Acts 2
1 And on the day of Pentecost they were all together in one place.
Amikor a pünkösd napja eljött, mindnyájan egy akarattal együtt voltak.
2 And suddenly there came out of heaven a sound, as of a rushing mighty wind; and it filled the whole house where they were sitting;
És nagy hirtelenséggel az égből mintegy sebesen zúgó szélnek zendülése keletkezett, és eltöltötte az egész házat, ahol ültek.
3 and there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributing themselves; and one sat upon each of them.
Kettős tüzes nyelvek jelentek meg előttük, és mindegyikükre ráereszkedtek.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, even as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Megteltek mindnyájan Szentlélekkel, és kezdtek más nyelveken szólni, amint a Lélek adta nékik, hogy szóljanak.
5 Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.
Ekkor Jeruzsálemben laktak zsidók, istenfélő férfiak, minden nép közül valók, melyek az ég alatt vannak.
6 And when this sound took place, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because every one heard them speaking in his own language.
Miután pedig ez a zúgás keletkezett, egybegyűlt a sokaság, és megzavarodott, mivelhogy mindegyik a maga nyelvén hallotta őket szólni.
7 And they were amazed, and marveled, saying, Behold, are not all these who speak Galilaeans?
Mindnyájan elálmélkodtak, és csodálkozva mondták egymásnak: „Nem Galileából valók-e ezek mindnyájan, akik beszélnek?
8 and how is it that we every one hear them in our own language, wherein we were born?
Hogyan halljuk hát őket, ki-ki közülünk a saját nyelvén, amelyben születtünk?
9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and those who inhabit Mesopotamia, Judaea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
Pártusok, médek és elámiták, és akik Mezopotámiában, Júdeában és Kappadóciában, Pontuszban és Ázsiában,
10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and Romans who sojourn here, both Jews and Proselytes,
Frígiában és Pamfíliában, Egyiptomban és Líbiának tartományaiban lakunk, mely Ciréné mellett van, és a Rómából jöttek, akár zsidók, akár prozeliták,
11 Cretans and Arabians—how is it that we hear them speaking in our tongues the wonderful works of God?
krétaiak és arabok, halljuk, amint a mi nyelvünkön hirdetik az Istennek felséges dolgait.“
12 And they were all amazed and were in doubt, saying one to another, What can this mean?
Elálmélkodtak mindnyájan, és zavarban voltak, és egymásnak ezt mondták: „Vajon mi akar ez lenni?“
13 Others making sport of it, said, They are full of new wine.
Mások pedig csúfolódva ezt mondták: „Édes bortól részegedtek meg.“
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them, Men of Judea, and all that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known to you, and hearken to my words.
Péter azonban előállt a tizeneggyel, felemelte hangját, és így szólt hozzájuk: „Zsidó férfiak, és mindnyájan, akik Jeruzsálemben laktok, vegyétek tudomásul, és hallgassátok meg beszédemet!
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose; for it is the third hour of the day;
Mert nem részegek ezek, amint ti állítjátok, hiszen a napnak harmadik órája van,
16 but this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel,
hanem ez az, amit megmondott Jóel próféta:
17 “It shall be in the last days, saith God, that I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams;
»És az utolsó napokban, – ezt mondja az Isten –, kitöltöm az én Lelkemet minden testre: és fiaitok és leányaitok prófétálnak, ifjaitok látomásokat látnak, és a vének álmokat álmodnak.
18 and even on my servants, and on my handmaids, I will pour out of my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
Az én szolgáimra és szolgálóleányaimra is kitöltöm Lelkemet azokban a napokban, és prófétálni fognak.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
És csodákat teszek az égben odafenn, jeleket a földön idelenn: vért, tüzet és füstnek gőzölgését.
20 the sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the day of the Lord cometh, the great and notable day.
A nap sötétséggé változik, a hold vérré, mielőtt eljön az Úrnak nagy és fényes napja.
21 And it shall be that every one that calleth on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
És mindenki, aki az Úrnak nevét segítségül hívja, megtartatik.«
22 Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus the Nazarene, a man approved of God to you by miracles, and wonders, and signs, which God wrought by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves know, —
Izraelita férfiak, halljátok meg ezeket a beszédeket: A Názáreti Jézust, azt a férfiút, aki Istentől bizonyságot nyert előttetek erők, csodatételek és jelek által, melyeket általa cselekedett Isten közöttetek, amint magatok is tudjátok,
23 this man, being delivered up by the settled purpose and foreknowledge of God, ye, by the hand of godless men, crucified and slew.
azt, aki Istennek elhatározásából és rendeléséből adatott halálra, megragadva, gonosz kezeitekkel keresztfára feszítve megöltétek.
