< Psalms 137 >
1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down. Yes, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
E bath aore mag Babulon ne wabet piny kendo ne waywak kane waparo Sayun.
2 On the willows in its midst, we hung up our harps.
Ne wangʼawo thumbewa ewi omburi mane ni kanyo,
3 For there, those who led us captive asked us for songs. Those who tormented us demanded songs of joy: "Sing us one of the songs of Zion."
nimar joma ne omakowa nokwayowa wende kane wan kanyo, joma nesandowa nochunowa ni wawernegi wende mor; negiwachonwa niya, “Wernwauru achiel kuom wende Sayun!”
4 How can we sing YHWH's song in a foreign land?
Ere kaka wanyalo wero wende Jehova Nyasaye kapod wan e piny ma wendo?
5 If I forget you, Jerusalem, let my right hand be forgotten.
Ka dipo ni wiya owil kodi, yaye Jerusalem, to mad lweta ma korachwich wiye wil gi tichne.
6 Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you; if I do not prefer Jerusalem above my chief joy.
Mad lewa moki e danda ka dipo ni ok apari, ka dipo ni ok aketo chunya kuomi, yaye Jerusalem, morna maduongʼ mogik.
7 Remember, YHWH, against the descendants of Edom, the day of Jerusalem; who said, "Raze it. Raze it even to its foundation."
Parie gima ne jo-Edom otimo, yaye Jehova Nyasaye, parie gima negitimo chiengʼ mane Jerusalem opodho. Ne gikok matek niya, “Mukeuru ogoye piny. Mukeuru ogore piny gi mise mare duto!”
8 Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, he will be blessed who rewards you, as you have served us.
Yaye nyar Babulon, in mochanni kethruok, ngʼama nochuli kuom gima isetimonwa en jahawi,
9 Blessed shall he be who takes and dashes your little ones against the rock.
ngʼat manomak nyithindi mayom mi gogi piny e lwendni en jahawi.
