Matthew 3
1 And in those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea
೧ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾನಿಕನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನನೆಂಬುವವನು ಯೂದಾಯದ ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೋಧನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ,
2 and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."
೨ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಡಿರಿ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಸಮೀಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.”
3 For this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, "The voice of one who calls out in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the Lord. Make his roads straight.'"
೩“‘ಕರ್ತನ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿರಿ; ಆತನ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಸರಾಗ ಮಾಡಿರಿ’ ಎಂದು ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಗುವವನ ಶಬ್ದವಿದೆ” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆಶಾಯನಿಂದ ಸೂಚಿತನಾದವನು ಇವನೇ.
4 Now John himself wore clothing made of camel's hair and with a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey.
೪ಯೋಹಾನನ ಉಡುಪು ಒಂಟೆಯ ಕೂದಲಿನಿಂದ ಮಾಡಿತ್ತು, ಅವನು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಚರ್ಮದ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಮಿಡತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಡುಜೇನು ಅವನ ಆಹಾರವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
5 Then people from Jerusalem, all of Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him,
೫ಆಗ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರು, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯೂದಾಯದವರೂ ಮತ್ತು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ಹೊಳೆಯ ಸುತ್ತಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೀಮೆಯ ಜನರು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದು,
6 and they were baptized by him in the Jordan river, confessing their sins.
೬ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ಹೊಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಹಾನನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for his baptism he said to them, "You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
೭ಆದರೆ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಫರಿಸಾಯರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸದ್ದುಕಾಯರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅನೇಕರು ತನ್ನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಎಲೈ ಸರ್ಪಸಂತತಿಯವರೇ, ಮುಂದೆ ಬರಲಿರುವ ದೈವಕೋಪದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದವರಾರು?
8 Therefore bring forth fruit worthy of repentance,
೮ನೀವು ಮಾನಸಾಂತರ ಹೊಂದಿರುವಿರಿ ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದ ಫಲವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿರಿ.
9 and do not think to yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our father,' for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
೯ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ. ದೇವರು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗಾಗಿ ಈ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಮಾಡಬಲ್ಲನೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
10 "Even now the axe lies at the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree that does not bring forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.
೧೦ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಮರಗಳ ಬೇರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದೆ; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಕೊಡದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮರವನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕುವರು.
11 I indeed baptize you in water for repentance, but the one who comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and with fire.
೧೧ನಾನಂತೂ ಮಾನಸಾಂತರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ನಂತರ ಬರುವವನು ನನಗಿಂತ ಶಕ್ತನು; ಆತನ ಪಾದರಕ್ಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಲಿಕ್ಕೂ ನಾನು ಯೋಗ್ಯನಲ್ಲ; ಆತನು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನಮಾಡಿಸುವನು.
12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor. He will gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire."
೧೨ಹೊಟ್ಟನು ತೂರುವ ಮೊರವನ್ನು ಆತನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ತನ್ನ ಕಣದಲ್ಲಿಯ ರಾಶಿಯನ್ನು ತೂರಿ ಹಸನು ಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ಗೋದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಣಜದಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೊಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಆರದ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟು ಬಿಡುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him.
೧೩ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸು ಯೋಹಾನನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಗಲಿಲಾಯದಿಂದ ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ಹೊಳೆಯ ಬಳಿ ಬಂದನು.
14 But John would have hindered him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and you come to me?"
೧೪ಆತನಿಗೆ ಯೋಹಾನನು ತಡೆಯುತ್ತಾ, “ನಾನೇ ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವುದೇಕೆ?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಕ್ಕೆ,
15 But Jesus, answering, said to him, "Allow it to happen now, for this is the proper way for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he allowed him.
೧೫ಯೇಸು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೋ; ಹೀಗೆ ನಾವು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನೀತಿಯನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸತಕ್ಕದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡನು.
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up directly from the water; and look, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming on him.
೧೬ಯೇಸು ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಇಗೋ, ಆತನಿಗಾಗಿ ಪರಲೋಕವು ತೆರೆಯಿತು; ಮತ್ತು ದೇವರ ಆತ್ಮವು ಪಾರಿವಾಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಳಿದು ಬರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು.
17 And look, a voice out of the heavens said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."
೧೭ಆಗ “ಈತನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯ ಮಗನು, ಈತನನ್ನು ನಾನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿದ್ದೇನೆ” ಎಂಬ ವಾಣಿ ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿಬಂದಿತು.
