Acts 2
1 And on the day of Pentecost they were all together in one place.

2 And suddenly there came out of heaven a sound, as of a rushing mighty wind; and it filled the whole house where they were sitting;
Ansızın gökten, güçlü bir rüzgarın esişini andıran bir ses geldi ve bulundukları evi tümüyle doldurdu.
3 and there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributing themselves; and one sat upon each of them.
Ateşten dillere benzer bir şeylerin dağılıp her birinin üzerine indiğini gördüler.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, even as the Spirit gave them utterance.
İmanlıların hepsi Kutsal Ruh'la doldular, Ruh'un onları konuşturduğu başka dillerle konuşmaya başladılar.
5 Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.
O sırada Yeruşalim'de, dünyanın her ülkesinden gelmiş dindar Yahudiler bulunuyordu.
6 And when this sound took place, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because every one heard them speaking in his own language.
Sesin duyulması üzerine büyük bir kalabalık toplandı. Herkes kendi dilinin konuşulduğunu duyunca şaşakaldı.
7 And they were amazed, and marveled, saying, Behold, are not all these who speak Galilaeans?
Hayret ve şaşkınlık içinde, “Bakın, bu konuşanların hepsi Celileli değil mi?” diye sordular.
8 and how is it that we every one hear them in our own language, wherein we were born?
“Nasıl oluyor da her birimiz kendi ana dilini işitiyor?
9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and those who inhabit Mesopotamia, Judaea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
Aramızda Partlar, Medler, Elamlılar var. Mezopotamya'da, Yahudiye ve Kapadokya'da, Pontus ve Asya İli'nde, Frikya ve Pamfilya'da, Mısır ve Libya'nın Kirene'ye yakın bölgelerinde yaşayanlar var. Hem Yahudi hem de Yahudiliğe dönen Romalı konuklar, Giritliler ve Araplar var aramızda. Ama her birimiz Tanrı'nın büyük işlerinin kendi dilimizde konuşulduğunu işitiyoruz.”
10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and Romans who sojourn here, both Jews and Proselytes,
11 Cretans and Arabians—how is it that we hear them speaking in our tongues the wonderful works of God?
12 And they were all amazed and were in doubt, saying one to another, What can this mean?
Hepsi hayret ve şaşkınlık içinde birbirlerine, “Bunun anlamı ne?” diye sordular.
13 Others making sport of it, said, They are full of new wine.
Başkalarıysa, “Bunlar taze şarabı fazla kaçırmış” diye alay ettiler.
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them, Men of Judea, and all that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known to you, and hearken to my words.
Bunun üzerine Onbirler'le birlikte öne çıkan Petrus yüksek sesle kalabalığa şöyle seslendi: “Ey Yahudiler ve Yeruşalim'de bulunan herkes, bu durumu size açıklayayım. Sözlerime kulak verin. Bu adamlar, sandığınız gibi sarhoş değiller. Saat daha sabahın dokuzu!
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose; for it is the third hour of the day;
16 but this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel,
Bu gördüğünüz, Peygamber Yoel aracılığıyla önceden bildirilen olaydır: ‘Son günlerde, diyor Tanrı, Bütün insanların üzerine Ruhum'u dökeceğim. Oğullarınız, kızlarınız peygamberlikte bulunacaklar. Gençleriniz görümler, Yaşlılarınız düşler görecek.
17 “It shall be in the last days, saith God, that I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams;
18 and even on my servants, and on my handmaids, I will pour out of my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
O günler kadın erkek Kullarımın üzerine Ruhum'u dökeceğim, Onlar da peygamberlik edecekler.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
Yukarıda, gökyüzünde harikalar yaratacağım. Aşağıda, yeryüzünde belirtiler, Kan, ateş ve duman bulutları görülecek.
20 the sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the day of the Lord cometh, the great and notable day.
Rab'bin büyük ve görkemli günü gelmeden önce Güneş kararacak, Ay kan rengine dönecek.
21 And it shall be that every one that calleth on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
O zaman Rab'bi adıyla çağıran herkes kurtulacak.’
22 Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus the Nazarene, a man approved of God to you by miracles, and wonders, and signs, which God wrought by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves know, —
“Ey İsrailliler, şu sözleri dinleyin: Bildiğiniz gibi Nasıralı İsa, Tanrı'nın, kendisi aracılığıyla aranızda yaptığı mucizeler, harikalar ve belirtilerle kimliği kanıtlanmış bir kişidir.
23 this man, being delivered up by the settled purpose and foreknowledge of God, ye, by the hand of godless men, crucified and slew.
Tanrı'nın belirlenmiş amacı ve öngörüsü uyarınca elinize teslim edilen bu adamı, yasa tanımaz kişilerin eliyle çarmıha çivileyip öldürdünüz.
