2 Corinthians 9

1 For concerning the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you.

Nebo o pomoci, kteráž se děje svatým, jest zbytečné psáti vám.

2 For I know your readiness of mind, of which I boast in behalf of you to the Macedonians, that Achaia was prepared a year ago; and your zeal stirred up the greater part of them.

Vím zajisté o vaší hotovosti, pro kterouž chlubím se vámi Macedonským, že Achaia hotova jest od předešlého léta. A ta vaše horlivost mnohými pohnula.

3 But I sent the brethren, that our boasting of you should not prove unfounded in this respect; that, as I said, ye may be prepared;

I poslal jsem tyto bratří, aby chlouba naše vámi nebyla marná v té stránce, ale abyste, (jakž jsem řekl, ) byli hotovi,

4 lest, should the Macedonians come with me, and find you unprepared, we (not to say ye) should be put to shame in respect to this confidence.

Abychom snad, přišli-li by se mnou Macedonští, a nalezli vás nehotové, nemusili se styděti, (ať nedím vy, ) za tak podstatnou chloubu.

5 I thought it necessary therefore to exhort the brethren to go before to you, and make up beforehand your bounty, which was already announced, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not of covetousness.

Protož vidělo se mi za potřebné těchto bratří napomenouti, aby napřed šli k vám, a připravili prvé opověděnou zbírku vaši, aby byla hotová jako dobrovolná zbírka, a ne jako bezděčná.

6 But this there is to say: He that soweth sparingly, shall reap also sparingly; and he that soweth bountifully, shall reap also bountifully.

Ale totoť pravím: Kdo skoupě rozsívá, skoupě i žíti bude; a kdož rozsívá ochotně, ochotně i žíti bude.

7 Each one, as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity; for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Jeden každý jakž uložil v srdci, ne s neochotnou myslí aneb z mušení. Neboť ochotného dárce miluje Bůh.

8 And God is able to make every blessing abound toward you, that ye, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work;

Mocenť jest pak Bůh všelikou milost rozhojniti v vás, abyste ve všem všudy všeliký dostatek majíce, hojní byli ke všelikému skutku dobrému,

9 as it is written: “He dispersed abroad, he gave to the poor; his righteousness remaineth for ever.” (aiōn g165)

Jakož psáno jest: Rozsypal a dal chudým, spravedlnost jeho zůstává na věky. (aiōn g165)

10 Now, he that ministereth seed to the sower, and bread for food, will supply and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;

Ten pak, kterýž dává símě rozsívajícímu, dejž i vám chléb k jedení, a rozmnožiž símě vaše, a přispořiž úrody spravedlnosti vaší,

11 while ye are enriched in everything to all liberality, which worketh out through us thanksgiving to God;

Abyste všelijak zbohaceni byli ke všeliké sprostnosti, kteráž působí skrze nás, aby díky činěny byly Bohu.

12 for the ministration of this service not only supplieth the wants of the saints, but also overfloweth through many thanksgivings to God;

Nebo služba oběti této netoliko doplňuje nedostatky svatých, ale také rozhojňuje se v mnohé díků činění Bohu, příčinou schválení služby této,

13 while by the proof afforded by this ministration they glorify God for your obedience to your profession in regard to the gospel of Christ, and for the liberality of your contribution in regard to them and in regard to all;

Když chválí Boha z jednomyslné poddanosti vaší k evangelium Kristovu, a z upřímé té zdílnosti k sobě i ke všechněm,

14 while with supplication for you they long after you on account of the exceeding grace of God to you.

A modlí se za vás ti, kteříž vás převelice milují pro vyvýšenou milost Boží v vás.

15 Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift.

Díka pak Bohu z nevymluvného daru jeho.