24 But God raised him up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
De az Isten feltámasztotta, a halál fájdalmait megoldva, mert lehetetlen volt, hogy az őt fogva tartsa.
25 For David saith concerning him, “I saw the Lord always before me; because he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.
Mert Dávid ezt mondja róla: »Magam előtt láttam az Urat mindenkor, mert ő nékem jobb kezem felől van, hogy meg ne tántorodjam.
26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue exulted; moreover also, my flesh shall dwell in hope;
Ezért örvendezett a szívem, és vígadott a nyelvem; sőt még az én testem is reménységben nyugszik.
27 because thou wilt not abandon my soul to the underworld, nor wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
Mert nem hagyod a lelkemet a sírban, és nem engeded, hogy szented rothadást lásson. (Hadēs g86)
28 Thou didst make known to me the ways of life; thou wilt make me full of joy with thy countenance.”
Megjelentetted nékem az életnek útjait; betöltesz engem örömmel a te orcád előtt.«
29 Brethren, I may speak to you with freedom of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us to this day.
Atyámfiai férfiak! Szabad nyíltan szólnom előttetek Dávid pátriárkáról, hogy ő meghalt és eltemették, és az ő sírja mind a mai napig nálunk van.
30 Being then a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath that he would set one sprung from his loins upon his throne,
Mivel próféta volt, és tudta, hogy az Isten neki esküvéssel megesküdött, hogy majd az ő magvának gyümölcséből támasztja a Krisztust test szerint, hogy helyezze az ő királyi székibe,
31 he foresaw and spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that neither was he abandoned to the underworld, nor did his flesh see corruption. (Hadēs g86)

32 This Jesus God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Ezt a Jézust feltámasztotta az Isten, aminek mi mindnyájan tanúi vagyunk.
33 Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye both see and hear.
Ezért az Istennek jobbja által felmagasztaltatva, és a megígért Szentlelket megnyerve az Atyától, kitöltötte ezt, amit ti most láttok és hallotok.
34 For David did not ascend into the heavens; but he himself saith, The Lord said to my lord, “Sit thou on my right hand,
Mert nem Dávid ment fel a mennyországba, hiszen ő maga mondja: »Mondta az Úr az én Uramnak: Ülj az én jobb kezem felől,
35 until I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
míg a te ellenségeidet lábaid alá zsámolyul vetem.«
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.
Bizony tudja meg azért Izraelnek egész háza, hogy Úrrá és Krisztussá tette őt az Isten, azt a Jézust, akit ti megfeszítettetek.“
37 And when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what must we do?
Amikor pedig ezeket hallották, szívükben megkeseredtek, és ezt mondták Péternek és a többi apostoloknak: „Mit cselekedjünk, atyámfiai, férfiak?“
38 But Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized to the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins, and ye will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Péter pedig ezt mondta nekik: „Térjetek meg, és keresztelkedjetek meg mindnyájan a Jézus Krisztusnak nevében, a bűnöknek bocsánatára, és megkapjátok a Szentlélek ajándékát.
39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all that are afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Mert nektek szól az ígéret, és a gyermekeiteknek és mindazoknak, akik messze vannak, akiket csak elhív magának az Úr, a mi Istenünk.“
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this perverse generation.
Sok egyéb beszéddel is buzgón kérte, és intette őket: „Szakítsátok el magatokat ettől a gonosz nemzetségtől!“
41 They therefore received his word, and were baptized; and there were added on that day about three thousand souls.
Akik pedig örömmel vették az ő beszédét, megkeresztelkedtek, és hozzájuk csatlakozott azon a napon mintegy háromezer lélek.
42 And they were constantly attending on the teaching of the apostles, and the imparting [[of their substance]], the breaking of bread, and the prayers.
És foglalatoskodtak az apostolok tudományában és a közösségben, a kenyérnek megtörésében és az imádságban.
43 And fear came upon every soul; and many wonders and signs were wrought through the apostles.
Minden lélekben pedig félelem támadt, és az apostolok sok csodát és jelt tettek.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Mindnyájan pedig, akik hittek, együtt voltak, és mindenük közös volt.
45 and they sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as any one had need.
Jószágukat és marháikat eladogatták, és szétosztogatták azokat mindenkinek, kinek-kinek amint szüksége volt rá.
46 And attending daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread in a private house, they partook of their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
És minden nap egy akarattal kitartva a templomban, és megtörve házanként a kenyeret, részesedtek az eledelben örömmel és tiszta szívvel.
47 praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were in the way of salvation.
Dicsérték az Istent, és az egész nép kedvelte őket. Az Úr pedig minden napon gyarapította a gyülekezetet az üdvözülőkkel.
