< 1 Corinthians 14 >
1 Strive to possess love; and desire earnestly the spiritual gifts, but especially that of prophesying.
Mululondaghe ulughano na kunoghelua kyongo ifipelua ifya munumbula, looli mughinaghe kyongo ulwakuuti muka kyongo uvuviili.
2 For he that speaketh in an [[unknown]] tongue speaketh not to men, but to God; for no one heareth; but in the Spirit he speaketh mysteries;
Ulwakuva umwene juno ijova injovele imia naijova na vaanhu looli ijova nu Nguluve. Ulwakuva nakwale juno ajitang'inie ulwakuva ijova sino sifisime mu Mhepo.
3 but he that prophesieth speaketh to men edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
Looli umwene juno ivila uvuviili, ijova navaanhu na pikuvakangasia inumbula, nakuvanyamasia.
4 He that speaketh in an [[unknown]] tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
Umwene juno ijova injovele imia ikujimika mwene, looli umwene juno ivila uvuvili ikujenga ulukong'ano.
5 I would that ye all spoke with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied; for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, unless he interpret, that the church may receive edification.
Lino ninoghelua kuuti umue mweni mujovaghe injovele imia. looli pa isio sooni, ninoghelua kuuti muvilaghe uvuviili. Umwene juno ivila uvuviili ghwe mbaha kukila juno ijova injovele imia (nakuava avisaghe ughwa kughanula), ulwakuuti ulukong'ano lukagule kujengeka.
6 But now, brethren, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, unless I speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by teaching?
Looli lino, vakuulu numue va mwanilumbu vango, ningise kulyumue nakujova injovele imia, nikuvavumbulila kiki umue? Nanighwesia, ulwene kuuti nijova numue kusila ija lusetulilo, nambe kusila ija vumang'anyi, nambe uvuvili, nambe kusila ija luvulanisio.
7 And even things without life that give sound, whether pipe or harp, if they make no distinction in the sounds, how shall that be known which is piped or harped?
Nambe ifinu ifisila vwumi heene filimbi nambe kilongilongi fingaleke kuhumia ilisio lino lipungilanile, kwande fikagulika ndani kye kiliku kino kinenilue?
8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for the battle?
Ulwakuva nave lukelema luhumia ilisio lino nalimanyika, luvisaghe ndani umuunhu ikagula kuuti ghwe nsiki ghwa kuling'ania ku lilugu.
9 So also ye, unless ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall that be known which is spoken? For ye will be speaking into the air.
Lulivulevule najumue. Mungahumie nulumili ilisio lino nalyelyene, pe luva ndani umuunhubakagule kino mujova? Mujovaghe, nakwele juno kwande ikuvaling'ania.
10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and not one is without meaning.
Nasakughanania kuuti kuliinjovele nyinga sili papinga mu iisi, nakwili nambe jimo insila luvumbulilo.
11 If then I know not the meaning of the language, I shall be to him that speaketh a foreigner, and he that speaketh a foreigner to me.
Looli nave nanijikagwile injovele jiiti kiki, niva mesia kwa mwenejuno ijova, ghwop juno ikujijova iva mesia kulyune.
12 So also ye, since ye are eager to possess spiritual gifts, be earnest to abound in them to the edification of the church.
Fye lulivuo kulyumue, Ulwakuva munoghelua kyongo kulola ivusilo sa Mhepo, mulondaghe kuuti lughinaghe kyongo kukulujenga ulukong'ano.
13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an [[unknown]] tongue pray that he may interpret.
Pa uluo, umwene juno ijova injovele imia ifunyaghe ulwakuuti apelue kukusighanula.
14 For if I pray in an [[unknown]] tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
Ulwakuva ningifunye injovele imia, inumbula jaango jikufunya, looli uluhala lwango lusila meke.
15 How stands it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also; I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
Nivomba kiki? Nikufunyagha mu numbula jaango, looli kange nikufunyagha nuluhala lwango. Nikwimbagha mu numbula jaango, nikwimbagha nhuluhala lwango kange.
16 Else, if thou bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the place of the unlearned say the Amen at thy giving of thanks, since he understandeth not what thou art saying?
Neke looli, ungamughinie u Nguluve mu numbula, umwene juno mesia mu numbula ikwitika “Ameni” pano ghuhumia uluhongesio, nambe nasikagwile sino ghujova?
17 For thou indeed givest thanks well; but the other is not edified.
Ulwakuva kyang'haani uve ghuhongesia vunofu, looli ujunge jula naijengeka.
18 I thank God, I speak in an [[unknown]] tongue more than ye all;
Nikumongesia u Nguluve ulwakuva nijova injovele imia kukuvakila umue mweni.
19 yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might also instruct others, than ten thousand words in an [[unknown]] tongue.
Looli mu ng'ong'ano kiba nijovaghe amasio ghahano muno nikitang'anisie une ulwakuuti nikagule kukuvavulanisia avange, kukila amasio imbilima kijigho khu njovele imia.
