Acts 4
1 And while they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,
১যখন পিতর এবং যোহন লোকেদের কাছে কথা বলছিলেন ঠিক সেদিনের যাজকেরা ও ধর্মধামের মন্দির রক্ষকদের সর্দার এবং সদ্দূকীরা তাড়াতাড়ি তাদের কাছে এসে হাজির হলেন।
2 being indignant that they taught the people, and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
২তারা গভীর সমস্যায় পড়েছিল কারণ তারা লোকেদের উপদেশ দিতেন এবং যীশু যে মৃতদের মধ্য থেকে পুনরুত্থান হয়েছেন তা প্রচার করতেন।
3 And they laid hands upon them, and put them in prison until the next day; for it was now evening.
৩আর তারা তাদেরকে ধরে পরের দিন পর্যন্ত আটকে রেখেছিলেন,
4 Many however of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men became five thousand.
৪কারণ তখন সন্ধ্যা হয়ে গিয়েছিল, তবুও যারা কথা শুনছিল তাদের মধ্যে অনেকে বিশ্বাস করেছিল, তাদের মধ্যে পুরুষের সংখ্যা কমবেশি পাঁচ হাজার মতো ছিল।
5 And it came to pass on the next day, that their rulers and elders and scribes,
৫পরের দিন লোকেদের শাসকেরা, প্রাচীনেরা ও শিক্ষা গুরুরা যিরুশালেমে সমেবেত হয়েছিলেন,
6 and Annas the high-priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high-priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
৬এবং হানন মহাযাজক, কায়াফা, যোহন, আলেকসান্দর, আর মহাযাজকের নিজের লোকেরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, did ye do this?
৭তারা তাদেরকে মধ্যিখানে দাঁড় করিয়ে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন কি ক্ষমতায় বা কার নামে তোমরা এই কাজ করেছ?
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people, and elders of Israel!
৮তখন পিতর পবিত্র আত্মায় পরিপূর্ণ হয়ে তাদেরকে বলেছিলেন হে লোকেদের শাসকেরা ও প্রাচীনবর্গ,
9 If we are this day examined in respect to a good deed done to a cripple, by what means he hath been restored,
৯একটি দুর্বল মানুষের উপকার করার জন্য যদি আজ আমাদেরকে জিজ্ঞাসা করা হয় কিভাবে এই লোকটি সুস্থ হয়েছে,
10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, —by him doth this man stand here before you sound.
১০তবে আপনারা সকলে ও সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলবাসী এই জানুক যে, নাসরতীয় যীশু খ্রীষ্টের নামে যাকে আপনারা ক্রুশে দিয়েছিলেন, যাকে ঈশ্বর মৃতদের মধ্য থেকে উঠিয়েছিলেন, তাঁরই গুনে এই ব্যক্তি আপনাদের কাছে সুস্থ শরীরে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে।
11 This is the stone which was set at nought by you the builders, which is become a cornerstone.
১১তিনি সেই পাথর যেটি গাঁথকেরা যে আপনারা আপনাদের দ্বারাই অবহেলিত হয়েছিল, যা কোন প্রধান প্রস্তর হয়ে উঠেছে।
12 And there is salvation in no other; for there is not another name under heaven, that hath been given among men, by which we must be saved.
১২আর অন্য কারোও কাছে পরিত্রান নেই, কারণ আকাশের নীচে ও মানুষদের মধ্যে দত্ত এমন আর কোনোও নাম নেই যে নামে আমরা পরিত্রান পেতে পারি।
13 And when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and common men, they wondered; and they recognized them as having been with Jesus.
১৩সেদিন পিতর ও যোহনের সাহস দেখে এবং এরা যে অশিক্ষিত সাধারণ লোক এটা দেখে তারা অবাক হয়েছিলেন এবং চিনতে পারলেন যে এঁরা যীশুর সঙ্গে ছিলেন।
14 And seeing the man that had been cured standing with them, they could say nothing in reply.
১৪আর ঐ সুস্থ ব্যক্তিটি তাঁদের সঙ্গে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে দেখে তারা তাঁদের বিরুদ্ধে কিছু বলতে পারলো না।
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
১৫কিন্তু তারা প্রেরিতদের সভা কক্ষ থেকে বাইরে যেতে আজ্ঞা দিলেন এবং নিজেদের মধ্যে আলোচনা করতে থাকলো
16 saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a remarkable sign hath been wrought by them is manifest to all that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
১৬যে এই লোকেদের নিয়ে কি করা যায়? কারণ তারা যে অলৌকিক কাজ করেছিল তা যিরূশালেমের লোকেরা জেনে গিয়েছিল; আমরা তা অস্বীকার করতে পারি না।
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us strictly forbid them with threats to speak any longer in this name to any one.
১৭কিন্তু এই কথা যেন লোকেদের মধ্যে না ছড়ায়, তাই তারা এদের ভয় দেখিয়ে বলল তারা যেন এই নামে কাউকে কিছু না বলে।
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all, nor teach, in the name of Jesus.
১৮তাই তারা পিতর এবং যোহনকে ভিতরে ডাকলো এবং তাঁদের নির্দেশ করলো কাউকে যেন কিছু না বলে এবং যীশুর নামে শিক্ষা না দেয়।
19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to hearken to you rather than to God, judge ye.
১৯পিতর ও যোহন উত্তর দিয়ে তাদের বললেন, “ঈশ্বরের কথা ছেড়ে আপনাদের কথা শুনা ঈশ্বরের দৃষ্টিতে উচিত কিনা আপনারা বিচার করুন।
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we saw and heard.
