اسکندر و سایر بستگانش نیز حضور داشتند. |
7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, did ye do this?
| آنگاه پطرس و یوحنا را آوردند و از ایشان پرسیدند: «این کار را به چه قدرت و به چه نامی انجام داده‌اید؟» |
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people, and elders of Israel!
| پطرس که پر از روح‌القدس بود، به ایشان گفت: «ای بزرگانِ قوم و مشایخ، |
9 If we are this day examined in respect to a good deed done to a cripple, by what means he hath been restored,
| اگر منظورتان این کار خیری است که در حق این شخص لنگ کرده‌ایم و می‌پرسید که چگونه شفا پیدا کرده است، |
10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, —by him doth this man stand here before you sound.
| اجازه دهید صریحاً به همۀ شما و تمامی قوم اسرائیل بگویم که این معجزه را در نام عیسی مسیح ناصری و با قدرت او انجام داده‌ایم، یعنی همان کسی که شما بر صلیب کشتید ولی خدا او را زنده کرد. بله، با قدرت اوست که این مرد الان صحیح و سالم اینجا ایستاده است. |
11 This is the stone which was set at nought by you the builders, which is become a cornerstone.
| چون بنا به گفتهٔ کتب مقدّس، عیسی همان سنگی است که شما معمارها رد کردید، ولی سنگ اصلی ساختمان شده است. |
12 And there is salvation in no other; for there is not another name under heaven, that hath been given among men, by which we must be saved.
| غیر از عیسی مسیح کسی نیست که بتواند ما را رستگار سازد! چون در زیر آسمان، نام دیگری وجود ندارد که مردم بتوانند توسط آن از گناه نجات یابند.» |
13 And when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and common men, they wondered; and they recognized them as having been with Jesus.
| وقتی اعضای شورا جرأت و شهامت پطرس و یوحنا را دیدند، مات و مبهوت ماندند، خصوصاً که می‌دیدند افرادی عادی و بدون تحصیلات مذهبی هستند. همچنین پی بردند که ایشان از پیروان عیسی بوده‌اند. |
14 And seeing the man that had been cured standing with them, they could say nothing in reply.
| از طرف دیگر، فقیر لنگ نیز صحیح و سالم کنار ایشان ایستاده بود و نمی‌توانستند شفای او را انکار کنند! |
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
| پس ایشان را از تالار شورا بیرون فرستادند تا با یکدیگر مشورت کنند. |
16 saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a remarkable sign hath been wrought by them is manifest to all that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
| آنان از یکدیگر می‌پرسیدند: «با ایشان چه کنیم؟ ما که نمی‌توانیم منکر این معجزهٔ بزرگ شویم، چون در اورشلیم همه از آن باخبرند. |
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us strictly forbid them with threats to speak any longer in this name to any one.
| ولی شاید بتوانیم جلوی تبلیغاتشان را بگیریم. پس به ایشان می‌گوییم اگر بار دیگر نام عیسی را بر زبان بیاورند و دست به چنین کارهایی بزنند، مسئول عواقب آن خواهند بود.» |
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all, nor teach, in the name of Jesus.
| پس ایشان را احضار کرده، گفتند که دیگر دربارهٔ عیسی با کسی سخن نگویند. |
19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to hearken to you rather than to God, judge ye.
| اما پطرس و یوحنا جواب دادند: «خودتان قضاوت کنید! آیا درست است که به جای اطاعت از حکم خدا، از دستور شما اطاعت کنیم؟ |
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we saw and heard.
| ما نمی‌توانیم آنچه را که از عیسی دیده و شنیده‌ایم، به کسی نگوییم.» |
21 So, having further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, on account of the people; because all were glorifying God for that which had been done.
| پس آن دو را پس از تهدیدهای بیشتر رها کردند، چون نمی‌دانستند چطور مجازاتشان کنند بدون اینکه آشوب تازه‌ای به راه افتد؛ زیرا به خاطر این معجزهٔ بزرگ، همه خدا را شکر می‌کردند. |
22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this sign of the healing had been wrought.
