Acts 4
1 And while they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,
Als sie so zu dem Volke redeten, traten zu ihnen die Priester und der Tempelhauptmann und die Sadduzäer;
2 being indignant that they taught the people, and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
Die es verdroß, daß sie das Volk lehrten und an Jesus die Auferstehung von den Toten verkündigten.
3 And they laid hands upon them, and put them in prison until the next day; for it was now evening.
Und legten die Hände an sie und nahmen sie in Gewahrsam für den morgenden Tag; denn es war schon Abend.
4 Many however of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men became five thousand.
Aber viele von denen, so die Rede gehört, wurden gläubig, und die Zahl der Männer ward bei fünftausend.
5 And it came to pass on the next day, that their rulers and elders and scribes,
Am Morgen aber versammelten sich die Obern und Ältesten und die Schriftgelehrten gen Jerusalem,
6 and Annas the high-priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high-priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
Und Hannas, der Hohepriester, und Kaiaphas und Johannes und Alexander; und so viel ihrer vom Geschlechte der Hohenpriester waren;
7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, did ye do this?
Und ließen sie vorführen in ihre Mitte und fragten sie: Aus welcher Macht und in wessen Namen habt ihr das getan?
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people, and elders of Israel!
Da ward Petrus vom Heiligen Geist erfüllt und sprach zu ihnen: Ihr Obern des Volkes und ihr Ältesten Israels!
9 If we are this day examined in respect to a good deed done to a cripple, by what means he hath been restored,
Wenn wir heute verhört werden wegen der Wohltat an einem Kranken und durch wen er ist gesund geworden,
10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, —by him doth this man stand here before you sound.
So sei euch allen und allem Volke Israel kundgetan, daß er durch den Namen des Jesus Christus von Nazareth, Den ihr gekreuzigt habt, Den Gott von den Toten auferweckt hat, durch Diesen der Mann gesund vor euren Augen steht.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought by you the builders, which is become a cornerstone.
Das ist der Stein, den die Bauleute verworfen haben, der zum Eckstein geworden ist.
12 And there is salvation in no other; for there is not another name under heaven, that hath been given among men, by which we must be saved.
Und ist in keinem anderen das Heil; denn kein anderer Name unter dem Himmel ist den Menschen gegeben, durch den wir könnten selig werden.
13 And when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and common men, they wondered; and they recognized them as having been with Jesus.
Da sie nun die Freimütigkeit des Petrus und Johannes sahen, und wußten, daß sie ungelehrte Leute und Laien waren, verwunderten sie sich denn sie kannten sie, daß sie mit Jesus gewesen waren;
14 And seeing the man that had been cured standing with them, they could say nothing in reply.
Und den Mann, der geheilt worden war, bei ihnen stehen, wußten sie nichts dagegen zu sagen;
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
Sondern hießen sie aus der Versammlung abtreten, berieten sich miteinander und sprachen:
16 saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a remarkable sign hath been wrought by them is manifest to all that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
Was fangen wir mit diesen Leuten an? Denn ein kundbares Zeichen ist durch sie geschehen, und offenbar vor den Augen aller, die in Jerusalem wohnen, und wir können es nicht verleugnen.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us strictly forbid them with threats to speak any longer in this name to any one.
Damit es sich aber nicht weiter unter dem Volk verbreite, wollen wir sie ernstlich bedrohen, daß sie hinfort niemanden von diesem Namen sagen.
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all, nor teach, in the name of Jesus.
Und riefen sie herein und geboten ihnen, durchaus im Namen Jesus nicht zu reden, noch zu lehren.
19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to hearken to you rather than to God, judge ye.
Petrus aber und Johannes antworteten ihnen und sprachen: Richtet selbst, ob es recht ist vor Gott, daß wir euch mehr gehorchen als Gott;
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we saw and heard.
Denn wir können nicht schweigen von dem, was wir gesehen und gehört haben.
21 So, having further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, on account of the people; because all were glorifying God for that which had been done.
Sie bedrohten sie aber noch weiter, und ließen sie dann gehen, da sie nichts fanden, wie sie sie bestrafen könnten, um des Volkes willen; denn sie priesen alle Gott ob dem, das geschehen war.
22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this sign of the healing had been wrought.
Denn der Mann, an dem dieses Heilwunder geschehen, war über vierzig Jahre alt.
23 And being released they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.
Als man sie freigelassen, kamen sie zu den Ihrigen und verkündeten, was die Hohenpriester und Ältesten zu ihnen gesagt hatten.
24 And on hearing it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art he that made heaven and earth and sea, and all things that are in them;
Da sie das hörten, erhoben sie einmütig ihre Stimme zu Gott und sprachen: Herr, Gott, Der den Himmel und die Erde und das Meer und alles, was darin ist, geschaffen hat;
25 who by the mouth of thy servant David said, “Why did the heathen rage, and the peoples meditate vain things?
Der Du durch den Mund Davids, Deines Knechtes, gesprochen hast: Warum tobten die Völker, und sannen Eitles die Völkerschaften?
26 The kings of the earth came up, and the rulers assembled together, against the Lord, and against his Anointed.”
Die Könige der Erde sind aufgetreten und die Fürsten versammelt zu Hauf wider den Herrn und Seinen Christus.
27 For in truth against thy holy servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, did both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the gentiles, and the peoples of Israel, assemble in this city,
Es haben sich in Wahrheit versammelt wider Deinen heiligen Sohn Jesus, Den Du gesalbt hast, Herodes und Pontius mit den Heiden und denen vom Volk Israel,
28 to do whatever thy hand and thy will before determined to be done.
Zu tun, was Deine Hand und Dein Rat zuvor bestimmt hatte, was geschehen sollte.
29 And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings, and grant to thy servants that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
Und nun, Herr, siehe an ihre Drohungen und verleih Deinen Knechten, mit allem Freimut zu reden Dein Wort;
30 while thou stretchest forth thy hand to heal, and signs and wonders are wrought through the name of thy holy servant Jesus.
Und strecke Deine Hand aus zur Heilung, und laß Zeichen und Wunder durch den Namen Deines heiligen Sohnes Jesus geschehen.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Und als sie so beteten, erbebte die Stätte, da sie versammelt waren, und alle wurden des Heiligen Geistes voll, und verkündeten mit Freimut das Wort Gottes.
32 And the multitude of those who believed were of one heart, and of one soul; and not one of them said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
Die Menge aber der Gläubigen war ein Herz und eine Seele, auch sagte keiner von seinen Gütern, daß sie sein wären, vielmehr hatten sie alles miteinander gemein.
33 And with great power did the apostles give their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus; and great grace was upon them all.
Und mit großer Kraft gaben die Apostel Zeugnis von der Auferstehung des Herrn Jesus, und war große Gnade bei ihnen allen.
34 For there was no one among them that was in want; for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
Es war auch keiner unter ihnen, der Mangel litt; denn wie viele derselben Grundstücke oder Häuser besaßen, die verkauften dieselben und brachten den Erlös des Verkauften,
35 and laid them at the feet of the apostles; and distribution was made to every one, according as he had need.
Und legten es zu den Füßen der Apostel, und wurde davon einem jeden gegeben, so viel er bedurfte.
36 And Joseph, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, when interpreted, Son of consolation, ) a Levite, born in Cyprus,
So tat Joses, von den Aposteln Barnabas benannt, was verdolmetscht heißt: Sohn des Trostes, ein Levit, aus Zypern gebürtig.
37 having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the feet of the apostles.
Er hatte ein Grundstück, verkaufte es, brachte das Geld und legte es zu den Füßen der Apostel nieder.
