< Psalms 112 >

1 Praise JAH. Blessed is the man who fears YHWH, who delights greatly in his commandments.
Praise Yahweh! (Happy are/He is pleased with) those who revere him, those who happily obey his commands.
2 His descendants will be mighty in the land. The generation of the upright will be blessed.
Their children will prosper in their land; and their descendants will be blessed [by God].
3 Wealth and riches are in his house. His righteousness endures forever.
Their families [MTY] will be very wealthy [DOU], and [the results of] their righteous deeds will endure forever.
4 Light dawns in the darkness for the upright, gracious, merciful, and righteous.
Godly/Righteous people are [like] lights [SIM] that shine in the darkness on those who are kind, merciful and righteous.
5 It is well with the man who deals graciously and lends. He will maintain his cause in judgment.
Things [will] go well for those who generously lend money to others and who conduct their businesses honestly.
6 For he will never be shaken. The righteous will be remembered forever.
Righteous people will not be overwhelmed/worried/distressed [because of their troubles], and they will never be forgotten [by other people].
7 He will not be afraid of evil news. His heart is steadfast, trusting in YHWH.
They are not afraid of [receiving] bad news; they confidently/completely trust in Yahweh.
8 His heart is secure, he has no fears; in the end he will look in triumph on his adversaries.
They are confident and not afraid, because they know that they will see [God defeat] their enemies.
9 He has scattered, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. His horn will be exalted with honor.
They give things generously to poor/needy [people]; [the results of] their kind deeds will endure forever, and they [will] be exalted and honored.
10 The wicked will see it, and be grieved. He shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away. The desire of the wicked will perish.
Wicked people see those things and are angry; they gnash their teeth [angrily], but they [will] disappear [and die]. The [wicked] things that they want to do [will] never happen.
