Acts 2
1 And on the day of Pentecost they were all together in one place.
Cuando se cumplió el día de Pentecostés, estaban todos reunidos en un lugar.
2 And suddenly there came out of heaven a sound, as of a rushing mighty wind; and it filled the whole house where they were sitting;
De repente vino del cielo un estruendo, como una ráfaga de viento impetuoso que llenó toda la casa donde estaban sentados.
3 and there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributing themselves; and one sat upon each of them.
Se les distribuyeron lenguas como de fuego que posaron sobre cada uno de ellos.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, even as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Todos fueron llenos del Espíritu Santo, y comenzaron a hablar en diferentes lenguas, según el Espíritu les concedía hablar.
5 Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.
Había varones judíos piadosos que vivían en Jerusalén procedentes de toda nación bajo el cielo.
6 And when this sound took place, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because every one heard them speaking in his own language.
Después de este estruendo, la multitud concurrió. Se confundió, porque oían que cada uno les hablaba en su propia lengua.
7 And they were amazed, and marveled, saying, Behold, are not all these who speak Galilaeans?
Se maravillaban. Se asombraban y decían: Observen, ¿no son galileos todos estos que hablan?
8 and how is it that we every one hear them in our own language, wherein we were born?
¿Cómo, pues, los oímos, cada uno de nosotros, en nuestra propia lengua con la cual nacimos:
9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and those who inhabit Mesopotamia, Judaea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
partos, medos, elamitas y los que habitamos Mesopotamia, Judea y también Capadocia, Ponto y Asia,
10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and Romans who sojourn here, both Jews and Proselytes,
Frigia, Panfilia, Egipto y las regiones de Libia frente a Cirene, y los forasteros romanos,
11 Cretans and Arabians—how is it that we hear them speaking in our tongues the wonderful works of God?
tanto judíos como prosélitos, cretenses y árabes, los oímos que hablan en nuestras lenguas las maravillosas obras de Dios?
12 And they were all amazed and were in doubt, saying one to another, What can this mean?
Estaban todos asombrados y perplejos. Se preguntaban unos a otros: ¿Qué significa esto?
13 Others making sport of it, said, They are full of new wine.
Otros, en son de burla, decían: ¡Están embriagados!
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them, Men of Judea, and all that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known to you, and hearken to my words.
Entonces Pedro, se puso en pie con los 11, alzó su voz y les declaró: Varones judíos y todos los que viven en Jerusalén: ¡Sepan esto y escuchen mis palabras!
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose; for it is the third hour of the day;
Porque éstos no están ebrios como ustedes piensan, pues son las nueve de la mañana.
16 but this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel,
Pero esto es lo dicho por medio del profeta Joel:
17 “It shall be in the last days, saith God, that I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams;
Acontecerá en los últimos días, dice Dios, que derramaré de mi Espíritu sobre toda persona. Sus hijos y sus hijas profetizarán, sus jóvenes tendrán visiones, sus ancianos tendrán sueños.
18 and even on my servants, and on my handmaids, I will pour out of my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
Ciertamente sobre mis esclavos y sobre mis esclavas derramaré de mi Espíritu en aquellos días y profetizarán.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
Haré prodigios arriba en el cielo, y señales milagrosas abajo en la tierra, sangre, fuego y vapor de humo.
20 the sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the day of the Lord cometh, the great and notable day.
El sol se convertirá en oscuridad, y la luna en sangre antes que venga [el] día grande y glorioso del Señor.
21 And it shall be that every one that calleth on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Sucederá que todo aquel que invoque el Nombre del Señor será salvo.
22 Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus the Nazarene, a man approved of God to you by miracles, and wonders, and signs, which God wrought by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves know, —
Varones israelitas, escuchen estas palabras: A Jesús nazareno, hombre recomendado por Dios entre ustedes con milagros, prodigios y señales milagrosas, que Dios hizo por medio de Él entre ustedes, como ustedes saben,
23 this man, being delivered up by the settled purpose and foreknowledge of God, ye, by the hand of godless men, crucified and slew.
a Éste, Quien fue entregado por el designio determinado y [el] conocimiento anticipado de Dios, lo clavaron, lo mataron por medio de manos inicuas,
24 But God raised him up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
a Quien Dios resucitó y desató de las garras de la muerte, porque era imposible que Él fuera retenido bajo su dominio.
