< Psalms 81 >
1 [For the Chief Musician. On an instrument of Gath. By Asaph.] Sing aloud to God, our strength. Make a joyful shout to the God of Jacob.
Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he Kitita, ko e Saame ʻa ʻAsafi. Hiva kalanga ki he ʻOtua ko hotau mālohi, kalanga fakafiefia ki he ʻOtua ʻo Sēkope.
2 Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine, the pleasant lyre with the harp.
Toʻo mai ʻae saame, pea ʻomi ʻae kihiʻi lali, mo e haʻape mālie mo e saliteli.
3 Blow the trumpet at the New Moon, at the full moon, on our feast day.
Ifi mālohi ʻae meʻa lea ʻi he māhina foʻou, ʻi he ʻaho kuo tuʻutuʻuni, ʻi hotau ʻaho kātoanga mamalu.
4 For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
He ko e fekau eni ki ʻIsileli, mo e fono ʻae ʻOtua ʻo Sēkope.
5 He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out over the land of Egypt, I heard a language that I did not know.
Naʻa ne tuʻutuʻuni eni ʻia Siosefa ko e fakamoʻoni, ʻi heʻene ʻalu atu ʻi he fonua ko ʻIsipite: ʻaia naʻaku fanongo ai ki he lea naʻe ʻikai te u ʻiloa.
6 "I removed his shoulder from the burden. His hands were freed from the basket.
“Naʻaku hiki ʻae kavenga mei hono uma: naʻe hao hono nima mei he ngaahi kato.
7 You called in trouble, and I delivered you. I answered you in the secret place of thunder. I tested you at the waters of Meribah." (Selah)
Naʻa ke ui ʻi he mamahi, pea ne u fakamoʻui koe: naʻaku talia koe ʻi he potu lilo ʻoe mana: ne u ʻahiʻahiʻi koe ʻi he vai ʻo Melipa. (Sila)
8 "Hear, my people, and I will testify to you, Israel, if you would listen to me.
Fanongo, ʻE hoku kakai, pea te u fakapapau kiate koe: ʻE ʻIsileli, kapau te ke tokanga mai kiate au;
9 There shall be no strange god in you, neither shall you worship any foreign god.
ʻOua naʻa fokotuʻu ha ʻotua foʻou kiate koe: pea ʻe ʻikai te ke hū ki ha ʻotua foʻou.
10 I am YHWH, your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Ko au Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, naʻaku ʻomi koe mei he fonua ko ʻIsipite: fakamanga ho ngutu ke lahi, pea te u fakafonu ia.
11 But my people did not listen to my voice. Israel desired none of me.
“Ka naʻe ʻikai fie tokanga ʻa hoku kakai ki hoku leʻo; pea naʻe ʻikai manako ʻa ʻIsileli kiate au.
12 So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts, that they might walk in their own counsels.
Ko ia ne u fakatukutukuʻi ai ʻakinautolu ki he holi kovi ʻa honau loto: pea naʻa nau ʻaʻeva ʻi heʻenau ngaahi filioʻi.
13 Oh that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways.
ʻAmusiaange ʻeau kuo tokanga ʻa hoku kakai kiate au, pea ʻeveʻeva ʻa ʻIsileli ʻi hoku ngaahi hala!
14 I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn my hand against their adversaries.
Pehē, kuo u fakavaivaiʻi leva honau ngaahi fili, ʻo mafao atu hoku nima ki honau kau fakamamahi.
15 The haters of YHWH would cringe before him, and their punishment would last forever.
Pea ko e kau fehiʻa kia Sihova kuo nau fakavaivai ʻakinautolu kiate ia: ka ʻe tolonga ʻo taʻengata honau ngaahi ʻaho.
16 And he would have fed him with the finest wheat, and satisfied you with honey from the rock."
Kuo ne fafanga foki ʻakinautolu ʻaki ʻae uite mātuʻaki lelei: pea u fakamākona ʻaki ʻakinautolu ʻae hone mei he maka.”