24 But God raised him up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
Tanrı ise, ölüm acılarına son vererek O'nu diriltti. Çünkü O'nun ölüme tutsak kalması olanaksızdı.
25 For David saith concerning him, “I saw the Lord always before me; because he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.
O'nunla ilgili olarak Davut şöyle der: ‘Rab'bi her zaman önümde gördüm, Sağımda durduğu için sarsılmam.
26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue exulted; moreover also, my flesh shall dwell in hope;
Bu nedenle yüreğim mutlu, dilim sevinçlidir. Dahası, bedenim de umut içinde yaşayacak.
27 because thou wilt not abandon my soul to the underworld, nor wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
Çünkü sen canımı ölüler diyarına terk etmeyeceksin, Kutsalının çürümesine izin vermeyeceksin. (Hadēs g86)
28 Thou didst make known to me the ways of life; thou wilt make me full of joy with thy countenance.”
Yaşam yollarını bana bildirdin; Varlığınla beni sevinçle dolduracaksın.’
29 Brethren, I may speak to you with freedom of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us to this day.
“Kardeşler, size açıkça söyleyebilirim ki, büyük atamız Davut öldü, gömüldü, mezarı da bugüne dek yanıbaşımızda duruyor.
30 Being then a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath that he would set one sprung from his loins upon his throne,
Davut bir peygamberdi ve soyundan birini tahtına oturtacağına dair Tanrı'nın kendisine ant içerek söz verdiğini biliyordu.
31 he foresaw and spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that neither was he abandoned to the underworld, nor did his flesh see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
Geleceği görerek Mesih'in ölümden dirilişine ilişkin şunları söyledi: ‘O, ölüler diyarına terk edilmedi, bedeni çürümedi.’ (Hadēs g86)
32 This Jesus God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Tanrı, İsa'yı ölümden diriltti ve biz hepimiz bunun tanıklarıyız.
33 Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye both see and hear.
O, Tanrı'nın sağına yüceltilmiş, vaat edilen Kutsal Ruh'u Baba'dan almış ve şimdi gördüğünüz ve işittiğiniz gibi, bu Ruh'u üzerimize dökmüştür.
34 For David did not ascend into the heavens; but he himself saith, The Lord said to my lord, “Sit thou on my right hand,
Davut, kendisi göklere çıkmadığı halde şöyle der: ‘Rab Rabbim'e dedi ki, Ben düşmanlarını Ayaklarının altına serinceye dek, Sağımda otur.’
35 until I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.
“Böylelikle bütün İsrail halkı şunu kesinlikle bilsin: Tanrı, sizin çarmıha gerdiğiniz İsa'yı hem Rab hem Mesih yapmıştır.”
37 And when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what must we do?
Bu sözleri duyanlar, yüreklerine hançer saplanmış gibi oldular. Petrus ve öbür elçilere, “Kardeşler, ne yapmalıyız?” diye sordular.
38 But Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized to the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins, and ye will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Petrus onlara şu karşılığı verdi: “Tövbe edin, her biriniz İsa Mesih'in adıyla vaftiz olsun. Böylece günahlarınız bağışlanacak ve Kutsal Ruh armağanını alacaksınız.
39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all that are afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Bu vaat sizler, çocuklarınız, uzaktakilerin hepsi için, Tanrımız Rab'bin çağıracağı herkes için geçerlidir.”
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this perverse generation.
Petrus daha birçok sözlerle onları uyardı. “Kendinizi bu sapık kuşaktan kurtarın!” diye yalvardı.
41 They therefore received his word, and were baptized; and there were added on that day about three thousand souls.
Onun sözünü benimseyenler vaftiz oldu. O gün yaklaşık üç bin kişi topluluğa katıldı.
42 And they were constantly attending on the teaching of the apostles, and the imparting [[of their substance]], the breaking of bread, and the prayers.
Bunlar kendilerini elçilerin öğretisine, paydaşlığa, ekmek bölmeye ve duaya adadılar.
43 And fear came upon every soul; and many wonders and signs were wrought through the apostles.
Herkesi bir korku sarmıştı. Elçilerin aracılığıyla birçok belirtiler ve harikalar yapılıyordu.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
İmanlıların tümü bir arada bulunuyor, her şeyi ortaklaşa kullanıyorlardı.
45 and they sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as any one had need.
Mallarını mülklerini satıyor ve bunun parasını herkese ihtiyacına göre dağıtıyorlardı.
46 And attending daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread in a private house, they partook of their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
Her gün tapınakta toplanmaya devam eden imanlılar, kendi evlerinde de ekmek bölüp içten bir sevinç ve sadelikle yemek yiyor ve Tanrı'yı övüyorlardı. Bütün halkın beğenisini kazanmışlardı. Rab de her gün yeni kurtulanları topluluğa katıyordu.
47 praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were in the way of salvation.
