Proverbs 30
1 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, the oracle: the man says to Ithiel, to Ithiel and Ucal:

2 "Surely I am the most ignorant man, and do not have a man's understanding.

3 I have not learned wisdom, neither do I have the knowledge of the Holy One.
No he aprendido la sabiduría, ni tengo el conocimiento del Santo.
4 Who has ascended up into heaven, and descended? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has bound the waters in his garment? Who has established every part of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name, if you know?
¿Quién subió al cielo y descendió? ¿Quién ha recogido el viento en sus puños? ¿Quién ha atado las aguas en su manto? ¿Quién ha establecido todos los confines de la tierra? ¿Cómo se llama y cómo se llama su hijo, si lo sabe?
5 "Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
“Toda palabra de Dios es impecable. Es un escudo para los que se refugian en él.
6 Do not add to his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar.
No añadas nada a sus palabras, para que no te reprenda y te encuentre mentiroso.
7 "Two things I have asked of you; do not deny me before I die:
“Dos cosas te he pedido. No me niegues antes de morir.
8 Remove far from me falsehood and lies. Give me neither poverty nor riches. Feed me with the food that is needful for me;
Aleja de mí la falsedad y la mentira. No me des ni pobreza ni riqueza. Aliméntame con el alimento que me es necesario,
9 lest I be full, deny you, and say, 'Who is YHWH?' or lest I be poor, and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.
no sea que me llene, te niegue y diga: “¿Quién es Yahvé? o para que no sea pobre y robe, y así deshonrar el nombre de mi Dios.
10 "Do not slander a servant to his master, lest he curse you, and you be held guilty.
“No calumnies al siervo ante su amo, para que no te maldiga y seas considerado culpable.
11 There is a generation that curses their father, and doesn't bless their mother.
Hay una generación que maldice a su padre, y no bendice a su madre.
12 There is a generation that is pure in their own eyes, yet are not washed from their filthiness.
Hay una generación que es pura a sus propios ojos, pero no se han lavado de su suciedad.
13 There is a generation, oh how lofty are their eyes. Their eyelids are lifted up.
Hay una generación, ¡oh, qué elevados son sus ojos! Sus párpados se levantan.
14 There is a generation whose teeth are like swords, and their jaws like knives, to devour the poor from the earth, and the needy from among men.
Hay una generación cuyos dientes son como espadas, y sus mandíbulas como cuchillos, para devorar a los pobres de la tierra, y a los necesitados de entre los hombres.
15 "The leach has two daughters: 'Give, give.' "There are three things that are never satisfied; four that do not say, 'Enough:'
“La sanguijuela tiene dos hijas: ‘Da, da’. “Hay tres cosas que nunca se satisfacen; cuatro que no dicen: “¡Basta!”:
16 Sheol, the barren womb; the earth that is not satisfied with water; and the fire that doesn't say, 'Enough.' (Sheol h7585)
Sheol, el vientre estéril, la tierra que no se conforma con el agua, y el fuego que no dice: “¡Basta! (Sheol h7585)
17 "The eye that mocks at his father, and scorns obedience to his mother: the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, the young eagles shall eat it.
“El ojo que se burla de su padre, y desprecia la obediencia a su madre, los cuervos del valle lo recogerán, las águilas jóvenes lo comerán.
18 "There are three things which are too amazing for me, four which I do not understand:
“Hay tres cosas que son demasiado sorprendentes para mí, cuatro que no entiendo:
19 The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent on a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maiden.
El camino del águila en el aire, el camino de una serpiente sobre una roca, el camino de un barco en medio del mar, y el camino de un hombre con una doncella.
20 "So is the way of an adulterous woman: she eats and wipes her mouth, and says, 'I have done nothing wrong.'
“Así es el camino de la mujer adúltera: Come y se limpia la boca, y dice: “No he hecho nada malo”.
21 "For three things the earth tremble, and under four, it can't bear up:
“Por tres cosas tiembla la tierra, y menos de cuatro, no puede soportar:
22 For a servant when he is king; a fool when he is filled with food;
Para un siervo cuando es rey, un tonto cuando está lleno de comida,
23 for an unloved woman when she is married; and a handmaid who is heir to her mistress.
para una mujer sin amor cuando está casada, y una sirvienta que es heredera de su señora.
24 "There are four things which are little on the earth, but they are exceedingly wise:
“Hay cuatro cosas que son pequeñas en la tierra, pero son sumamente sabios:
25 the ants are not a strong people, yet they provide their food in the summer.
Las hormigas no son un pueblo fuerte, sin embargo, proporcionan su alimento en el verano.
26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks.
Los huracanes no son más que un pueblo débil, pero hacen sus casas en las rocas.
27 The locusts have no king, yet they advance in ranks.

28 You can catch a lizard with your hands, yet it is in kings' palaces.

29 "There are three things which are stately in their march, four which are stately in going:

30 The lion, which is mightiest among animals, and doesn't turn away for any;

32 "If you have done foolishly in lifting up yourself, or if you have thought evil, put your hand over your mouth.
“Si has hecho una tontería al alzarte, o si has pensado mal, pon tu mano sobre tu boca.
33 For as the churning of milk brings forth butter, and the wringing of the nose brings forth blood; so the forcing of wrath brings forth strife."
Pues como el batido de la leche produce mantequilla, y el retorcimiento de la nariz produce sangre, por lo que el forzamiento de la ira produce contienda”.
