2 Corinthians 2
1 But I determined this with myself, that my next visit to you should not be in sorrow.
১সেইজন্য আমি নিজে সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছিলাম যে, আবার মনে কষ্টজনক পরিস্থিতিতে তোমাদের কাছে আসব না।
2 For if I make you sorrowful, who is there to make me glad but he that is made sorrowful by me?
২আমি যদি তোমাদের দুঃখ দিই, তবে কে আমাকে আনন্দ দেবে? শুধুমাত্র তোমাদের কাছ থেকে আমি আনন্দ পাই, যারা আমার মাধ্যমে দুঃখ পেয়েছে।
3 And I wrote about this very matter, that I might not on my coming have sorrow from those who ought to gladden me, having confidence in all of you, that my joy is the joy of you all.
৩আর আমি এই কথা লিখেছিলাম, যেন আমি আসলে যাদের থেকে আমার আনন্দ পাওয়া উচিত তাদের থেকে যেন মনোদুঃখ না পাই; কারণ তোমাদের সবার বিষয়ে আমার দৃঢ় বিশ্বাস এই যে, আমার আনন্দেই তোমাদের সবার আনন্দ।
4 For out of much distress and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears, not that ye should be made sorrowful, but that ye might know the exceeding love which I have for you.
৪কারণ অনেক দুঃখ ও মনের কষ্ট নিয়ে এবং অনেক চোখের জল ফেলতে ফেলতে তোমাদের কাছে লিখেছিলাম; তোমাদের দুঃখ দেবার জন্য নয় বরং তোমাদের জন্য আমার যে গভীর ভালবাসা আছে তা তোমাদের জানানোর জন্য।
5 But if any one hath caused grief, he hath caused it not to me alone, but in a measure, not to be too severe on him, to all of you.
৫যদি কেউ দুঃখ দিয়ে থাকে তবে সে শুধু আমাকে দুঃখ দেয় নি কিন্তু কিছু পরিমাণে তোমাদেরও সবাইকে দিয়েছে।
6 Sufficient for such a one is this punishment, which was inflicted by the many;
৬তোমাদের অধিকাংশ লোকেরা তাকে যে শাস্তি দিয়েছে সেটা তার জন্য যথেষ্ট।
7 so that on the contrary ye ought rather to forgive, and console him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
৭সুতরাং তোমরা বরং তাকে শাস্তির বদলে ক্ষমা কর এবং সান্ত্বনা দাও, যেন অতিরিক্ত মনোদুঃখে সেই ব্যক্তি হতাশ হয়ে না পড়ে।
8 Wherefore I beseech you to confirm your love toward him.
৮সেই কারণে বিশেষ করে আমি অনুরোধ করি তার জন্য তোমাদের যে ভালবাসা আছে তা প্রমাণ কর।
9 For to this end also I wrote, that I might know by putting it to the proof, whether ye are obedient in all things.
৯তোমরা সব বিষয়ে বাধ্য আছ কিনা সেটা যাচাই করার জন্য আমি তোমাদের কাছে লিখেছিলাম।
10 But to whom ye forgive anything, I forgive also; for what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, for your sakes I forgave it in the person of Christ,
১০যদি তোমরা কাউকে ক্ষমা কর তবে আমিও সেইভাবে তাকে ক্ষমা করি; কারণ আমি যদি কোন কিছু ক্ষমা করে থাকি, তবে তোমাদের জন্য খ্রীষ্টের উপস্থিতিতে তা করেছি।
11 that Satan might not gain an advantage over us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
১১যেন শয়তান আমাদের মনের ওপরে কোন চালাকি না করতে পারে কারণ তার কুপরিকল্পনাগুলি আমাদের অজানা নেই।
12 Now when I came to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ, and a door had been opened to me by the Lord,
১২আমি যখন খ্রীষ্টের সুসমাচার প্রচার করতে ত্রোয়া শহরে গিয়েছিলাম, তখন প্রভু আমার সামনে একটা দরজা খুলে দিয়েছিলেন,
13 I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother; but taking my leave of them, I went forth into Macedonia.
১৩আমার বিশ্বাসী ভাই তীতকে না পেয়ে আমার মনে কোনো শান্তি ছিল না। সুতরাং তাদের কাছ থেকে বিদায় নিয়ে আমি মাকিদনিয়ায় চলে গেলাম।
14 But thanks be to God, who always exhibiteth us in triumph in Christ, and manifesteth through us the odor of the knowledge of him in every place.
১৪ঈশ্বরকে ধন্যবাদ যে তিনি সবদিন আমাদের নিয়ে খ্রীষ্টে বিজয় যাত্রা করেন এবং তাঁর বিষয় জানা হলো সুগন্ধের মত আর এই সুগন্ধ আমাদের মাধ্যমে সব জায়গায় প্রচারিত হচ্ছে।
15 For we are to God a sweet odor of Christ among those who are being saved, and those who are perishing;
১৫কারণ যারা উদ্ধার পাচ্ছে ও যারা ধ্বংস হচ্ছে এদের সকলের কাছে আমরা ঈশ্বরের কাছ থেকে খ্রীষ্টের সুগন্ধের মত।
16 to the latter we are the odor of death, producing death; and to the former the odor of life, producing life. And who is sufficient for these things?
১৬যাদের মৃত্যু হচ্ছে তাদের কাছে আমরা মৃত্যুর গন্ধ স্বরূপ এবং যারা উদ্ধার পাচ্ছে তাদের কাছে জীবনের সুগন্ধ, যার ফল হলো অনন্ত জীবন। এই কাজের জন্য যোগ্য কে আছে?
17 For we are not as the many, who adulterate the word of God; but as from sincerity, but as from God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.
১৭কারণ আমরা অন্যদের মত নয়, যে, ঈশ্বরের বাক্য নিজের লাভের জন্য বিকৃত করছি। বরং শুদ্ধতার সঙ্গে ঈশ্বরের লোক হিসাবে আমরা ঈশ্বরের দৃষ্টিতে খ্রীষ্টের কথা বলছি।
