Matthew 8
1 And when he came down from the mountain, large crowds followed him.
Mikor lejött a hegyről, nagy sokaság követte őt,
2 And look, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean."
És íme, odajött egy bélpoklos, leborult előtte, és mondta: „Uram, ha akarod, megtisztíthatsz engem.“
3 And he stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I am willing. Be cleansed." And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
Jézus kinyújtotta kezét, megérintette, és ezt mondta: „Akarom, tisztulj meg.“És azonnal eltisztult annak poklossága.
4 And Jesus said to him, "See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."
Ekkor ezt mondta neki Jézus: „Vigyázz, senkinek se szólj. Hanem eredj, mutasd meg magadat a papnak, és vidd fel az ajándékot, amelyet Mózes rendelt, bizonyságul nekik.“
5 And when he came into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking him,
Mikor pedig bement Jézus Kapernaumba, egy százados ment hozzá, és kérte őt.
6 and saying, "Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented."
Ezt mondta: „Uram, a szolgám otthon gutaütötten fekszik, és nagy kínokat szenved.“
7 And he said to him, "I will come and heal him."
Ezt mondta neki Jézus: „Elmegyek, és meggyógyítom.“
8 And the centurion answered, "Lord, I'm not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
De a százados ezt felelte neki: „Uram, nem vagyok méltó, hogy az én hajlékomba jöjj, hanem csak szólj egy szót, és meggyógyul az én szolgám.
9 For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and tell another, 'Come,' and he comes; and tell my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
Mert én is hatalom alá rendelt ember vagyok, és vannak alattam vitézek, és ha azt mondom egyiknek: Eredj el, elmegy; és a másiknak: Gyere ide, odajön; és a szolgámnak: Tedd ezt, megteszi.“
10 And when Jesus heard it, he was amazed, and said to those who followed, "Truly I tell you, I have not found so great a faith with anyone in Israel.
Jézus pedig amikor ezt meghallotta, elcsodálkozott, és ezt mondta az őt követőknek: „Bizony mondom néktek, még Izraelben sem találtam ilyen nagy hitet.
11 And I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,
De mondom nektek, sokan jönnek majd napkeletről és napnyugatról, letelepednek Ábrahámmal, Izsákkal és Jákóbbal a mennyeknek országában;
12 but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and grinding of teeth."
az ország fiait pedig kivetik a külső sötétségre, ahol lesz majd sírás és fogcsikorgatás.“
13 And Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed." And the servant was healed in that hour.
És Jézus ezt mondta a századosnak: „Eredj el, és legyen néked a te hited szerint.“És meggyógyult annak szolgája, abban az órában.
14 And when Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever.
Amikor bement Jézus Péter házába, és látta, hogy annak anyósa fekszik és lázas,
15 So he touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and served him.
rátette kezét, és elhagyta őt a láz, fölkelt, és szolgált nekik.
16 And when evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick;
Az est beálltával pedig kivittek hozzá sok ördöngöst, és egy szóval kiűzte a tisztátalan lelkeket, és meggyógyított minden beteget;
17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, "He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases."
hogy beteljesedjék, amit Ézsaiás próféta mondott így szólván: „Ő vette el a mi erőtlenségünket, és ő hordozta el a mi betegségünket.“
18 Now when Jesus saw large crowds around him, he gave the order to depart to the other side.
Látván pedig Jézus a nagy sokaságot maga körül, megparancsolta, hogy menjenek át a túlsó partra.
19 Then a scribe came, and said to him, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go."
Hozzámenve egy írástudó, ezt mondta neki: „Mester, követlek téged, akárhová mégy.“
20 And Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head."
Jézus pedig így válaszolt: „A rókáknak van barlangjuk, és az égi madaraknak fészkük, de az Emberfiának nincs hová fejét lehajtania.“
21 And another of the disciples said to him, "Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father."
Egy másik a tanítványai közül ezt mondta neki: „Uram, engedd meg, hogy előbb elmenjek, és eltemessem atyámat.“
22 But Jesus said to him, "Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead."
Jézus pedig ezt mondta neki: „Kövess engem, és hagyd, hogy a halottak temessék el halottaikat.“
23 And when he got into a boat, his disciples followed him.
Amikor hajóra szállt, követték őt tanítványai.
24 And look, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep.
És íme, nagy vihar támadt a tengeren, annyira, hogy a hajót elborították a hullámok, ő pedig aludt.
25 They came to him, and woke him up, saying, "Save us, Lord. We are dying."
Tanítványai pedig odamentek hozzá, felköltötték, és ezt mondták: „Uram, ments meg minket, mert elveszünk.“
26 And he said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.
De ő ezt mondta nekik: „Mit féltek, ó, kicsinyhitűek?“Ekkor fölkelt, megdorgálta a szeleket és a tengert, és nagy csendesség lett.
27 And the men were amazed, saying, "What kind of person is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"
Az emberek pedig elcsodálkoztak, és mondták: „Kicsoda ez, hogy mind a szelek, mind a tenger engedelmeskedik neki?“
28 And when he came to the other side, into the country of the Gadarenes, two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way.
Amikor eljutottak a túlsó partra, a gadaraiak tartományába, két ördöngös ment eléje, akik a sírboltokból kijőve igen kegyetlenkedtek, annyira, hogy senki sem mert azon az úton járni.
29 And look, they shouted, saying, "What do we have to do with you, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?"
Kiáltoztak, és ezt mondták: „Mi közünk hozzád, Jézus, Istennek Fia? Azért jöttél ide, hogy idő előtt meggyötörj minket?“
30 Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them.
Tőlük távol pedig egy nagy disznónyáj legelészett.
31 And the demons begged him, saying, "If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs."
Az ördögök pedig kérték őt, és ezt mondták: „Ha kiűzöl minket, engedd meg, hogy abba a disznónyájba mehessünk!“
32 And he said to them, "Go." And they came out, and went into the pigs, and look, the whole herd rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water.
Ő pedig ezt mondta nekik: „Menjetek!“Azok pedig kimenve, belementek a disznónyájba. És íme, az egész disznónyáj a meredekről a tengerbe rohant, és odaveszett a vízbe.
33 And those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons.
A pásztorok pedig elfutottak, bementek a városba, és hírül adtak mindent, azt is, ami az ördöngösökkel történt.
34 And look, all the city came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.
Íme, az egész város kiment Jézus elé, és mihelyst meglátták, kérték őt, hogy távozzék az ő határukból.
