< Psalms 4 >

1 [For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. A Psalm by David.] Answer me when I call, God of my righteousness. You set me free in my distress. Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.
Ya mukulu wa Bayimbi. Eyimbibwa n’ebivuga eby’enkoba. Zabbuli ya Dawudi. Bwe nkukoowoola onnyanukule, Ayi Katonda wange omutuukirivu. Bwe mba mu nnaku, onnyambe. Onkwatirwe ekisa owulire okusaba kwange.
2 You sons of man, how long will you shame my honor, love what is worthless, chase after a lie? (Selah)
Mmwe abaana b’abantu, mulituusa wa okuswazanga ekitiibwa kyange? Mulituusa ddi okugoberera okwagala ebitaliimu, n’okunoonya eby’obulimba?
3 But know that YHWH works wonders for his godly one; YHWH will hear when I call to him.
Naye mutegeere nga Mukama yeerondeddemu abo abamugondera. Bwe nnaamukoowoolanga anampuliranga era anannyanukulanga.
4 Be angry, but do not sin. Ponder in your heart, but be at rest on your bed. (Selah)
Ne bwe munyiiga ennyo, temusaana kwonoona; musiriikirire, mwekebere era mufumiitirize mu mitima gyammwe nga mugalamidde ku bitanda byammwe.
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in YHWH.
Muweeyo ebiweebwayo ebisaanidde; era mwesigenga Mukama.
6 Many say, "Who will show us any good?" YHWH, lift up the light of your face upon us.
Waliwo bangi abasaba nti, “Oyongere okutulaga ebirungi, Ayi Mukama, otumulisize omusana gw’amaaso go.”
7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than when their grain and wine and oil abound.
Ondeetedde essanyu lingi mu mutima gwange erisinga ne lye bafuna mu makungula nga batunuulira ku bibala byabwe ebingi.
8 In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, YHWH alone, make me live in safety.
Nnaagalamira ne nneebaka mirembe; kubanga ggwe wekka, Ayi Mukama, ggwe ondabirira akabi ne katantuukako.
