< 1 Peter 2 >

1 Laying aside therefore all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all slander,
Ya mere, wezuganụ nʼibu iro nʼobi na aghụghọ niile unu, kwụsịnụ ịgha ụgha, ịbụ ndị ihu abụọ, ndị na-ekwo ekworo, na ndị na-ekwutọ mmadụ ibe ha.
2 as new-born babes, desire the spiritual, pure milk, that ye may grow thereby to salvation;
Dịka ụmụ a mụrụ ọhụrụ, bụrụnụ ndị agụụ ịṅụ mmiri ara nke Mmụọ Nsọ a na-agwaghị ihe ọbụla na-agụ, ka unu nwee ike site na ya na-eto eto nʼime nzọpụta unu.
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
Ugbu a, unu detụrụla ya ire matakwa na Onyenwe anyị dị mma.
4 To whom coming, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but in the sight of God chosen, honored,
Bịakwutenụ ya, Nkume ahụ dị ndụ, onye ụmụ mmadụ jụrụ, maọbụ onye Chineke họpụtara, onye dị oke ọnụahịa nye ya.
5 be ye yourselves also, as living stones, built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Unu onwe unu kwa dị ka nkume dị ndụ ka a na-ewu ime ka unu ghọọ ụlọ ime mmụọ, ka unu bụrụkwa ndị nchụaja dị nsọ, ndị na-achụ aja ime mmụọ nke Chineke na-anabata site na Jisọs Kraịst.
6 Because it is contained in the Scripture: “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner-stone, chosen, honored; and he that believeth in him shall not be put to shame.”
Nʼihi nʼakwụkwọ nsọ kwuru, “Lee, ana m atọgbọ na Zayọn otu nkume, nke a họpụtara, bụkwa nkume isi ntọala dị oke ọnụahịa. Onye ọbụla kweere na ya, agaghị eme ka ihere mee ya.”
7 To you therefore who believe, is the honor; but to the disobedient, “the stone which the builders rejected, the same hath become the corner-stone,”
Ma nye unu ndị kwere ekwe nkume a dị oke ọnụahịa, ma nʼebe ndị ahụ na-ekweghị ekwe nọ, “Ọ bụ nkume nke ndị na-ewu ụlọ jụrụ nke ghọrọ nkume isi ntọala ụlọ.”
8 and “a stone of stumbling, and a rock to strike against;” even to those who stumble, being disobedient to the word; to which they were also appointed.
Ọ bụ kwa, “Nkume nke na-eme ka ndị mmadụ sọọ ngọngọ, oke nkume nke na-eme ka ha daa.” Ha na-asọ ngọngọ nʼihi na ha jụrụ irube isi nʼokwu ahụ. Nke a bụkwa ihe a kara aka banyere ha.
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye may show forth the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light;
Ma unu bụ ndị a họpụtara, otu ndị nchụaja eze, mba dị nsọ, ndị nke Chineke nʼonwe ya, ka unu bụrụ ndị na-ekwusa otuto ya, bụ onye ahụ si nʼọchịchịrị kpọbata unu nʼìhè ya dị ebube.
10 who once were not a people, but are now the people of God; who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Nʼoge gara aga, unu abụghị ndị Chineke, ma ugbu a, unu bụ ndị ya.
11 Beloved, I exhort you, as sojourners and strangers, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
Nʼihi ya, ndị enyi m, ana m arịọ unu, dịka ndị bụ ọbịa na ndị na-agba ọsọ ndụ nʼụwa a, nke unu bụ, na-asị unu, wezuganụ onwe unu site nʼagụụ mmehie nke na-ebuso mkpụrụobi unu agha.
12 having your manner of life among the gentiles honorable; that, whereas they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by your good works, which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
Bienụ ezi ndụ nʼetiti ndị mba ọzọ, ka ọ ga-abụ na a sị na ha ebo unu ebubo ime ihe ọjọọ, ha ga-ahụ ọrụ ọma unu, ma nye Chineke otuto nʼụbọchị ahụ ọ ga-abịa.
13 Submit yourselves therefore to every human institution for the Lord's sake; whether to the king, as supreme;
Werenụ onwe unu nyefee, nʼihi Onyenwe anyị, nʼokpuru ọchịchị niile e guzobere nʼetiti ụmụ mmadụ, ma ọchịchị ahụ ọ bụ nke eze, dịka onye ike ya kacha nke ibe ya,
14 or to governors, as being sent by him for the punishment of evil-doers, and the praise of those who do well.
maọbụ nke ọchịchị gọvanọ, onye e guzobere nʼihi ịta ndị na-eme ihe ọjọọ ahụhụ, na ito ndị na-eme ezi ihe otuto.
15 For so is the will of God, that with well-doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men;
Nʼihi na ọ bụ uche Chineke na unu ga-esite nʼezi ọrụ unu kpuchie ọnụ ndị ahụ na-esite na-amaghị ihe ha, na-ekwu okwu nzuzu.
16 as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as servants of God.
Na-ebinụ ndụ dị ka ndị nwere onwe ha, ma unu ejikwala mnwere onwe unu mere ihe mkpuchi nke ajọ ihe. Bienụ dịka ụmụodibo Chineke.
17 Honor all men; love the brotherhood; fear God; honor the king.
Sọpụrụnụ mmadụ niile dịka o si kwesi. Gosi ndị niile kwere ekwe ịhụnanya. Tụọ Chineke egwu, ma na-asọpụrụ eze.
18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and considerate, but also to the perverse.
Ndị ohu, ruberenụ ndị nwe unu isi, na-enyekwa ha nsọpụrụ na ugwu ruuru ha. Unu emela nke a nye naanị ndị bụ ezi mmadụ, na ndị nwere obiọma nʼebe unu nọ, kama meekwanụ ya ọ bụladị nye ndị afọ tara mmiri.
19 For this is acceptable, if any one on account of a sense of duty to God endureth hardships, suffering wrongfully.
Nʼihi na nke a bụ ihe inye ekele ma ọ bụrụ na unu ejiri ntachiobi na-edi ahụhụ na-ezighị ezi na-adakwasị unu, nʼihi na unu na-eme ihe Chineke na-achọ.
20 For what glory is it, if, when ye are beaten for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently [[it is glory]]; for this is acceptable with God.
21 For to this ye were called; because even Christ suffered for us, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps;
Ọ bụ nʼihi ihe dị otu a, ka e jiri kpọọ unu, nʼihi na Kraịst hụrụ ahụhụ nʼihi unu. Ọ bụkwa ihe ịmaatụ nye unu. Na-esonụ nzọ ụkwụ ya.
22 who committed no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
“O nweghị mgbe ọbụla o mehiere, o nwekwaghị mgbe onye ọbụla nụrụ okwu aghụghọ nʼọnụ ya.”
23 who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered did not threaten, but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously;
24 who himself bore our sins in his own body on the cross, that we, having died to our sins, should live to righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.
Nʼelu obe ahụ, o buuru mmehie anyị niile bokwasị onwe ya mgbe ọ nwụrụ, ime ka anyị nwee ike ịbụ ndị nwụrụ anwụ nʼebe mmehie dị; ma dịrị ndụ nʼebe ezi omume dị. Ọ bụkwa site nʼapa ọnya dị ya nʼahụ ka o ji gwọọ unu.
25 For ye were going astray like sheep; but ye have now returned to the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
