< Psalms 78 >
1 [A contemplation by Asaph.] Hear my teaching, my people. Turn your ears to the words of my mouth.
Dumngegkayo iti panursurok, dakayo a tattaok, denggenyo dagiti sasao nga agtaud iti ngiwatko. Agsaoak kadagiti pangngarig;
2 I will open my mouth in a parable. I will utter dark sayings since the beginning of the world,
Kantaek dagiti nailimed a banbanag maipanggep iti napalabas.
3 which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
Dagitoy dagiti banbanag a nangngegan ken nasursurotayo, dagiti banbanag nga imbaga kadatayo dagiti kapuonantayo.
4 We will not hide them from their descendants, telling to the generation to come the praises of YHWH, his strength, and his wondrous works that he has done.
Saantayo nga ilimed dagitoy kadagiti kaputotanda. Ibagatayo kadagiti sumaruno a henerasion ti maipanggep kadagiti nadayaw nga ar-aramid ni Yahweh, ti kinabilegna ken dagiti nakakaskasdaaw nga inaramidna.
5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a teaching in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children;
Ta nangipaulog isuna ti panangpaneknekna iti tulagna kenni Jacob ken nangituyang ti linteg iti Israel. Imbilinna kadagiti kapuonantayo nga isuroda dagitoy kadagiti annakda.
6 that the generation to come might know it, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell their children,
Imbilinna daytoy tapno maamoan dagiti sumaruno a henerasion dagiti bilinna, dagiti ubbing a saan pay a naipasngay, a mangibaganto met kadagiti annakda.
7 that they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments,
Ket mangnamnamadanto iti Dios ken saanda a malipatan dagiti aramidna ngem salimetmetanda ketdi dagiti bilinna.
8 and might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not make their hearts loyal, whose spirit was not steadfast with God.
Ket saandanto a kasla kadagiti kapuonanda, a nasukir ken managrebelde a henerasion, henerasion a saan a nalinteg dagiti pusoda, ken saan a napudno dagiti espirituda iti Dios.
9 The people of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.
Nagtagipana dagiti Efraimita, ngem nagsanudda iti kaaldawan ti gubat.
10 They did not keep God's covenant, and refused to walk by his Law.
Saanda a tinungpal ti katulagan ti Dios, ken nagkedkedda a mangtungpal ti lintegna.
11 They forgot his doings, his wondrous works that he had shown them.
Nalipatanda dagiti aramidna, dagiti nakakaskasdaaw a banag nga impakitana kadakuada.
12 He did marvelous things in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
Dagiti nakakaskasdaaw a banag nga inaramidna iti imatang dagiti kapuonanda iti daga ti Egipto, iti daga ti Soan.
13 He split the sea, and caused them to pass through. He made the waters stand as a heap.
Ginudduana ti taaw ken indalanna ida a lumasat iti daytoy; pinagtakderna ti danum a kasla pader.
14 In the daytime he also led them with a cloud, and all night with a light of fire.
Iti aldaw, indalanna ida babaen ti ulep ken iti agpatpatnag babaen ti raniag ti apuy.
15 He split rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink abundantly as out of the depths.
Pinagrengngatna ti dakkel a bato iti let-ang, ket inikkanna ida iti aglaplapusanan a danum, nga umdas a mangpunno iti kaunggan iti baybay.
16 He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.
Pinagubbogna ti danum manipud iti dakkel a bato ken pinagayusna a kasla kadagiti karayan.
17 Yet they still went on to sin against him, to rebel against the Most High in the desert.
Ngem intultuloyda latta ti agbasbasol kenkuana, agsuksukirda iti Kangatoan idiay let-ang.
18 They tempted God in their heart by asking food according to their desire.
Kinaritda ti Dios iti pusoda babaen iti panagdawatda iti taraon a mangpennek iti tarigagayda.
19 Yes, they spoke against God. They said, "Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?
Nagsaoda iti maibusor iti Dios; kinunada, “Maikkanatayo ngata ti Dios iti panganantayo idiay let-ang?
20 Look, he struck the rock, so that waters gushed out, and streams overflowed. Can he give bread also? Will he provide flesh for his people?"
Kitaenyo, idi binaotna ti dakkel a bato, nagpussuak ti danum ket nagluppias dagiti waig. Ngem makaited met kadi iti tinapay? Mangipaay kadi isuna iti karne kadagiti tattaona?”
21 Therefore YHWH heard, and was angry. A fire was kindled against Jacob, anger also went up against Israel,
Idi nangngeg ni Yahweh daytoy, nakaunget isuna; isu a simgiab ti apuyna a maibusor kenni Jacob, ket nagdissuor ti pungtotna ti Israel,
22 because they did not believe in God, and did not trust in his salvation.
gapu ta saanda a namati iti Dios ken saanda a nagtalek iti panangisalakanna.