25 For David saith concerning him, “I saw the Lord always before me; because he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.
Porque David dice con respecto a Él: Veía al Señor continuamente delante de Mí, Pues está a mi mano derecha para que no sea conmovido.
26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue exulted; moreover also, my flesh shall dwell in hope;
Por esto, mi corazón se alegró y mi lengua se regocijó, Y aun mi cuerpo también descansará con esperanza,
27 because thou wilt not abandon my soul to the underworld, nor wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
Pues no abandonará mi alma en el sepulcro, Ni permitirá que su Santo pase a corrupción. (Hadēs g86)
28 Thou didst make known to me the ways of life; thou wilt make me full of joy with thy countenance.”
Me dio a conocer [el] camino de vida, Me llenará de gozo con su presencia.
29 Brethren, I may speak to you with freedom of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us to this day.
Varones hermanos, les puedo decir con confianza en cuanto al patriarca David, que no solo murió, sino también fue sepultado, y su sepulcro está con nosotros hasta hoy.
30 Being then a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath that he would set one sprung from his loins upon his throne,
Pero, como era profeta, sabía que Dios le juró sentar en su trono a uno de sus descendientes.
31 he foresaw and spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that neither was he abandoned to the underworld, nor did his flesh see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
Después de preverlo, habló sobre la resurrección de Cristo, que no fue dejado en [el] sepulcro, ni su cuerpo pasó a corrupción. (Hadēs g86)
32 This Jesus God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Dios resucitó a este Jesús. De esto todos nosotros somos testigos.
33 Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye both see and hear.
Así que, exaltado a la mano derecha de Dios, y después de recibir del Padre la promesa del Espíritu Santo, derramó esto que ustedes ven y oyen.
34 For David did not ascend into the heavens; but he himself saith, The Lord said to my lord, “Sit thou on my right hand,
Porque David no subió a los cielos. Pero él mismo declaró: Dijo [el] Señor a mi Señor: Siéntate a mi mano derecha,
35 until I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
Hasta que ponga a tus enemigos como estrado de tus pies.
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.
Casa de Israel, sepa sin duda que a este Jesús, a Quien ustedes crucificaron, Dios lo constituyó Señor y Cristo.
37 And when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what must we do?
Al oír esto, les remordió el corazón y dijeron a Pedro y a los otros apóstoles: Varones hermanos, ¿qué haremos?
38 But Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized to the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins, and ye will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Y Pedro les [respondió]: ¡Cambien de mente y bautícese cada uno de ustedes en el Nombre de Jesucristo para perdón de sus pecados, y recibirán el Don del Santo Espíritu!
39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all that are afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Porque para ustedes es la promesa, para sus hijos, para todos los que están lejos y para cuantos llame el Señor nuestro Dios.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this perverse generation.
Con muchas otras palabras testificaba solemnemente y exhortaba: ¡Sálvense de esta perversa generación!
41 They therefore received his word, and were baptized; and there were added on that day about three thousand souls.
Así que, los que recibieron su palabra fueron bautizados, y en aquel día se añadieron como 3.000 personas.
42 And they were constantly attending on the teaching of the apostles, and the imparting [[of their substance]], the breaking of bread, and the prayers.
Perseveraban en la enseñanza de los apóstoles, la comunión, el partimiento del pan y las conversaciones con Dios.
43 And fear came upon every soul; and many wonders and signs were wrought through the apostles.
Vino temor a toda persona. Los apóstoles hacían muchos prodigios y señales milagrosas.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Todos los que creían estaban juntos y tenían todas las cosas en común.
45 and they sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as any one had need.
Vendían las propiedades y posesiones, y las distribuían según la necesidad de cada uno.
46 And attending daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread in a private house, they partook of their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
Perseveraban unánimes cada día en el Templo. Partían [el] pan de casa en casa y compartían alimento con alegría y sencillez de corazón.
47 praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were in the way of salvation.
Alababan a Dios y tenían gracia con todo el pueblo. El Señor les añadía cada día los que eran salvos.