২০কিন্তু আমরা যা দেখেছি ও শুনেছি তা না বলে থাকতে পারিনা”
21 So, having further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, on account of the people; because all were glorifying God for that which had been done.
২১পরে তারা পিতর ও যোহনকে আরোও ভয় দেখিয়ে ছেড়ে দিলেন। কারণ লোকের ভয়ে তাঁদের শাস্তি দেবার পেল না কারণ যা করা হয়েছিল তার জন্য সমস্ত লোক ঈশ্বরের গৌরব করছিল
22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this sign of the healing had been wrought.
২২যে ব্যক্তি এই অলৌকিক কাজের দ্বারা সুস্থ হয়েছিল তিনি কমবেশ চল্লিশ বছরের উপরে ছিলেন।
23 And being released they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.
২৩তাদের ছেড়ে দেওয়ার পর তারা নিজেদের সঙ্গীদের কাছে গেলেন এবং প্রধান যাজক ও প্রাচীনরা তাদের যে কথা বলেছিল তা তাদের জানালেন।
24 And on hearing it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art he that made heaven and earth and sea, and all things that are in them;
২৪যখন তারা একথা শুনেছিল তারা একসঙ্গে উচ্চস্বরে ঈশ্বরের জন্য বলেছিল, প্রভু তুমি যিনি আকাশমণ্ডল, পৃথিবী, সমুদ্র এবং তার মধ্যে যা কিছু আছে সব কিছুর সৃষ্টি কর্তা।
25 who by the mouth of thy servant David said, “Why did the heathen rage, and the peoples meditate vain things?
২৫তুমি তোমার দাস আমাদের পিতা দাউদের মুখ থেকে পবিত্র আত্মার দ্বারা কথা বলেছ যেমন অযিহূদীরা কেন কলহ করল? লোকেরা কেন অনর্থক বিষয়ে ধ্যান করল?
26 The kings of the earth came up, and the rulers assembled together, against the Lord, and against his Anointed.”
২৬পৃথিবীর রাজারা একসঙ্গে দাঁড়ালো, শাসকেরা একসঙ্গে জমায়েত হলো প্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে এবং তাঁর অভিষিক্ত খ্রীষ্টের বিরুদ্ধে;
27 For in truth against thy holy servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, did both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the gentiles, and the peoples of Israel, assemble in this city,
২৭কারণ সত্যি যীশু যিনি তোমার পবিত্র দাস যাকে তুমি অভিষিক্ত করেছ, তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে হেরোদ ও পন্তীয় পীলাত অযিহূদীদেরও এবং ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের সঙ্গে মিলিত হয়েছিল,
28 to do whatever thy hand and thy will before determined to be done.
২৮যেন তোমার হাতের ও তোমার জ্ঞানের দ্বারা আগে যে সমস্ত বিষয় ঠিক করা হয়েছিল তা সম্পন্ন করে।
29 And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings, and grant to thy servants that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
২৯আর এখন হে প্রভু তাদের ভয় প্রদর্শনের প্রতি দেখো; এবং তোমার এই দাসেদের দৃঢ় সাহসের সঙ্গে তোমার কথা বলার শক্তি দাও, রোগ ভালো হয় তাই আশীর্বাদ করো;
30 while thou stretchest forth thy hand to heal, and signs and wonders are wrought through the name of thy holy servant Jesus.
৩০আর তোমার পবিত্র দাস যীশুর নামে যেন চিহ্ন ও আর্শ্চয্য কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়।
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
৩১তারা যে স্থানে একত্র হয়ে প্রার্থনা করেছিলেন সেই মুহূর্তে সেই জায়গায় কেঁপে উঠেছিল এবং তাঁরা সকলে পবিত্র আত্মায় পূর্ণ হলেন ও সাহসের সঙ্গে ঈশ্বরের বাক্য প্রচার করতে থাকলেন।
32 And the multitude of those who believed were of one heart, and of one soul; and not one of them said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
৩২আর যে বহুলোক যারা বিশ্বাস করেছিল, তারা এক হৃদয় ও এক প্রাণের বিশ্বাসী ছিল; তাদের একজনও নিজের সম্পত্তির মধ্যে কিছুই নিজের বলত না, কিন্তু তাদের সব কিছু সর্ব সাধারণের থাকত।
33 And with great power did the apostles give their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus; and great grace was upon them all.
৩৩আর প্রেরিতরা খুব ক্ষমতার সঙ্গে প্রভু যীশুর পুনরুত্থান বিষয়ে সাক্ষ্য দিতেন এবং তাদের সকলের ওপরে মহা অনুগ্রহ ছিল।
34 For there was no one among them that was in want; for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
৩৪এমনকি তাদের মধ্যে কেউই গরিব ছিল না; কারণ যারা জমির অথবা ঘর বাড়ির অধিকারী ছিল, তারা তা বিক্রি করে সম্পত্তির টাকা আনতো
35 and laid them at the feet of the apostles; and distribution was made to every one, according as he had need.
৩৫এবং তারা প্রেরিতদের পায়ের কাছে রাখতো, পরে যার যেমন দরকার তাকে তেমন দেওয়া হত।
36 And Joseph, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, when interpreted, Son of consolation, ) a Levite, born in Cyprus,
৩৬আর যোষেফ যাকে প্রেরিতরা বার্ণবা নাম দিয়েছিলেন অনুবাদ করলে এই নামের মানে উৎসাহদাতা, যিনি লেবীয় ও সেই ব্যক্তি যিনি কুপ্র দ্বীপে থাকেন,
37 having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the feet of the apostles.
৩৭তার এক টুকরো জমি ছিল, তিনি তা বিক্রি করে তার টাকা এনে প্রেরিতদের চরণে রাখলেন।
