< Acts 4 >

1 And while they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,
Peter amadi John-na miyam aduda wa nganglingeida purohitsing, Mapugi Sanglen ngakpasinggi makok amadi Sadducee khara laklammi.
2 being indignant that they taught the people, and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

3 And they laid hands upon them, and put them in prison until the next day; for it was now evening.

4 Many however of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men became five thousand.

5 And it came to pass on the next day, that their rulers and elders and scribes,
Mathanggi numitta Jihudisinggi luchingbasing, ahal lamansing, Wayel Yathanggi ojasingna Jerusalem-da tillammi.
6 and Annas the high-priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high-priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
Makhoina Purohitlen Annas, Caiaphas, John, Alexander amadi Purohitlen-gi mari-matasingga unarammi.
7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, did ye do this?
Makhoina John amadi Peter-bu makhoigi mangda lep-hallaga hanglak-i, “Kari panggalna nattraga kanagi mingda masi touribano”
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people, and elders of Israel!
Madudagi Peter-na Thawai Asengbana thalladuna makhoida hairak-i, “Miyamgi luchingbasing amadi ahal lamansing,

12 And there is salvation in no other; for there is not another name under heaven, that hath been given among men, by which we must be saved.

13 And when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and common men, they wondered; and they recognized them as having been with Jesus.

15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
Maram aduna makhoina Peter amadi John-bu Sanhedrin-dagi thokkhinaba yathang pirammi aduga makhoi masel wa tanarammi.
16 saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a remarkable sign hath been wrought by them is manifest to all that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
Makhoi amaga amaga hangnarak-i, “Makhoida eikhoina kari tousige? Makhoina angakpa thabak ama toure haibasi Jerusalem-da leiba mi pumnamakna khang-i. Madu eikhoina yadaba ngamloi.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us strictly forbid them with threats to speak any longer in this name to any one.
Adubu masi makha tana misinggi marakta sandoktanaba Jisugi ming sijinnaduna misingda ngangdanaba akanba mawongda kihansi.”
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all, nor teach, in the name of Jesus.
Maram aduna makhoina pakhonchatpasing adubu amuk kousille aduga makhoida Jisugi ming sijinnaduna amuk hanna ngangdanaba amadi tambidanaba yathang pire.
19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to hearken to you rather than to God, judge ye.
Maduda Peter amadi John-na makhoida khumlak-i, “Nakhoina haiba inbaga Tengban Mapuna haiba inbaga Tengban Mapugi mityengda karambana chumgani haibadu nakhoi wayel tou.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we saw and heard.
Eikhoina ukhraba amadi takhraba adu eikhoi haidaba ngamloi”
21 So, having further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, on account of the people; because all were glorifying God for that which had been done.

24 And on hearing it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art he that made heaven and earth and sea, and all things that are in them;

31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
