< Psalms 52 >
1 [For the Chief Musician. A contemplation by David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, "David has come to Abimelech's house."] Why do you boast of mischief, mighty man? God's loving kindness endures continually.
Ki he Takimuʻa, ko e Saame akonaki ʻa Tevita, ʻi he haʻu ʻa Toeki ko e tangata ʻItomi, ʻo tala kia Saula, ʻo ne pehē kiate ia, kuo haʻu ʻa Tevita ki he fale ʻo ʻAhimeleki. ʻAe tangata mālohi, ko e hā ʻoku ke polepole ai koe ʻi he fai pauʻu? ʻoku tolonga maʻuaipē ʻae ʻaloʻofa ʻae ʻOtua.
2 Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
ʻOku langaʻi ʻe ho ʻelelo ʻae ngaahi meʻa kovi; ʻo ne fai kākā, ʻo hangē ko e tele māsila.
3 You love evil more than good, lying rather than speaking the truth. (Selah)
ʻOku ke ʻofa lahi ki he kovi ʻi he lelei; pea ki he loi ʻi he lea māʻoniʻoni. (Sila)
4 You love all devouring words, you deceitful tongue.
ʻAe ʻelelo kākā, ʻoku ke manako ki he ngaahi lea fakaʻauha.
5 God will likewise destroy you forever. He will take you up, and pluck you out of your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. (Selah)
Pea ʻe fakaʻauha foki koe ʻe he ʻOtua ʻo taʻengata, te ne toʻo ʻo ʻave koe, pea taʻaki koe mei ho nofoʻanga, ʻo taʻaki fuʻu hake koe mei he fonua ʻoe moʻui. (Sila)
6 The righteous also will see it, and fear, and laugh at him, saying,
ʻE mamata foki ki ai ʻae kakai māʻoniʻoni, pea manavahē, pea nau kata manuki kiate ia:
7 "Look, this is the man who did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and was confident in his desire."
“Vakai, ko eni ʻae tangata naʻe ʻikai maʻu ʻae mālohi mei he ʻOtua; ka naʻe falala ki he lahi ʻo ʻene koloa, ʻo ne fakamālohi ia ʻi heʻene kovi.”
8 But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God's house. I trust in God's loving kindness forever and ever.
Ka ʻoku ou tatau mo e ʻolive laumaʻuiʻui ʻi he fale ʻoe ʻOtua: ʻoku ou falala ki he ʻaloʻofa ʻae ʻOtua ʻo taʻengata pea taʻengata.
9 I will give you thanks forever, because you have done it. I will hope in your name, for it is good, in the presence of your faithful ones.
Te u fakamālō kiate koe ʻo taʻengata, koeʻuhi kuo ke fai ia ʻe koe: pea te u tatali ki ho huafa; he ʻoku lelei ia ʻi he ʻao ʻo ho kakai māʻoniʻoni.