23 Yet he commanded the clouds above, and opened the doors of heaven.
Nupay kasta, binilinna ti tangatang ken linuktanna dagiti ruangan ti tangatang.
24 He rained down manna on them to eat, and gave them bread from heaven.
Pinagtudona ti mana nga agpaay a kanenda, ken intedna kadakuada ti trigo manipud iti langit.
25 Man ate the bread of the mighty ones. He sent them food to the full.
Kinnan dagiti tattao ti tinapay dagiti anghel. Inyegna kadakuada iti aglaplapusanan a taraon.
26 He caused the east wind to blow in the sky. By his power he guided the south wind.
Pinagpul-oyna ti angin nga aggapu iti daya a mangpuyot iti tangatang, ken inturongna ti angin ti abagatan babaen iti pannakabalinna.
27 He rained also flesh on them as the dust; winged birds as the sand of the seas.
Pinagtudona iti karne kadakuada a kasla tapok, dagiti tumatayab a kas kaadu dagiti darat iti baybay.
28 He let it fall in the midst of his camp, all around his tent.
Nagtinnagda iti tengnga ti kampoda, iti aglikmot dagiti toldada.
29 So they ate, and were well filled. He gave them their own desire.
Isu a nangan ken nabsogda. Intedna kadakuada ti tartarigagayanda.
30 They did not turn from their cravings. Their food was yet in their mouths,
Ngem saanda pay latta a nabsog; adda pay laeng kadagiti ngiwatda ti taraonda.
31 when the anger of God went up against them, killed some of the fattest of them, and struck down the young men of Israel.
Ket dinarup ida ti pungtot ti Dios ket pinatayna ti kapipigsaan kadakuada. Pinasagna dagiti agtutubo a lallaki iti Israel.
32 For all this they still sinned, and did not believe in his wondrous works.
Iti laksid daytoy, agbasbasolda latta ken saanda a namati kadagiti nakakaskasdaaw nga aramidna.
33 Therefore he consumed their days in vanity, and their years in terror.
Ngarud pinaababa ti Dios dagiti al-aldawda, napnoan ti buteng dagiti tawtawenda.
34 When he killed them, then they inquired after him. They returned and sought God earnestly.
Tunggal parigaten ida ti Dios, rugianda a biroken isuna, ket agsublida ken sipapasnekda a mangsapul kenkuana.
35 They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God, their redeemer.
Lagipenda a ti Dios ti dakkel a batoda ken ti Kangangatoan a Dios ti mangis-ispal kadakuada.
36 But they flattered him with their mouth, and lied to him with their tongue.
Ngem pasabluganda isuna ken agulbodda kenkuana kadagiti sasaoda.
37 For their heart was not right with him, neither were they faithful in his covenant.
Ta dagiti pusoda ket saan a nagtalinaed a sipupudno kenkuana ken saanda a napudno iti tulagna.
38 But he, being merciful, forgave iniquity, and did not destroy them. Yes, many times he turned his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.
Ngem iti kinamanangngaasina, pinakawanna dagiti nagbasolda ket saanna a dinadael ida. Wen, adu a daras a linapdanna ti ungetna ken tineppelanna amin ti pungtotna.
39 He remembered that they were but flesh, a wind that passes away, and doesn't come again.
Nalagipna a naaramidda iti lasag, kasla angin a lumabas ken saanen nga agsubli.
40 How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness, and grieved him in the desert.
Namin-ano a daras a nagsukirda kenkuana idiay let-ang ken pinagladingitda isuna kadagiti langalang a rehion.
41 They turned again and tempted God, and gave pain to the Holy One of Israel.
Masansan a kinaritda ti Dios ken pinabainanda ti Nasantoan ti Israel.
42 They did not remember his hand, nor the day when he redeemed them from the adversary;
Saanda a pinanunot maipapan iti pannakabalinna, no kasano ti panangispalna kadakuada manipud iti kabusor
43 how he set his signs in Egypt, his wonders in the field of Zoan,
idi inaramidna dagiti nakabutbuteng a pagilasinan idiay Egipto ken dagiti nakakaskasdaaw nga inaramidna iti rehion ti Soan.
44 he turned their rivers into blood, and their streams, so that they could not drink.
Pinagbalinna a dara dagiti karayan dagiti Egipcio tapno saanda a makainom kadagiti waigda.
45 He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.
Nangibaon isuna kadagiti pangen dagiti ngilaw a nangalun-on kadakuada ken dagiti tukak a nagwaras iti dagada.
46 He gave also their increase to the caterpillar, and their labor to the locust.
Intedna kadagiti arabas dagiti mulada ken dagiti nagbannoganda kadagiti dudon.
47 He destroyed their vines with hail, their sycamore fig trees with frost.
Dinadaelna dagiti ubasda babaen iti uraro ken dagiti kayoda a sikamoro babaen iti ad-adu pay a uraro.
