1 Then what advantage does the Jew have? Or what is the profit of circumcision?
Pea ka kuo pehē, pea ko e hā ʻae lelei lahi ʻoku ʻi he Siu? Pe ko e hā hono ʻaonga ʻoe kamu?
2 Much in every way. Because first of all, they were entrusted with the oracles of God.
ʻOku lahi ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē: kae lahi taha pe koeʻuhi ko e tuku kiate kinautolu ʻae ngaahi folofola ʻae ʻOtua.
3 For what if some were without faith? Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God?
Ka ko e hā, ʻo kapau naʻe ai ha niʻihi naʻe ʻikai tui? ʻE fakataʻeʻaonga ʻe heʻenau taʻetui ʻae moʻoni ʻae ʻOtua?
4 Absolutely not. Let God be found true, but every human being a liar. As it is written, "That you may be justified in your words, and prevail when you judge."
ʻE ʻikai ʻaupito: ʻio, ke moʻoni ʻae ʻOtua, kae loi ʻae tangata kotoa pē; ʻo hangē ko ia kuo tohi, “Koeʻuhi ke ke tonuhia ʻi hoʻo ngaahi tala, pea koeʻuhi ke ke māʻoniʻoni ʻoka ke ka fakamaau.”
5 But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what will we say? Is God unrighteous who inflicts wrath? (I am speaking in human terms).
Pea kapau ʻoku hā ʻae māʻoniʻoni ʻae ʻOtua ʻi heʻetau taʻemāʻoniʻoni, te tau pehē ko e hā? ʻOku taʻeangatonu ʻae ʻOtua ʻi heʻene houhau? (ʻOku ou lea ʻo hangē ko e tangata.)
6 Absolutely not. For then how will God judge the world?
ʻIkai ʻaupito: he ka ne pehē ʻe fēfē hono fakamaau ʻe he ʻOtua ʻa māmani?
7 For if the truth of God through my lie abounded to his glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?
He kapau kuo tupulekina ʻo lahi ʻae moʻoni ʻae ʻOtua, ke ongoongolelei ia ʻi heʻeku loi; pea ko e hā ʻoku kei fakamaau ai au ko e angahala?
8 And Why not (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), "Let us do evil, that good may come?" Their condemnation is just.
Pea [ko e hā ]ʻoku ʻikai ai [ke pehē muʻa], (ʻo hangē ko hono lohiakiʻi ʻakimautolu, pea hangē ko hono fakapapau ia ʻe he niʻihi ʻoku mau lea [ʻo pehē]), “Ke tau fai kovi, kae tupu ai ha lelei?” Ko honau fakamalaʻia ko e meʻa totonu.
9 What then? Are we better than they? No, in no way. For we previously warned both Jews and Greeks, that they are all under sin.
Pea fēfē ai? ʻOku lelei lahi hake ʻakitautolu? ʻOku ʻikai ʻaupito: he kuo ʻosi ʻemau fakamoʻoni ʻoku fakatou moʻulaloa kotoa pē ki he angahala, ʻae kakai Siu mo e kakai Senitaile;
10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one."
ʻO hangē ko ia kuo tohi, “ʻOku ʻikai ha tokotaha ʻoku māʻoniʻoni, ʻoku ʻikai ʻaupito ha taha:
11 "There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God.
ʻOku ʻikai ha taha ʻoku ne ʻiloʻi, ʻoku ʻikai ha taha ʻoku kumi ki he ʻOtua.
12 They have all turned aside. They have together become unprofitable. There is no one who does good, there is not even one."
Kuo nau hē kotoa pē, kuo nau hoko ʻo taʻeʻaonga kotoa pē; ʻoku ʻikai ha tokotaha ʻoku fai lelei, ʻoku ʻikai ʻaupito ha taha,
13 "Their throat is an open tomb. With their tongues they have used deceit." "Viper's poison is under their lips;"
Ko honau kia ko e fonualoto kuo matangaki; kuo nau fai fakakākā ʻaki honau ʻelelo; ko e meʻa kona ʻoe ngata fekai ʻoku ʻi lalo ʻi honau loungutu:
14 "Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness."
ʻOku pito honau ngutu ʻi he kapekape mo e lea fakamahū:
15 "Their feet are swift to shed blood.
