Acts 1
1 The former narrative I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus both did and taught from the beginning
Ang nahauna kong sinulat nga basahon, O Teofilos, nagsugilon sa tanan nga gisugdan ni Jesus sa pagbuhat ug pagpanudlo,
2 until the day in which, after he had through the Holy Spirit given commandments to the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up;
hangtod sa adlaw nga gidawat siya sa kahitas-an. Human niya sa paghatag ug sugo pinaagi sa Balaang Espiritu sa iyang pinili nga mga apostoles,
3 to whom also he showed himself living, after he had suffered, by many sure proofs, appearing to them during forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.
nga human sa iyang pag-antos mipakita siya kanila. Kay sulod sa 40 ka-adlaw kanunay siyang nagpakita kanila, nga nagsulti sa mga butang mahitungod sa gingharian sa Dios.
4 And while in assembly with them, he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for what had been promised by the Father, which [[said he]] ye heard from me;
Sa dihang nakigtigom siya uban kanila gisugo niya sila nga dili mobiya sa Jerusalem kondili hulaton ang saad sa Amahan, nga mahitungod niini, miingon siya, “Nadungog ninyo gikan kanako
5 for John indeed baptized with water, but ye will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days hence.
nga si Juan sa pagkatinuod nagbawtismo sa tubig apan kamo pagabawtismohan diha sa Balaang Espiritu sa pipila ka mga adlaw.”
6 They therefore, having come together, asked him, saying, Lord, art thou at this time about to restore the kingdom to Israel?
Sa nagkatigom na sila gipangutana nila siya, “Ginoo, mao na ba kini ang panahon nga ipasig-uli mo na ang gingharian ngadto sa Israel?”
7 But he said to them, It belongeth not to you to know times or seasons, which the Father appointed by his own authority.
Miingon siya kanila, “Gidili kaninyo ang pagkasayod sa takna o sa mga panahon nga gitagal sa Amahan pinaagi sa iyang kaugalingong pagbulot-an.
8 But ye will receive power when the Holy Spirit hath come upon you; and ye will be my witnesses, both in Jerusalem and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Apan magadawat kamo sa gahom, sa dihang ang Balaang Espiritu mokunsad kaninyo, ug kamo magasaksi kanako sa Jerusalem ug sa tibuok Judea ug Samaria, ug sa kinatumyan sa yuta.”
9 And having thus spoken, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Sa pagsulti ni Ginoong Jesus niining mga butanga, samtang sila nagtan-aw, siya gibayaw paitaas, ug gisalipdan siya sa panganod gikan sa ilang mga mata.
10 And while they were looking earnestly into heaven as he went up, lo! two men stood by them in white apparel,
Samtang nagtutok sila pag-ayo sa langit sa iyang pagkayab, sa kalit lang, adunay duha ka tawo nga nagbisti ug puti nga nagtindog uban kanila.
11 who said, Men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This Jesus, who hath been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same manner in which ye beheld him going into heaven.
Miingon sila, “Kamong mga tawo sa Galilea, nganong nagtindog kamo dinhi nga naghangad sa langit? Kining Jesus nga gibayaw sa langit mobalik sa samang paagi sa pagkakita ninyo kaniya padulong sa langit.”
12 Then they returned to Jerusalem, from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, within a sabbath-day's journey.
Unya namauli sila sa Jerusalem gikan sa Bukid sa Olibo, nga duol sa Jerusalem, nga may laktonon nga usa ka Adlaw'ng Igpapahulay.
13 And when they had come in, they went up into the upper room where they were making their abode, namely, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the zealot, and Judas the brother of James.
Sa pag-abot nila, misaka sila sa taas nga lawak, diin sila mag-abotan. Sila mao si Pedro, Juan, Santiago, Andres, Filipe, Tomas, Bartolomeo, Mateo, Santiago nga anak ni Alphaeus, Simon nga Zealot, ug si Judas nga anak ni Santiago.
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer, with women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.
Nagkahiusa silang tanan samtang sila makugihon nga nagpadayon diha sa mga pag-ampo. Lakip ang mga babaye nga, si Maria nga inahan ni Jesus, ug ang iyang igsoon nga mga lalaki.
15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the brethren, and said, (the number of the names together was about one hundred and twenty, )
Niadtong mga adlawa mitindog si Pedro taliwala sa mga kaigsoonan, nga adunay 120 ka-tawo, ug miingon,
16 Brethren, it was necessary that this scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit through the mouth of David spoke before concerning Judas, who became guide to those who took Jesus.
“Mga kaigsoonan, kinahanglan nga matuman gayod ang kasulatan, nga gisulti sa Balaang Espiritu kaniadto pinaagi sa baba ni David mahitungod kang Judas, nga migiya sa mga nagdakop kang Jesus.
17 For he was numbered among us, and obtained the allotment of this ministry.
Kay siya kauban man namo ug nagdawat usab sa iyang bahin sa mga kaayohan niining pagpangalagad.”
18 Now this man purchased a field with the wages of the iniquity; and falling headlong he burst asunder in the middle, and all his bowels gushed out.
(Karon kining tawhana nagpalit ug uma gikan sa kinitaan sa iyang daotang binuhatan. Unya siya nahulog nga nag-una ang ulo, ug ang lawas niya mibuto, ug ang tanang sulod sa iyang ginhawaan nakay-ag.
19 And it became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that that field is called in their own tongue, Aceldamach, that is, Field of Blood.
Ug kini nahibaloan sa tanan nga nagpuyo sa Jerusalem nga kadtong yutaa gitawag sa kaugalingon nilang pinulongan nga Akeldama, nga mao, Ang yuta sa dugo.)
20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, “Let his habitation be made desolate, and let no one dwell therein;” and, “Let another take his office.”
Kay nahisulat kini sa basahon sa mga Salmo, “Tugoti ang iyang yuta nga mahimong biniyaan, ug ayaw tugoti nga adunay bisan kinsang tawo nga mopuyo didto. Ug tugoti ang laing tawo nga magkuha sa iyang katungdanan sa pagkapangulo.
21 Of these men, therefore, who accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
Busa kini kinahanglan nga ang mga tawong gikauban nato sa tanang higayon sa pagsulod ug paggula sa Ginoong Jesus taliwala kanato,
22 from the baptism of John until the day when he was taken up from us, must one be made a witness with us of his resurrection.
gikan pa sa pagbawtismo ni Juan hangtod sa adlaw nga siya gibayaw gikan kanato, usa niini gikinahanglan nga nakasaksi uban kanato sa iyang pagkabanhaw.”
23 And they proposed two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
Gipaatubang nila sa unahan ang duha ka tawo, si Jose nga gitawag ug Barsabas kinsa ginganlan usab ug Justo, ug si Matias.
24 And they prayed saying, Thou, Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, show which of these two thou hast chosen
Nag-ampo sila ug miingon, “Ikaw, Ginoo, nakaila sa mga kasingkasing sa tanang tawo, busa ipadayag kung kinsa niining duha ang imong gipili
25 to take the part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell away, that he might go to his own place.
aron sa pagpuli sa dapit niining pagpangalagad ug pagkaapostol sukad sa paglapas ni Judas aron sa pag-adto sa iyang kaugalingong dapit.”
26 And they cast lots for them; and the lot fell upon Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
Ug nagripa sila kanila; ug ang ripa natunong kang Matias ug giisip siya nga kauban na sa napulo ug usa nga mga apostoles.