| معجزهٔ شفای مردی که بیش از چهل سال فلج بود! |
23 And being released they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.
| پطرس و یوحنا به محض اینکه آزاد شدند، نزد سایر رسولان عیسی بازگشتند و تصمیمات کاهنان اعظم و مشایخ را برای ایشان بازگو کردند. |
24 And on hearing it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art he that made heaven and earth and sea, and all things that are in them;
| آنگاه تمام ایمانداران با هم دعا کرده، گفتند: «ای خداوند متعال، ای آفرینندۀ آسمان و زمین و دریا و هر آنچه در آنهاست، |
25 who by the mouth of thy servant David said, “Why did the heathen rage, and the peoples meditate vain things?
| تو مدتها پیش به‌وسیلهٔ روح‌القدس از زبان جدّ ما و خدمتگزار خود داوود نبی فرمودی:”چرا قومها شورش می‌کنند؟ چرا ملتها بی‌جهت توطئه می‌چینند؟ |
26 The kings of the earth came up, and the rulers assembled together, against the Lord, and against his Anointed.”
| پادشاهان جهان صف‌آرایی کرده‌اند و رهبران ممالک با هم جمع شده‌اند بر ضد خداوند و مسیح او.“ |
27 For in truth against thy holy servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, did both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the gentiles, and the peoples of Israel, assemble in this city,
| «این درست همان چیزی است که در این شهر رخ داد، زیرا هیرودیس پادشاه، و پونتیوس پیلاتُس فرماندار، و غیریهودیان، با قوم اسرائیل، ضد عیسی مسیح، خدمتگزار مقدّس تو همدست شدند، |
28 to do whatever thy hand and thy will before determined to be done.
| تا کاری را انجام دهند که قدرت و ارادۀ تو از پیش مقدّر کرده بود. |
29 And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings, and grant to thy servants that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
| و حال، ای خداوند، به تهدیدهای ایشان گوش کن و به ما خدمتگزاران خود جرأت بده تا پیام تو را به مردم برسانیم. |
30 while thou stretchest forth thy hand to heal, and signs and wonders are wrought through the name of thy holy servant Jesus.
| قدرت شفابخش خود را نیز به ما عطا فرما تا به‌وسیلۀ نام خدمتگزار مقدّس تو عیسی، معجزات بزرگ و کارهای عجیب انجام دهیم.» |
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
| پس از این دعا، خانه‌ای که در آن بودند به لرزه درآمد و همه از روح‌القدس پر شدند و پیام خدا را با جرأت به مردم رساندند. |
32 And the multitude of those who believed were of one heart, and of one soul; and not one of them said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
| تمام ایمانداران با هم یکدل و یکرأی بودند، و کسی دارایی خود را از آن خود نمی‌دانست، چون هر چه را که داشتند، با هم قسمت می‌کردند. |
33 And with great power did the apostles give their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus; and great grace was upon them all.
| رسولان دربارهٔ زنده شدن عیسای خداوند با قدرتی عظیم شهادت می‌دادند، و فیض خدا نیرومندانه در ایشان عمل می‌کرد. |
34 For there was no one among them that was in want; for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
| کسی نیز محتاج نبود، چون هر کس زمین یا خانه‌ای داشت، می‌فروخت و پولش را |
35 and laid them at the feet of the apostles; and distribution was made to every one, according as he had need.
| به رسولان می‌داد تا بین نیازمندان تقسیم کنند. |
36 And Joseph, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, when interpreted, Son of consolation, ) a Levite, born in Cyprus,
| برای مثال، شخصی بود به نام یوسف که رسولان او را برنابا یعنی «مُشوّق» لقب داده بودند! او از قبیلهٔ لاوی و اهل قبرس بود. |
37 having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the feet of the apostles.
| او مزرعهٔ خود را فروخت و پولش را آورد و پیش قدمهای رسولان گذاشت. |
