Acts 1
1 The former narrative I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus both did and taught from the beginning
Lieber Theophilus! In meiner ersten Schrift habe ich von allem erzählt, was Jesus tat und lehrte
2 until the day in which, after he had through the Holy Spirit given commandments to the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up;
bis zu jenem Tage, da er in den Himmel aufgenommen ward, nachdem er den Aposteln, die er sich durch den Heiligen Geist auserwählt hatte, seinen Willen kundgetan.
3 to whom also he showed himself living, after he had suffered, by many sure proofs, appearing to them during forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.
Diesen hatte er sich auch nach seinem Leiden als lebendig dargestellt durch vielerlei Beweise: Vierzig Tage hindurch erschien er ihnen, wobei er ihnen über alles Aufschluß gab, was das Reich Gottes betrifft.
4 And while in assembly with them, he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for what had been promised by the Father, which [[said he]] ye heard from me;
Als er mit ihnen noch zusammen war, befahl er ihnen, von Jerusalem nicht wegzugehen, sondern abzuwarten, was der Vater verheißen hat: "Was ihr von mir gehört habt so sprach er:
5 for John indeed baptized with water, but ye will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days hence.
"Johannes hat zwar mit Wasser getauft, ihr aber sollt in eben diesen Tagen mit dem Heiligen Geiste getauft werden."
6 They therefore, having come together, asked him, saying, Lord, art thou at this time about to restore the kingdom to Israel?
Die zusammengekommen waren, fragten ihn: "Herr, wirst du in dieser Zeit die Königsherrschaft in Israel wiederherstellen?"
7 But he said to them, It belongeth not to you to know times or seasons, which the Father appointed by his own authority.
Doch er sprach zu ihnen: "Nicht eure Sache ist es, Zeit und Stunde zu erfahren die der Vater in seiner Machtvollkommenheit festgesetzt hat.
8 But ye will receive power when the Holy Spirit hath come upon you; and ye will be my witnesses, both in Jerusalem and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Ihr werdet jedoch Kraft empfangen, wenn der Heilige Geist über euch herabkommt, und ihr werdet für mich zu Zeugen werden in Jerusalem, in ganz Judäa und in Samaria, ja, bis an die Grenzen der Erde."
9 And having thus spoken, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Nach diesen Worten ward er vor ihren Augen emporgehoben, und eine Wolke entrückte ihn ihren Blicken.
10 And while they were looking earnestly into heaven as he went up, lo! two men stood by them in white apparel,
Unverwandten Auges schauten sie gen Himmel, während er emporfuhr. Doch siehe, da standen zwei Männer in weißen Gewändern bei ihnen.
11 who said, Men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This Jesus, who hath been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same manner in which ye beheld him going into heaven.
Sie sprachen: "Ihr Galiläer! Was steht ihr da und schaut zum Himmel hinauf? Dieser Jesus, der aus eurer Mitte in den Himmel aufgenommen ward, wird in derselben Weise wiederkommen, wie ihr ihn in den Himmel habt auffahren sehen."
12 Then they returned to Jerusalem, from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, within a sabbath-day's journey.
Darauf kehrten sie von dem Berge, der Ölberg heißt und nahe bei Jerusalem liegt, einen Sabbatweg entfernt, nach Jerusalem zurück.
13 And when they had come in, they went up into the upper room where they were making their abode, namely, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the zealot, and Judas the brother of James.
Dort angekommen, begaben sie sich in das Obergemach, wo sie blieben: nämlich Petrus und Johannes, Jakobus und Andreas, Philippus und Thomas, Bartholomäus und Matthäus, Jakobus, der Sohn des Alphäus, und Simon, der Eiferer, und Judas, der Bruder des Jakobus.
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer, with women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.
Sie alle verharrten einmütig im Gebet mit den Frauen, mit Maria, der Mutter Jesu, und mit seinen Brüdern.
15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the brethren, and said, (the number of the names together was about one hundred and twenty, )
In jenen Tagen erhob sich Petrus inmitten der Brüder - es war eine Menge von ungefähr einhundertzwanzig Personen beisammen - und sprach:
16 Brethren, it was necessary that this scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit through the mouth of David spoke before concerning Judas, who became guide to those who took Jesus.
"Liebe Brüder! Das Schriftwort mußte in Erfüllung gehen, das der Heilige Geist durch den Mund Davids über Judas vorhergesagt, der den Häschern Jesu den Weg gezeigt hatte.
17 For he was numbered among us, and obtained the allotment of this ministry.
Er gehörte einst zu uns und hatte teil an diesem Amt erhalten.
18 Now this man purchased a field with the wages of the iniquity; and falling headlong he burst asunder in the middle, and all his bowels gushed out.
Um seinen Sündenlohn erwarb er sich einen Acker, fiel dann kopfüber ab und barst entzwei, und alle seine Eingeweide quollen hervor.
19 And it became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that that field is called in their own tongue, Aceldamach, that is, Field of Blood.
Und dies erfuhren alle Einwohner Jerusalems; darum nannten sie in ihrer Sprache jenen Acker: Hakeldama, d. h. Blutacker.
20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, “Let his habitation be made desolate, and let no one dwell therein;” and, “Let another take his office.”
Heißt es doch im Buch der Psalmen: 'Seine Wohnstatt werde öde, und niemand sei, der darin wohne!' Und dann: 'Sein Amt soll ein anderer erhalten!'
21 Of these men, therefore, who accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
So muß denn einer von den Männern, die bei uns waren in der ganzen Zeit, da der Herr Jesus bei uns ein- und ausging,
22 from the baptism of John until the day when he was taken up from us, must one be made a witness with us of his resurrection.
angefangen von der Taufe des Johannes bis zu dem Tage, da er von uns hinweg aufgenommen ward, es muß von diesen einer mit uns Zeuge seiner Auferstehung werden."
23 And they proposed two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
Sie stellten zwei vor: Joseph, genannt Barsabas, mit dem Beinamen Justus, und Matthias.
24 And they prayed saying, Thou, Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, show which of these two thou hast chosen
Und sie beteten: "O Herr, Du kennst die Herzen aller, zeige an, wen von diesen beiden Du erwählt hast,
25 to take the part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell away, that he might go to his own place.
die Stelle dieses Dienstes und Apostelamtes zu erhalten, von dem Judas abgefallen war, um an seinen Ort zu gehen."
26 And they cast lots for them; and the lot fell upon Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
Dann warfen sie das Los für sie, und das Los fiel auf Matthias. Er wurde den elf Aposteln beigezählt.
