2 Corinthians 4
1 Therefore, having this ministry through the mercy we received, we are not faint-hearted;
Pelo que, tendo este ministério, segundo a misericórdia que nos foi feita, não desfalecemos,
2 but have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
Antes, rejeitamos as coisas que por vergonha se ocultam, não andando com astúcia nem falsificando a palavra de Deus, mas recomendando-nos à consciência de todo o homem, na presença de Deus, pela manifestação da verdade.
3 But if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to them that perish,
Porém, se também o nosso evangelho está encoberto, para os que se perdem está encoberto:
4 in whom the God of this world blinded the understandings of the unbelieving, so that they cannot behold the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (aiōn g165)
Nos quais o Deus deste século cegou os entendimentos dos incrédulos, para que lhes não resplandeça a luz do evangelho da glória de Cristo, que é a imagem de Deus. (aiōn g165)
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves your bond-servants for Jesus' sake.
Porque não nos pregamos a nós mesmos, mas a Cristo Jesus, o Senhor; e nós mesmos somos vossos servos por amor de Jesus.
6 For it is God, who commanded light to shine out of darkness, that shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
Porque Deus, que disse que das trevas resplandecesse a luz, é quem resplandeceu em nossos corações, para iluminação do conhecimento da glória de Deus, na face de Jesus Cristo.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not of us;
Temos, porém, este tesouro em vasos de barro, para que a excelência do poder seja de Deus, e não de nós.
8 being troubled on every side, yet not distressed; perplexed, but not in despair;
Em tudo somos atribulados, porém não angustiados: perplexos, porém não desesperados:
9 persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
Perseguidos, porém não desamparados: abatidos, porém não perdidos:
10 always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body.
Trazendo sempre por toda a parte a mortificação do Senhor Jesus no nosso corpo, para que a vida de Jesus se manifeste também em nossos corpos;
11 For we who live are continually delivered up to death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
Porque nós, que vivemos, estamos sempre entregues à morte por amor de Jesus, para que a vida de Jesus se manifeste também em a nossa carne mortal.
12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
De maneira que em nós obra a morte, porém em vós a vida.
13 But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, “I believed, and therefore I spoke,” we also believe, and therefore speak;
E temos portanto o mesmo espírito de fé, como está escrito: Cri, por isso falei: nós cremos também, por isso também falamos.
14 knowing that he who raised up the Lord Jesus will raise up us also with Jesus, and will present us with you.
Sabendo que o que resuscitou o Senhor Jesus, nos resuscitará também por Jesus; e nos colocará convosco.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the grace abounding by means of the greater number may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.
Porque todas estas coisas são por amor de vós, para que a graça, que abunda pela ação de graças de muitos abunde para glória de Deus.
16 For which cause we are not faint-hearted; but though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
Por isso não desfalecemos: mas, ainda que o nosso homem exterior se corrompa, o interior, contudo, se renova de dia em dia,
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh out for us, in a higher and still higher degree, an everlasting weight of glory; (aiōnios g166)
Porque a nossa leve e momentanea tribulação produz-nos um peso eterno de glória mui excelente; (aiōnios g166)
18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are but for a time; but the things which are not seen are ever lasting. (aiōnios g166)
Não atentando nós nas coisas que se veem, mas nas que se não veem; porque as que se veem são temporais, e as que se não veem são eternas. (aiōnios g166)