Ko honau vaʻe ʻoku vave ke lilingi toto:
16 Destruction and calamity are in their paths.
ʻOku ʻi honau ngaahi hala ʻae fakaʻauha mo e malaʻia:
17 The way of peace, they have not known."
Pea ko e hala ʻoe melino ʻoku ʻikai te nau ʻiloʻi:
18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes."
Pea ʻoku ʻikai ha manavahē ki he ʻOtua ʻi honau ʻao.”
19 Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.
Ko eni, ʻoku tau ʻilo ko ia kotoa pē ʻoku fakahā ʻi he fono, ʻoku fakahā ia kiate kinautolu ʻoku moʻulaloa ki he fono: koeʻuhi ke mapuni ʻae ngutu kotoa pē, kae nofo ʻa māmani kotoa pē kuo halaia ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻOtua.
20 Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
Ko ia ʻe ʻikai fakatonuhiaʻi ha tokotaha ʻi hono ʻao ʻe he ngaahi ngāue ʻoe fono: he ʻoku mei he fono ʻae ʻiloʻi ʻoe angahala.
21 But now apart from the law, a righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified by the Law and the Prophets;
Ka ko eni, ʻoku fakahā ʻae fakatonuhiaʻi ʻe he ʻOtua ʻi he taʻekau ʻae fono, pea ʻoku fakamoʻoni ia ʻe he fono mo e kau palōfita;
22 even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. For there is no distinction,
ʻIo, ʻae fakatonuhiaʻi ʻe he ʻOtua ʻaia ʻoku ʻi he tui kia Sisu Kalaisi kiate kinautolu kotoa pē pea ʻiate kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku tui: he ʻoku ʻikai ha fai kehekehe:
23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;
He kuo fai angahala kotoa pē, pea tomui ʻi he fakamālō mei he ʻOtua.
24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;
Pea ʻoku fakatonuhiaʻi ko e ʻofa mataʻataʻatā pē ʻi heʻene ʻaloʻofa, koeʻuhi ko e totongi huhuʻi ʻaia ʻoku ʻia Kalaisi Sisu:
25 whom God set forth whom God displayed publicly as a mercy seat, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, because in God's forbearance he had passed over the sins previously committed;
ʻAia kuo fakahā atu ʻe he ʻOtua ko e feilaulau fakalelei ia, ʻi he tui ki hono taʻataʻa, koeʻuhi ke fakahā ʻene māʻoniʻoni ʻi he fakamolemole ʻoe angahala kuo fai, ko e meʻa ʻi he faʻa kātaki ʻae ʻOtua;
26 to demonstrate his righteousness at this present time, so that he would be just, and the justifier of him who has faith in Jesus.
Ke fakahā ʻi he kuonga ni ʻa ʻene māʻoniʻoni: koeʻuhi ke angatonu pe ia, ka ko e fakatonuhia ia ʻo ia ʻoku tui kia Sisu.
27 Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. By what manner of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.
Pea ka kuo pehē, pea kofa'a 'ae pole? Kuo kapusi ia. 'E he fono fono fē? ʻOe ngaahi ngāue? ʻIkai ʻaupito: ka ʻe he fono ʻoe tui.
28 For we maintain that one is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
Ko ia ʻoku mau tukupau eni, ʻoku fakatonuhiaʻi ʻae tangata ʻe he tui, ʻo taʻekau ai ʻae ngaahi ngāue ʻae fono.
29 Or is God for Jews only? Is he not the God of the non-Jews also? Yes, of the non-Jews also,
Ko e ʻOtua ia ʻoe kakai Siu pē? Pea ʻikai ʻoe Senitaile foki? ʻIo, ʻoe kakai Senitaile foki:
30 since indeed there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith, and the uncircumcised through faith.
He ko e ʻOtua pe taha, ʻaia ʻoku ne fakatonuhiaʻi ʻae kamu ʻe he tui, mo e taʻekamu ʻi he tui.
31 Do we then nullify the law through faith? Absolutely not. No, we establish the law.
Pea ʻoku tau fakataʻeʻaongaʻi koa ʻae fono ʻi he tui? ʻe ʻikai ʻaupito: ka ʻoku mau fakatuʻumaʻu ʻae fono.
