< Lamentations 3 >
1 I am the man that has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
Abụ m onye hụrụla ahụhụ site na mkpara igwe nke nrubiga oke nke iwe Onyenwe anyị.
2 He has led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.
O sitela nʼihu ya chụpụ m, mee ka m jegharịa nʼọchịchịrị kama nʼìhè.
3 Surely against me he turns his hand again and again all the day.
Nʼezie, ọ tụgharịala aka ya megide m, mgbe mgbe, ogologo ụbọchị niile.
4 My flesh and my skin he has made old; he has broken my bones.
O meela ka akpụkpọ ahụ na anụ ahụ m fịkpọọ, ọ nyajisiela ọkpụkpụ di m nʼahụ.
5 He has built against me, and surrounded me with bitterness and hardship.
O busola m agha, jiri ihe ilu na oke mkpagbu gbaa m gburugburu.
6 He has made me to dwell in dark places, like those that have been long dead.
O meela ka m biri nʼọchịchịrị dịka ndị nwụrụ anwụ kemgbe oge gara aga.
7 He has walled me in, so I can't escape; he has made my chains heavy.
Ọ gbachibidola m ogige, ime ka m ghara ịgbapụ; o jirila ụdọ igwe dị arọ mee ka m ghara ijegharị.
8 Yes, when I cry, and call for help, he shuts out my prayer.
Ọ na-eme ka ekpere m hapụ irute ya, ọ bụladị mgbe m kpọkuru ya ka o nyere m aka.
9 He has walled up my ways with cut stone; he has made my paths crooked.
O jirila nkume a wara awa gbachie ụzọ m niile, o meela ka okporoụzọ m gbagọọ agbagọ.
10 He is to me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in hiding.
Dịka anụ ọhịa bịa nke makpu na-eche nche, na dịka ọdụm nke na-ezo onwe ya,
11 He has obstructed my path, and torn me in pieces; he has made me desolate.
o sitela nʼokporoụzọ dọkpụrụ m dọbisie m ahụ, hapụ m na-enweghị onye inyeaka.
12 He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
Ọ dọọla ụta ya mee m ka m bụrụ onye àkụ ya ga-agbata.
13 He has caused the arrows of his quiver to pierce my inward parts.
O ji àkụ nke si nʼakpa àkụ ya gbapuo m obi.
14 I have become a laughingstock to all peoples, and their song all the day.
Aghọrọ m ihe ọchị nye ndị m niile; ha ji abụ na-akwa m emo ogologo ụbọchị niile.
15 He has filled me with bitterness, he has given me in full measure wormwood.
O meela ka ihe niile na-elu ilu ju m afọ, meekwa ka m ṅụjuo oluilu afọ.
16 He has also broken my teeth with gravel; he has pressed me down in the dust.
O meela ka m jiri okwute tajisie eze m, o kponyekwala m ntụ nʼọnụ m.
17 You have removed my soul far away from peace; I have forgotten what prosperity is.
Enweghị m udo, echezọkwaala m ihe ọganihu bụ.
18 And I said, "My strength and my hope has perished from YHWH."
Nʼihi ya, ana m ekwu, “Ịma mma m ọbụla adịghịkwa. Agaghị m enwetakwa ihe ndị ahụ m lere anya na m ga-esi nʼaka Onyenwe anyị nweta.”
19 Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
20 My soul considers them, and is depressed.
Mgbe m na-echeta ya, obi m na-ada mba nʼime m.
21 But this I call to my mind; therefore I have hope:
Ma ọ dị ihe m na-echeta nʼobi m nke na-eme ka m nwee olileanya.
22 YHWH's faithful love does not cease; his compassion does not fail.
Ọ bụ nʼihi ịhụnanya dị ukwuu nke Onyenwe anyị na-emeghị ka anyị gwụsịa, nʼihi na obi ebere ya adịghị agwụ agwụ.
23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Ha na-adị ọhụrụ ụtụtụ niile; ikwesi ntụkwasị obi gị bụ ihe kwudosiri ike.
24 "YHWH is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him."
25 YHWH is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
26 It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of YHWH.
Ọ bụ ihe dị mma iji nwayọọ chere nzọpụta nke Onyenwe anyị.
27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke while he is young.
Ọ bụ ihe dị mma ka mmadụ buru ibu arọ dịrị ya mgbe ọ bụ okorobịa.
28 Let him sit alone and keep silence when he is disciplining him.
29 Let him put his mouth to the dust, there may yet be hope.
30 Let him give his cheek to him who strikes him; let him be filled with insults.
Ya cheziere onye ahụ chọrọ iti ya ihe ntị ya, ya kwerekwa ka ihe ihere ju ya afọ.
31 For YHWH will not reject forever.
Nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị adịghị ajụ onye ọbụla ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.
32 For though he may cause grief, yet he will have compassion according to the abundance of his loving kindness.
Ọ bụ ezie na ọ na-eme ka mmekpa ahụ bịa, ma ọ na-emesịakwa gosi obi ebere ya, nʼihi na ịhụnanya ya, nke na-adịghị agwụ agwụ, dị ukwuu.
33 For he is not predisposed to bring affliction or suffering to human beings.
34 To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth;

ime ka ikpe ziri ezi ghara irute mmadụ. Ọ bụ na Onyenwe anyị agaghị ahụ ihe ndị a?
37 Who can speak a thing and have it come to pass, unless YHWH has commanded it?
Onye pụrụ ikwu okwu mekwa ka ọ dị ire ma ọ bụrụ na Onyenwe anyị enyeghị iwu ka ọ dị otu ahụ?
38 Doesn't both calamity and good come out of the mouth of the Most High?
39 Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
Gịnị mere mmadụ dị ndụ ga-eji tamuo ntamu mgbe ọ na-ahụ ahụhụ nʼihi mmehie ya?
40 Let us examine and search our ways, and return to YHWH.
Ka anyị nyochaanụ ụzọ anyị nwapụta ya. Ka anyị lọghachikwutenụ Onyenwe anyị.
