Acts 4
1 And while they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,
೧ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಯಾಜಕರೂ, ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯೂ, ಸದ್ದುಕಾಯರೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬಂದರು.
2 being indignant that they taught the people, and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
೨ಯೇಸುವಿನ ದೃಷ್ಟಾಂತದಿಂದ ಸತ್ತವರಿಗೆ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನವಾಗುವುದೆಂದು ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೋಪ ಬಂತು.
3 And they laid hands upon them, and put them in prison until the next day; for it was now evening.
೩ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಆಗಲೇ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲವಾದ್ದದರಿಂದ ಮರುದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ಕಾವಲಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟರು.
4 Many however of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men became five thousand.
೪ಆದರೆ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರು ನಂಬಿದರು; ಗಂಡಸರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಸುಮಾರು ಐದು ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿತು.
5 And it came to pass on the next day, that their rulers and elders and scribes,
೫ಮರುದಿನ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳೂ, ಹಿರಿಯರೂ, ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದರು.
6 and Annas the high-priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high-priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
೬ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅನ್ನನೆಂಬ ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನೂ, ಕಾಯಫನೂ, ಯೋಹಾನನೂ, ಅಲೆಕ್ಸಾಂದ್ರನೂ, ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಕರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಇದ್ದರು.
7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, did ye do this?
೭ಇವರು ಪೇತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಹಾನನ್ನು ನಡುವೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ “ನೀವು ಯಾವ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಯಾರ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು,
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people, and elders of Israel!
೮ಪೇತ್ರನು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮಭರಿತನಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ; “ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳೇ, ಹಿರಿಯರೇ,
9 If we are this day examined in respect to a good deed done to a cripple, by what means he hath been restored,
೯ಒಬ್ಬ ಅಂಗಹೀನನಿಗೆ ಆದ ಉಪಕಾರದ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥವಾಯಿತು ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, —by him doth this man stand here before you sound.
೧೦ನೀವು ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಸಿದಂತಹ ಮತ್ತು ದೇವರು ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದಂತಹ ನಜರೇತಿನ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದಲೇ ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸೌಖ್ಯಹೊಂದಿದದವನಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮೆದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಮತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಈ ಸಂಗತಿ ತಿಳಿದಿರಲಿ.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought by you the builders, which is become a cornerstone.
೧೧“ಮನೆಕಟ್ಟುವವರಾದ ನೀವು ಬೇಡವೆಂದು ಬಿಟ್ಟಕಲ್ಲೇ ಆತನು; ಆತನೇ ಬಹು ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದ ಮೂಲೆಗಲ್ಲಾದನು.
12 And there is salvation in no other; for there is not another name under heaven, that hath been given among men, by which we must be saved.
೧೨ಬರಬೇಕಾದ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯು ಇನ್ನಾರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದಲೇ ಹೊರತು ಆಕಾಶದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಮತ್ತ್ಯಾವ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದಲೂ ನಮಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
13 And when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and common men, they wondered; and they recognized them as having been with Jesus.
೧೩ಪೇತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಹಾನನ್ನು ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಆ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನೋಡಿ ಅವರು ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಭ್ಯಾಸಮಾಡದ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
14 And seeing the man that had been cured standing with them, they could say nothing in reply.
೧೪ಇವರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದವರೆಂದು ಗುರುತು ಹಿಡಿದರು. ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಷೇಮ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿಂತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ಏನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಲಾರದೆ ಇದ್ದರು.
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
೧೫ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಭೆಯಿಂದ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರೆಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು,
16 saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a remarkable sign hath been wrought by them is manifest to all that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
೧೬“ಇವರನ್ನು ನಾವೇನು ಮಾಡೋಣ? ಬಹು ಅಪರೂಪವಾದ ಒಂದು ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವು ಇವರ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಿತೆಂಬುದು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಿದೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಗಳೆಯುವಂತಿಲ್ಲ.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us strictly forbid them with threats to speak any longer in this name to any one.
೧೭ಆದರೆ ಇದು ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹರಡದಂತೆ ಮುಂದೆ ಆ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಯಾರ ಸಂಗಡಲೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಬಾರದೆಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬೆದರಿಸೋಣ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.”
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all, nor teach, in the name of Jesus.
೧೮ಆಗ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲೂ ಎತ್ತಬಾರದು ಹಾಗು ಉಪದೇಶ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to hearken to you rather than to God, judge ye.
೧೯ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಪೇತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಹಾನನ್ನು; ಅವರಿಗೆ “ದೇವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದು ಸರಿಯೇ? ಅದು ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನ್ಯಾಯವೋ? ನೀವೇ ತೀರ್ಪು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ;
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we saw and heard.