48 He gave over their livestock also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.
Pinagtudona iti uraro kadagiti bakada ken kinimatna dagiti dingwenda.
49 He threw on them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, indignation, and trouble, and a band of destroying angels.
Bimtak ti kinarungsot ti ungetna kadakuada. Nangiyeg iti pungtot, rungsot ken riribuk a kasla dagiti bunggoy a mangiyeg iti didigra.
50 He made a path for his anger. He did not spare their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence,
Nangisimpa isuna iti dalan ti pungtotna; saanna nga inkaluya ida iti pakatayanda ngem inyawatna ida iti didigra.
51 and struck all the firstborn in Egypt, the chief of their strength in the tents of Ham.
Pinapatayna amin dagiti inauna nga anak iti Egipto, ti inauna nga anak ti pigsada kadagiti tolda ni Ham.
52 But he led forth his own people like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.
Indauloanna a rimmuar dagiti tattaona a kasla karnero ken kasla arban nga indalanna ida a limmasat iti let-ang.
53 He led them safely, so that they weren't afraid, but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
Indauloanna ida a sitatalged ken awan nagbutnganda, ngem linapunos ti baybay dagiti kabusorda.
54 He brought them to the border of his sanctuary, to this mountain, which his right hand had taken.
Ket impanna ida iti nagbeddengan iti nasantoan a dagana, iti daytoy a bantay a nagun-od ti makannawan nga imana.
55 He also drove out the nations before them, allotted them for an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
Pinapanawna dagiti nasion manipud iti sangoananda ken intedna kadakuada dagiti tawidda; pinagnaedna dagiti tribu ti Israel kadagiti toldada.
56 Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God, and did not keep his testimonies;
Nupay kasta, kinaritda ken sinukirda ti Kangatoan a Dios ken saanda a sinalimetmetan dagiti bilinna.
57 but turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers. They were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
Saanda a napudno ken manangallilawda a kasla kadagiti ammada; saanda a mapagnamnamaan a kas iti bai nga adda perdina.
58 For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their engraved images.
Ta pinagpungtotda isuna gapu kadagiti pagano nga altarda ken pinagimonda isuna gapu kadagiti didiosenda.
59 When God heard this, he was angry, and greatly abhorred Israel;
Idi nangngeg ti Dios daytoy, nakaunget isuna ket inlaksidna a naminpinsan ti Israel.
60 So that he forsook the tabernacle at Shiloh, the tent where he dwelt among men;
Binaybay-anna ti tabernakulo iti Silo, ti tolda a nagnaedanna iti sidong dagiti tattao.
61 and delivered his strength into captivity, his glory into the adversary's hand.
Impalubosna a masamsam ti pigsana ken intedna ti dayagna kadagiti ima ti kabusorna.
62 He also gave his people over to the sword, and was angry with his inheritance.
Inyawatna dagiti tattaona iti kampilan ken nakaunget kadagiti tawidna.
63 Fire devoured their young men. Their virgins had no wedding song.
Inalun-on ti apuy dagiti agtutubo a lallaki ken dagiti agtutubo a babbaida ket awan ti kantada iti panagbuda.
64 Their priests fell by the sword, and their widows couldn't weep.
Natay dagiti padida babaen ti kampilan ket saan a makadung-aw dagiti baloda.
65 Then the Lord awakened as one out of sleep, like a mighty man who shouts by reason of wine.
Ket nakariing ti Apo a kasla nakaturog, a kasla mannakigubat nga agpukpukkaw gapu ti arak.
66 He struck his adversaries backward. He made them a permanent shame.
Pinagsanudna dagiti kabusorna, ket inkabilna ida iti agnanayon a pannakaibabain.
67 Moreover he rejected the tent of Joseph, and did not choose the tribe of Ephraim,
Linaksidna ti tolda ni Jose, ken saanna a pinili ti tribu ni Efraim.
68 But chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion which he loved.
Pinilina ti tribu ni Juda ken ti bantay Sion nga inay-ayatna.
69 He built his sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which he has established forever.
Pinatakderna ti sanctuariona a a kasla kadagiti langlangit, a kasla iti daga nga impasdekna iti agnanayon.
70 He also chose David his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds;
Pinilina ni David, nga adipenna, ket innalana isuna manipud iti pagap-apunan dagiti karnero.
71 from following the ewes that have their young, he brought him to be the shepherd of Jacob his servant, and Israel his inheritance.
Innalana isuna manipud iti panangsursurotna kadagiti kabaian a karnero nga addaan ti urbon ken inyegna isuna tapno agbalin a pastor ni Jacob, dagiti tattaona ken iti Israel a tawidna.
72 So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.
Impastoran ida ni David nga addaan kinapudno iti pusona ken indalanna ida babaen iti kinalaing dagiti imana.
