2 Corinthians 5
1 For we know that, if our earthly tent-habitation be destroyed, we have a building provided by God, a house not made with hands, everlasting, in the heavens. (aiōnios g166)
Wiemy przecież, że gdy runie doczesny dom, którym jest nasze ciało, otrzymamy od Boga nowe mieszkanie w niebie, które nie będzie zbudowane przez ludzi. (aiōnios g166)
2 For while in this we groan, longing to be clothed upon with our habitation which is from heaven;
Obecne ciało sprawia nam wiele trudności, dlatego tęsknimy za tym nowym ciałem w niebie.
3 since, indeed, when we have put off our present garment, we shall not be found naked.
Nie będziemy bowiem bezcielesnymi duchami, ale otrzymamy nowe ciała.
4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened; inasmuch as we do not desire to be unclothed, but to be clothed upon, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.
Chociaż trudno nam żyć w naszych obecnych ciałach, to nie chcielibyśmy umrzeć i rozstać się z nimi. Wolelibyśmy, aby zostały one od razu zastąpione przez te nowe ciała niebiańskie.
5 Now he that hath prepared us for this very thing is God; who also gave to us the Spirit as the pledge.
Pamiętajcie, że to Bóg jest Tym, który to wszystko dla nas przygotował, a jako gwarancję już teraz dał nam Ducha Świętego.
6 We have courage, therefore, always, and know that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord;
Dlatego możemy być pewni, że da nam to, co przygotował. Teraz bowiem, żyjąc w naszych śmiertelnych ciałach, nie jesteśmy jeszcze w naszym prawdziwym domu—u Pana.
7 for we walk by faith, not by sight; but we have courage,
Idziemy więc przez życie kierując się wiarą, a nie tym, co widzimy.
8 and are well pleased rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.
Wiedząc o tym wszystkim, nie boimy się śmierci i wolelibyśmy już pożegnać nasze ciała i odejść do Pana.
9 Wherefore we also strive that, whether at home or absent, we may be approved by him.
Zawsze pragniemy też czynić to, co Mu się podoba—niezależnie od tego, czy jeszcze żyjemy w tych ciałach, czy nie.
10 For we must all be made manifest before the judgment-seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in his body, according to what he did, whether good or bad.
Wszyscy bowiem staniemy przed sądem Chrystusa. I każdy otrzyma wtedy to, na co zasłużył dobrymi lub złymi czynami, dokonanymi w ziemskim ciele.
11 Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men; but to God we have been made manifest, and I hope have been made manifest in your consciences also.
Wiemy, że Bóg oczekuje respektu, dlatego zachęcamy ludzi do przyjęcia dobrej nowiny. Bóg wie, dlaczego to czynimy, a mamy nadzieję, że nasze intencje są jasne także dla was i że nie budzą waszych zastrzeżeń.
12 For we are not again commending ourselves to you, but giving you occasion to glory on our behalf; that ye may have somewhat to answer those who glory in outward appearance, and not in heart.
Nie chcemy zabiegać o waszą przychylność. Pragniemy jedynie, abyście mogli być z nas dumni i byście mieli argument przeciwko tym, którzy szczycą się sprawami powierzchownymi, a nie zwracają uwagi na stan swojego serca.
13 For whether we were beside ourselves, it was for God; or whether we are in our sound mind, it is for you.
Jeśli postępujemy jak szaleńcy, robimy to dla Boga. A jeśli zachowujemy rozsądek, czynimy to ze względu na was.
14 For the love of Christ constraineth us, because we thus judged, that if one died for all, then all died;
Jesteśmy bowiem owładnięci miłością Chrystusa i twierdzimy, że skoro On jeden umarł za wszystkich, to znaczy, że wszyscy poumierali.
15 and he died for all, that they who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who died for their sakes, and rose again.
Taka bowiem jest prawda: Jezus umarł za wszystkich, aby ci, którzy dzięki Niemu żyją, odtąd żyli już nie dla siebie, ale dla Tego, który za nich umarł i zmartwychwstał.
16 So that we henceforth know no one according to the flesh; and if we have even known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we no longer know him.
Dlatego my nie patrzymy już na nikogo z ludzkiego punktu widzenia. A nawet jeśli poznaliśmy Chrystusa jako człowieka, to już w ten sposób na Niego nie patrzymy.
17 Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Jeśli ktoś bowiem uwierzył Chrystusowi, jest zupełnie nową istotą. To, co było kiedyś, minęło. Teraz zaczęło się coś zupełnie nowego.
18 And all things are from God, who reconciled us to himself by Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation;
A wszystko to pochodzi od Boga, który dzięki Chrystusowi pojednał nas ze sobą i—co więcej—powierzył nam misję jednania z Nim innych ludzi.
19 seeing that in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation.
Bóg przez Chrystusa pojednał bowiem ze sobą świat, nie wypominając ludziom ich grzechów, nam zaś polecił przekazywać innym wieść o tym pojednaniu.
20 We then are ambassadors for Christ; as though God were exhorting you by us, in behalf of Christ we entreat you, Be reconciled to God.
Mając więc za sobą autorytet Chrystusa, jesteśmy wysłannikami samego Boga, który przez nas przemawia do ludzi. Dlatego w imieniu Chrystusa błagamy: Pojednajcie się z Bogiem!
21 Him, who knew not sin, he made sin for us, that we might become God's righteousness in him.
Chrystus nigdy nie zgrzeszył, ale Bóg obciążył Go karą za nasze grzechy, abyśmy dzięki Niemu mogli zostać uniewinnieni przez Boga.