೨೦ನಾವಂತೂ ಕಂಡು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಹೇಳದೆ ಇರಲಾರೆವು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
21 So, having further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, on account of the people; because all were glorifying God for that which had been done.
೨೧ನಡೆದಿದ್ದ ಸೂಚಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ಸಭೆಯವರು ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರನ್ನು ದಂಡಿಸತಕ್ಕ ಉಪಾಯವನ್ನು ಕಾಣದೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಬೆದರಿಸಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this sign of the healing had been wrought.
೨೨ಈ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ನಲವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವಯಸ್ಸಾಗಿತ್ತು.
23 And being released they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.
೨೩ಅವರು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಹೊಂದಿ ಸ್ವಂತ ಜನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರೂ ಹಿರಿಯರೂ ತಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
24 And on hearing it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art he that made heaven and earth and sea, and all things that are in them;
೨೪ಅವರು ಕೇಳಿ ಏಕಮನಸ್ಸು ಉಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾದ ಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ ಹೀಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದರು; , “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಭೂಮ್ಯಾಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಸಮುದ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನೂ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದಾತನೇ,
25 who by the mouth of thy servant David said, “Why did the heathen rage, and the peoples meditate vain things?
೨೫ನೀನು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾಗಿದ್ದ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃವಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ, “‘ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳು ಏಕೆ ಆಕ್ರೋಶಗೊಂಡರು? ಜನಾಂಗಗಳವರು ಏಕೆ ವ್ಯರ್ಥಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಯೋಚಿಸುವರು?
26 The kings of the earth came up, and the rulers assembled together, against the Lord, and against his Anointed.”
೨೬ಕರ್ತನಿಗೂ ಆತನು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿದವನಿಗೂ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಭೂಲೋಕದ ರಾಜರು, ಸನ್ನದ್ಧರಾಗಿ ನಿಂತರು, ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡರು’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಸಿದಿಯಲ್ಲವೇ?
27 For in truth against thy holy servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, did both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the gentiles, and the peoples of Israel, assemble in this city,
೨೭ಆ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಅನುಸಾರವಾಗಿಯೇ ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆರೋದನೂ, ಪೊಂತ್ಯ ಪಿಲಾತನೂ, ನೀನು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿದ ನಿನ್ನ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಅನ್ಯಜನರೊಡನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಜನರೊಡನೆ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡು,
28 to do whatever thy hand and thy will before determined to be done.
೨೮ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪವೂ ಮೊದಲು ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೇ ನಡಿಸಿದರು.
29 And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings, and grant to thy servants that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
೨೯ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಈಗ ನೀನು ಅವರ ಬೆದರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ರೋಗ ಪರಿಹಾರವೂ, ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯಗಳೂ, ಅದ್ಭುತಕಾರ್ಯಗಳೂ ಜರಗುವಂತೆ
30 while thou stretchest forth thy hand to heal, and signs and wonders are wrought through the name of thy holy servant Jesus.
೩೦ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಚಾಚುತ್ತಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸರು, ನಿನ್ನ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಹೇಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸು” ಅಂದರು.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
೩೧ಹೀಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅವರು ನೆರೆದಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳವು ನಡುಗಿತು. ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ಭರಿತರಾಗಿ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಹೇಳತೊಡಗಿದರು.
32 And the multitude of those who believed were of one heart, and of one soul; and not one of them said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
೩೨ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದವರ ಹೃದಯವೂ, ಪ್ರಾಣವೂ ಒಂದೇ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಯಾರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವತ್ತನ್ನು ತನ್ನದು ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸದೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಹುದುವಾಗಿ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
33 And with great power did the apostles give their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus; and great grace was upon them all.
೩೩ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರು ಬಹು ಬಲವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು; ದೇವರ ದಯವು ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
34 For there was no one among them that was in want; for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
೩೪ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊರತೆಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದವನೂ ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಹೊಲಮನೆಗಳಿದ್ದವರು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರಿ ಬಂದ ಹಣವನ್ನು ತಂದು
35 and laid them at the feet of the apostles; and distribution was made to every one, according as he had need.
೩೫ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರ ಪಾದಗಳ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು; ಅದನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಅವನವನ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಹಂಚಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
36 And Joseph, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, when interpreted, Son of consolation, ) a Levite, born in Cyprus,
೩೬ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದವರೊಳಗೆ ಕುಪ್ರದ್ವೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಲೇವಿಯನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಯೋಸೇಫನೆಂಬವನು ಒಬ್ಬನು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರು ಬಾರ್ನಬ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು, ಅಂದರೆ ಧೈರ್ಯದಾಯಕ ಎಂದರ್ಥ.
37 having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the feet of the apostles.
೩೭ಅವನು ತನಗಿದ್ದ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾರಿ ಬಂದ ಹಣವನ್ನು ತಂದು ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರ ಪಾದಗಳ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.
