< Psalms 124 >

1 [A Song of Ascents. By David.] If it had not been YHWH who was on our side, let Israel now say,
Salimo la Davide. Nyimbo yoyimba pokwera ku Yerusalemu. Akanapanda kukhala mbali yathu Yehova, anene tsono Israeli,
2 if it had not been YHWH who was on our side, when men rose up against us;
akanapanda kukhala mbali yathu Yehova, potiwukira anthuwo,
3 then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;
iwo atatipsera mtima, akanatimeza amoyo;
4 then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul;
chigumula chikanatimiza, mtsinje ukanatikokolola,
5 then the proud waters would have gone over our soul.
madzi a mkokomo akanatikokolola.
6 Blessed be YHWH, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.
Atamandike Yehova, amene sanalole kuti tikhale chakudya cha mano awo.
7 Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler's snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped.
Moyo wathu wawonjoka ngati mbalame yokodwa mu msampha wa mlenje; msampha wathyoka, ndipo ife tapulumuka.
8 Our help is in the name of YHWH, who made heaven and earth.
Thandizo lathu lili mʼdzina la Yehova wolenga kumwamba ndi dziko lapansi.
