Matthew 15
1 Then the Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,
Dann traten zu Jesus Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, die aus Jerusalem gekommen waren, und sprachen:
2 "Why do your disciples disobey the Tradition of the Elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread."
"Warum übertreten deine Jünger Vorschriften, die uns die Alten überliefert haben? Sie waschen sich ja vor der Mahlzeit die Hände nicht."
3 And he answered them, "Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?
Er antwortete ihnen: "Warum übertretet ihr denn euern Vorschriften zuliebe Gottes Gebot?
4 For God said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.'
Gott hat doch gesagt: Ehre deinen Vater und deine Mutter! und: wer Vater oder Mutter schmäht, der soll des Todes sterben.
5 But you say, 'Whoever may tell his father or his mother, "Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,"
Ihr aber behauptet: Wer zum Vater oder zur Mutter spricht: 'Ich stifte für den Tempelschatz, was ich dir sonst zum Unterhalt gegeben hätte' — der braucht Vater oder Mutter nicht zu ehren.
6 he is not to honor his father or his mother.' You have made the word of God void because of your tradition.
So setzt ihr eurer Satzung zuliebe Gottes Gesetz außer Kraft.
7 You hypocrites. Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
Ihr Heuchler! Treffend hat Jesaja von euch geweissagt:
8 'These people honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Dies Volk ehrt mich mit den Lippen, aber ihr Herz ist fern von mir.
9 And in vain do they worship me, teaching instructions that are the commandments of humans.'"
Ihr Gottesdienst ist wertlos, denn sie verkünden Lehren, die nichts als Menschensatzung sind."
10 He summoned the crowd, and said to them, "Hear, and understand.
Dann rief er das Volk herbei und sprach zu ihnen: "Hört und versteht es!
11 That which enters into the mouth does not defile the person; but that which proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the person."
Nicht das macht den Menschen unrein, was zum Mund eingeht; sondern was zum Munde ausgeht, das macht den Menschen unrein."
12 Then the disciples came, and said to him, "Do you know that the Pharisees were offended, when they heard this saying?"
Da traten seine Jünger zu ihm und sprachen: "Weißt du, daß die Pharisäer über dein Wort, das sie haben hören müssen, entrüstet gewesen sind?"
13 But he answered, "Every plant which my heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted.
Er antwortete: "Jede Pflanze, die mein himmlischer Vater nicht gepflanzt hat, soll ausgerottet werden.
14 Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit."
Laß sie! Sie sind blinde Blindenführer. Wenn aber ein Blinder den anderen führt, so fallen sie beide in die Grube."
15 And answering, Peter said to him, "Explain this parable to us."
Da nahm Petrus das Wort und sprach zu ihm: "Deute uns dies Gleichnis!"
16 So he said, "Do you also still not understand?
Er erwiderte: "Seid ihr denn auch noch immer so unverständig?
17 Do you not understand that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the belly, and then out of the body?
Seht ihr nicht ein, daß alles, was zum Munde eingeht, in den Magen kommt und dann durch den Darm ausgeschieden wird?
18 But the things which proceed out of the mouth come out of the heart, and they defile the person.
Was aber zum Munde ausgeht, das kommt aus dem Herzen, und das macht den Menschen unrein.
19 For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies.
Denn aus dem Herzen kommen böse Gedanken: Mord, Ehebruch, Unzucht, Diebstahl, falsches Zeugnis und Verleumdung.
20 These are the things which defile the person; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the person."
Hierdurch wird der Mensch verunreinigt. Aber mit ungewaschenen Händen essen, das macht den Menschen nicht unrein."
21 Jesus went out from there, and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.
Dann verließ Jesus jene Gegend und begab sich in das Gebiet von Tyrus und Sidon.
22 And look, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders, and started shouting, saying, "Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David. My daughter is severely demonized."
Und sieh, eine Kananiterin aus jener Landschaft kam zu ihm; die fing an zu rufen: "Herr, Sohn Davids, erbarme dich mein! Meine Tochter wird von einem bösen Geist arg gequält."
23 But he did not answer her a word. His disciples came and pleaded with him, saying, "Send her away, for she keeps shouting at us."
Er aber erwiderte ihr kein einziges Wort. Da traten seine Jünger zu ihm mit der Bitte: "Fertige sie doch ab! Sie schreit ja hinter uns her."
24 But he answered, "I was not sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
Er aber antwortete: "Ich bin nur zu den verirrten Schafen des Hauses Israel gesandt."
25 But she came and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, help me."
Da kam die Frau, fiel ihm zu Füßen und bat: "Herr, hilf mir!"
26 But he answered, "It is not appropriate to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs."
Er aber erwiderte: "Es wäre nicht recht, den Kindern das Brot zu nehmen und es den Hündchen hinzuwerfen."
27 But she said, "Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table."
Sie sprach: "Gewiß, Herr! Denn die Hündchen dürfen ja nur die Brocken fressen, die von ihrer Herren Tische fallen."
28 Then Jesus answered her, "Woman, great is your faith. Be it done to you even as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that hour.
Da antwortete ihr Jesus: "O Weib, dein Glaube ist groß! Dir geschehe, wie du willst." Und zu der Stunde ward ihre Tochter gesund.
29 Jesus departed there, and came near to the sea of Galilee; and he went up into the mountain, and sat there.
Dann verließ Jesus die Gegend und kam an das Ufer des Galiläischen Sees: er ging auf die Berghöhe und blieb dort.
30 Large crowds came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, crippled, and many others, and they put them down at his feet; and he healed them.
Da kamen viele Leute zu ihm; die brachten Lahme, Blinde, Stumme Krüppel und viele andere Kranke und legten sie zu seinen Füßen nieder. Und er heilte sie.
31 So the crowd was amazed when they saw the mute speaking, crippled healthy, lame walking, and blind seeing—and they glorified the God of Israel.
Da wunderten sich die Leute, als sie sahen, wie die Stummen redeten, die Krüppel genasen, die Lahmen gingen und die Blinden sahen. Und sie priesen den Gott Israels.
32 Jesus summoned the disciples and said, "I have compassion on the crowd, because they continue with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away fasting, or they might faint on the way."
Da rief Jesus seine Jünger zu sich und sprach: "Mich jammert der Leute, denn sie sind nun schon drei Tage bei mir und haben nichts mehr zu essen; und hungrig mag ich sie nicht gehen lassen, sonst könnten sie unterwegs ermattet zusammenbrechen."
33 Then the disciples said to him, "Where should we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a crowd?"
Seine Jünger sprachen zu ihm: "Woher sollen wir in dieser unbewohnten Gegend Brot genug bekommen, um so viele Menschen zu sättigen?"
34 Jesus said to them, "How many loaves do you have?" They said, "Seven, and a few small fish."
Jesus fragte sie: Wieviel Brote habt ihr denn?" Sie sprachen: "Sieben und ein paar kleine Fische."
35 He commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground;
Da ließ er die ganze Schar sich auf die Erde lagern.
36 and he took the seven loaves and the fish. He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the crowds.
Dann nahm er die sieben Brote und die Fische, sprach das Dankgebet, brach sie und gab sie den Jüngern, die dann die Leute speisten.
37 They all ate, and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over.
So aßen alle und wurden satt. Die übriggebliebenen Brocken hob man vom Boden auf: sieben kleine Körbe voll.
38 Those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.
Es hatten aber etwa viertausend Mann gegessen, ohne die Frauen und Kinder.
39 Then he sent away the crowds, got into the boat, and came into the borders of Magadan.
Dann ließ er die Menge gehen, stieg in sein Boot und kam in das Gebiet von Magadan.
