< Psalms 60 >

1 [For the Chief Musician. To the tune of "The Lily of the Covenant." A teaching poem by David, when he fought with Aram Naharaim and with Aram Zobah, and Joab returned, and killed twelve thousand of Edom in the Valley of Salt.] God, you have rejected us. You have broken us down. You have been angry. Restore us, again.
Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he Susani-Etuta, ko e Saame mahuʻinga ʻa Tevita, ke ako ʻaki; ʻi heʻene tauʻi ʻa ʻElama-Nahalaimi mo ʻElama-Sopa, pea liu mai ʻa Soape, ʻo ne tāmateʻi ʻi he luo ʻoe māsima ʻae tokotaha mano ma toko ua afe ʻoe kakai ʻItomi. ‌ʻE ʻOtua, kuo ke liʻaki ʻakimautolu; kuo ke veteki ʻakimautolu; naʻa ke houhau; ke ke toe tafoki mai kiate kimautolu.
2 You have made the land tremble. You have torn it. Mend its fractures, for it quakes.
Kuo ke lulu ʻae fonua ke tetetete; kuo mafahifahi ia: ke ke fakalelei hono ngaahi maumau; he ʻoku ngalulu ia.
3 You have shown your people hard things. You have made us drink the wine that makes us stagger.
Kuo ke fakahā ʻae ngaahi meʻa faingataʻa ki hoʻo kakai; kuo ke fakainu ʻaki ʻakimautolu ʻae uaine fakaofo.
4 You have given a banner to those who fear you, that it may be displayed because of the truth. (Selah)
Kuo ke foaki ʻae fuka kiate kinautolu naʻe manavahē kiate koe, ke fakahā ia koeʻuhi ko e moʻoni. (Sila)
5 So that your beloved may be delivered, save with your right hand and answer me.
Koeʻuhi ke hao ʻaia ʻoku ke ʻofa ai; ke ke fakamoʻui ʻaki ho nima toʻomataʻu, ʻo fanongo kiate au.
6 God has spoken from his sanctuary: "I will triumph. I will divide Shechem, and measure out the Valley of Succoth.
Kuo folofola ʻae ʻOtua ʻi heʻene māʻoniʻoni; “Te u fiefia, te u vaeua ʻa Sikemi, ʻo fuofua ʻae luo ʻo Sukote.
7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is the defense of my head. Judah is my scepter.
‌ʻOku ʻoʻoku ʻa Kiliati, pea ʻoʻoku mo Manase; ko e mālohi foki ʻo hoku ʻulu ʻa ʻIfalemi; ko ʻeku fai fono ʻa Siuta;
8 Moab is my wash basin. I will throw my shoe on Edom. I shout in triumph over Philistia."
Ko ʻeku ipu kaukauʻanga ʻa Moape; te u lī hoku topuvaʻe ki ʻolunga ki ʻItomi: Filisitia, ke ke vikiviki koe koeʻuhi ko au.”
9 Who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me to Edom?
Ko hai te ne ʻomi au ki he kolo mālohi? Ko hai te ne aʻutaki au ki ʻItomi?
10 Haven't you, God, rejected us? You do not go out with our armies, God.
‌ʻE ʻOtua, ʻe ʻikai te ke fai ia, ʻa koe kuo ke liʻaki ʻakimautolu? ʻA koe, ʻE ʻOtua, naʻe ʻikai te ke ʻalu mo ʻemau ngaahi kautau?
11 Give us help against the adversary, for the help of man is vain.
Ke ke tuku kiate kimautolu ʻae tokoni mei he mamahi: he ʻoku taʻeʻaonga ʻae tokoni ʻae tangata.
12 Through God we shall do valiantly, for it is he who will tread down our adversaries.
Ko e meʻa ʻi he ʻOtua te tau fai mālohi ai: he ko ia ia te ne malaki hifo hotau ngaahi fili.
