< Matthew 11 >
1 And it happened that when Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.
Bangʼ ka Yesu nosetieko tiego jopuonjrene apar gariyo, nodhi nyime koa kanyo mondo opuonj kendo oyal e mier mag Galili.
2 Now when John heard in prison the works of the Christ, he sent his disciples
Kane Johana owinjo ka en od twech gik ma Kristo ne timo, nooro jopuonjrene
3 and said to him, "Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?"
mondo openje niya, “In e jalno mane onego obi, koso warit ngʼat machielo?”
4 And Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
Yesu nodwokogi niya, “Doguru mondo udwok wach ne Johana gik muwinjo kendo uneno:
5 the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
Muofni neno, rongʼonde wuotho, jogo man-gi dhoho ichango, joma itgi odinore winjo wach, joma otho ichiero, kendo Injili iyalo ne joma odhier.
6 And blessed is he who is not offended by me."
En ngʼat mogwedhi jal ma ok chwanyre mabar nikech an.”
7 And as these went their way, Jesus began to say to the crowds concerning John, "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
Kane oyudo jopuonjre Johana wuok mondo odogi, Yesu nochako wuoyo gi oganda kuom Johana kowacho niya, “Angʼo mane udhi mondo une e thim? Ne udhi neno odundu ma yamo tero koso?
8 But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Look, those who wear soft things are in kings' houses.
Ka ok mano to en angʼo mane udhi mondo une? Ne udhi neno ngʼat morwakore gi lewni mabeyo koso? Ooyo, jogo marwakore gi lewni mabeyo iyudo mana e ute ruodhi.
9 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
To kara nudhi mondo une angʼo? Janabi? Ee, awachonu ni ne udhi neno ngʼat moloyo janabi gi duongʼ.
10 This is the one of whom it is written, 'Look, I send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.'
Ma e jal mane ondik kuome niya, “‘Abiro oro jaotena mondo otel e nyimi, obiro losoni yori kapok ibiro.’
11 Truly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Awachonu adier kama: Kuom jogo duto mamon onywolo, onge ngʼama osewuok e dier ji maduongʼ moloyo Johana ja-Batiso; kata kamano ngʼatno matinie moloyo e pinyruodh polo duongʼ moloye.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent are taking it by force.
Chakre ndalo mag Johana ja-Batiso nyaka sani, pinyruodh polo osebedo ka idonje githuon, kendo joma thuondi ema kawe.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
Nimar ndiko mag jonabi gi mag chik nokoro nyaka ndalo Johana.
14 And if you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.
Kendo kaponi uhero mar rwako wachni to ngʼeuru ni en e Elija mane onego obi.
15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
Ngʼat man-gi ite mondo owinji.
16 "But to what should I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions
“En angʼo ma dapimgo tiengʼni? Gichalo nyithindo mobet e chirni kendo maluongo jowetegi kagiwacho niya,
17 and say, 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance. We wailed in mourning, and you did not mourn.'
“Ne wagoyonu asili, to ne ok umiel; bende ne wadengo ka wawero wend tho, to ne ok uywak.
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon.'
Nimar Johana Ja-Batiso nobiro ka ok ochiem kata metho, to giwacho ni, ‘En gi jachien.’
19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' But wisdom is justified by her children."
Wuod Dhano nobiro ka chiemo kendo metho, to uwacho ni, ‘Neyeuru jawuoro kendo jamer mosiep josol osuru gi joricho.’ To rieko ifwenyo adimba kuom timbene.”
20 Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent.
Eka Yesu nochako kwedo mier mane thoth honnige osetimoree, nikech negitamore weyo richo.
21 "Woe to you, Chorazin. Woe to you, Bethsaida. For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
“Mano kaka unune malit un jo-Korazin! Mano kaka unune malit, un jo-Bethsaida! Nimar ka dine honni motimnugi dinetim ne Turo gi Sidon to dine giseweyo richo chon ka girwakore gi lep gugru kendo ka gibukore gi buru.
22 But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
To awachonu ni chiengʼ ngʼado bura weche nobed maberber ne Turo gi Sidon moloyou.
23 And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will be brought down to hell. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until this day. (Hadēs )
To in Kapernaum, bende ibiro tingʼori malo nyaka polo koso? Ooyo, ibiro lwar piny nyaka piny joma otho. Ka dine bed ni honni mane otim e iyi ne otim ei Sodom to dikoro pod entie nyaka kawuono. (Hadēs )
24 But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom, on the day of judgment, than for you."
To awachonu ni chiengʼ ngʼado bura weche nobed maberber ne Sodom moloyou.”
25 At that time, Jesus answered, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to little children.
E sechego Yesu nowacho niya, “Apakoi Wuonwa, Ruodh polo gi piny, nikech isepando gigi ne joma riek gi joma osomo, to isefwenyogi ne nyithindo matindo.
26 Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.
Ee Wuora, nimar mano ema ne berni kotimore.
27 All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
“Wuonwa oseketo gik moko duto e lweta. To onge ngʼama ongʼeyo Wuowi makmana Wuoro kende, bende onge ngʼama ongʼeyo Wuoro makmana Wuowi kaachiel gi joma Wuowi oyiero mondo ofwenynegi.
28 "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
“Biuru ira, un duto mujony kendo motingʼore mapek, mondo amiu yweyo.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.
Kawuru lodina mondo utingʼ kendo puonjreuru kuoma, nimar chunya muol kendo ahora mos, eka unuyud yweyo ne chunyu.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Nimar lodina ok pek kendo misika yot.”