20 Brethren, do not become children in understanding; yet in malice be children, but in understanding be men.
Vakuulu numue va mwanilumbu vango, mulekaghe kuuva vaanha musaghile jiinu, pa uluo pipuling'ana nuvu hosi, muvisaghe heene vaanha vafyele. Looli mulwa kusagha mulyumue muvisaghe vaanhu vagoyo.
21 In the Law it is written: “With men of other tongues and with other lips will I speak to this people,
Jilembilue mu ndaghilo, “Kuvaanhu va munjovele ijinge na mumalomo agha vahesia nijovaghe na vaanhu ava. Looli nave vulevule navangamulikaghe,” ijova u Mutwa.
22 and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.” Wherefore the tongues are for a sign, not to believers, but to unbelievers; but prophesying is not for unbelievers, but for believers.
Pa uluo, imili fye fidegho, nakwekuuti kuvala vala vano vitike, looli kuvano navitike. Looli kuhumia uvuviili kye kidegho, nakwekuuti kuvano navitike, looli vwimila vala vano vitike.
23 If therefore the whole church be assembled in one place, and all be speaking with tongues, and there come in those who are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
Lola, nave ulukong'ano lwoni lukong'anile palikimo neke vooni vajovaghe injovele imia, navahesia navala vano navitiki viingilevuuli navanoghile kukuvavula kuuti muli namapepo?
24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that is an unbeliever, or unlearned, he is convinced by all, he is searched through by all,
Looli nave mweni muvila uvuvili juno naitike nambe mesia ingela, ikwesuagha ku sooni sino ipulika. Ihighuagha kusoni sino sijovua.
25 the secrets of his heart become manifest; and so falling down on his face, he will worship God, and report that God is indeed within you.
Uvusyefu vwa mwoojo ghwa mwene vwale vwifwikuka. Sino kwande sihumila, ale ighua na pikupama na pikufunya kwa Nguluve. Ale ilaata kuuti u Nguluve alinumue.
26 How is it then, brethren? When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a lesson of instruction, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation; let all things be done for edification.
Kiki kivingilila kange, vakuulu numue va mwanilumbu vaango? Pano mutang'ana palikimo, umuunhu ghweni ilulutila, imbulanisio, isyetulilo, injovele imia nambe uvughanule. Muvombaghe iisi sooni ulwakuuti mujengaghe ulukong'ano.
27 If any one speak in an [[unknown]] tongue, let it be by two, or, at the most, by three, and in turn; and let one interpret.
Nave jumonga ijova injovele imia, pe vavisaghe vaviili nambe vatatu, nujunge muvutavike. Umuunhu lunoghile kyongo aghanulaghe kino kijovilue.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
Looli nave napwale umuunhu juno ighanula, looli umuunhu ghweni mu avuo ikalaghe kiimie mun'kate mulukong'ano. Looli umuunhu ghweni ajovaghe mwene na kwa Nguluve.
29 And of the prophets let two or three speak, and let the others judge;
Na vaviili vavili nambe vatatu vavilaghe, neke avange vapulikisiaghe na kughanula sino sijovilue.
30 if anything be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first speaker be silent.
Looli ujunge juno ikalileanga fwikulilue lumonga mumbombo, juno juno avele iviila ajikaghe.
31 For one by one ye can all prophesy, that all may learn, and all may be exhorted.
Ulwakuva ghweni mulyumue anoghile kuhumia uvuvili vumo ye ujunge ulwakuuti umuunhu ghweni anoghile kumanyila kange vooni va noghele kukangasivua.
32 And spirits of prophets are subject to prophets;
Ulwakuva inumbula isa vavili sili pasi pavuloleli pa vavili.
33 for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,
Ulwakuuva u Nguluve naghwe Nguluve ughwa vulamafu, looli ghwe lutengano. Ndavule jilivuo mu ng'ong'ano sooni isa vitiki,
34 let your women keep silence in the churches; for it is not permitted them to speak, but they are to be in subjection, as also saith the Law.
lonoghile avamama vikalaghe kimie mu ng'ong'ano. Ulwakuuva navitavulilua kujova. Pa uluo, vanoghile kuva vakoola, ndavule kange indaghilo pano jijova.
35 And if they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is a shame for a woman to speak in the church.
Nave kulikimonga vinoghelua kumanyila, looli vavaposie avaghosi vavanave munyumba. Ulwakuva se soni kwa mumama kujova mulukong'ano.
36 What! Did the word of God come forth from you? Or did it come to you alone?
Vuli ilisio lya Nguluve likahumile kulyumue? Vuli lilisile jumue mwe veene?
37 If any one thinketh himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him know surely that the directions I am writing to you are the Lord's;
Nave umuunhu ikuvona kuuti ve vavili nambe lwa mhepo, lumunoghile aghakagule amasio ghano nikuvalembela kuuti lwe lulaghilo lwa Mutwa.
38 but if any one be ignorant, let him be ignorant!
Looli nave nakagwile agha, mumuleke aleke kukagulika.
39 Wherefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues;
Pa uluo, vakuulu numue va mwanilumbu vango, mulondaghe fiijo kuhumia uvuviili, namungansighaghe umuunhu ghweni kujova ni njovele.
40 but let all things be done becomingly, and in order.
Looli amasio ghoni gha vombeke vunofu nuvutavike.
