< Judges 5 >

1 Then Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam sang on that day, saying,
Da no, Debora ne Abinoam babarima Barak too saa dwom yi:
2 "Because the leaders took the lead in Israel, because the people offered themselves willingly, be blessed, YHWH.
“Israel mpanyimfo sɔre dii anim, na nnipa no de anigye dii wɔn akyi. Nhyira nka Awurade!
3 "Hear, you kings. Give ear, you princes. I, even I, will sing to YHWH. I will sing praise to YHWH, the God of Israel.
“Mo ahemfo, muntie! Monyɛ aso, mo abirɛmpɔn! Na mɛto dwom ama Awurade. Mɛma me nne so ama Awurade, Israel Nyankopɔn.
4 "YHWH, when you went forth out of Seir, when you marched out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, the sky also dropped. Yes, the clouds dropped water.
“Awurade, bere a wufii Seir, na wobɔɔ nsra faa Edom mfuw so no, asase wosowee na ɔsoro omununkum tuee nsu.
5 The mountains quaked at the presence of YHWH, even Sinai, at the presence of YHWH, the God of Israel.
Awurade ba no maa mmepɔw wosowee. Sinai Bepɔw mpo wosowee wɔ Awurade, Israel Nyankopɔn anim.
6 "In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied. The travelers walked through byways.
“Anat ba Samgar ne Yael bere so, nnipa amfa atempɔn so, na akwantufo faa anammɔnkwan kɔntɔnkye so.
7 The rulers ceased in Israel. They ceased until I, Deborah, arose; Until I arose a mother in Israel.
Nnipa kakra na wɔkaa Israel nkuraa kosii sɛ Debora sɔree sɛ ɛna maa Israel.
8 They chose new gods. Then war was in the gates. Was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?
Bere a Israel som anyame foforo no, ɔko sɔree kuropɔn no apon ano. Nanso wɔanhu nkatabo anaa peaw wɔ akofo mpem aduanan a wɔwɔ Israel mu!
9 My heart is toward the leaders of Israel, who offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless YHWH.
Mewɔ Israel ntuanofo afa ne wɔn a wɔde anigye dii wɔn akyi. Hyira Awurade!
10 "Speak, you who ride on white donkeys, you who sit on saddle blankets, and you who walk by the way.
“Mo a motete afurum a wɔte apɔw so, tete nsaa a ɛyɛ fɛ so, muntie! Ne mo a ɛsɛ sɛ monantew fam nso, muntie!
11 Far from the noise of archers, in the places of drawing water, there they will rehearse the righteous acts of YHWH, the righteous acts of his rule in Israel. "Then the people of YHWH went down to the gates.
Muntie nkuraa nnwontofo a wɔaboa wɔn ho ano wɔ anomee. Wɔkeka Awurade trenee nkonimdi, ne ne nkuraasefo nkonimdi wɔ Israel ho asɛm. “Afei Awurade nkurɔfo bɔɔ nsra kɔɔ kuropɔn no apon ano.
12 'Awake, awake, Deborah. Awaken the multitudes of a nation. Awake, awake, sing a song. Be strong. Arise, Barak. And Deborah, strengthen Barak. And lead away your captives, son of Abinoam.'
‘Sɔre! Debora, sɔre! Sɔre, sɔre na to dwom! Sɔre, Barak! Di wo nneduafo anim kɔ, Abinoam ba!’
13 "Then a remnant of the nobles came down. The people of YHWH marched down to me against the mighty.
“Nkaefo no bɔɔ nsra fi Tabor kɔɔ ahoɔdenfo so. Awurade nkurɔfo bɔɔ nsra kɔɔ akofo ahoɔdenfo so.
14 From Ephraim those who uprooted Amalek came out, following you, Benjamin, among your peoples; out of Makir leaders came down, and out of Zebulun those that handle the staff of office.
Wofi Efraim bae, asase a na kan no na ɛyɛ Amalekfo dea, na Benyamin nso dii wʼakyi. Asahene no bɔɔ nsra fii Makir; ɔsahene pemakurafo fi Sebulon bae.
15 And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah. As was Issachar, so was Barak. They rushed into the valley at his feet. By the watercourses of Reuben, there were great resolves of heart.
Na Isakar mu atitiriw ka Debora ne Barak ho. Wodii Barak akyi, bɔ wuraa obon no mu. Nanso Ruben abusuakuw mu de, wɔansi wɔn adwene pi.
16 Why did you sit among the sheepfolds, to hear the piping for the flocks? At the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.
Adɛn nti na wotenaa fie wɔ nguanhwɛfo mu, tie nguanhwɛfo a wɔde hwirema frɛ wɔn nguan? Ruben abusuakuw mu, wɔansi wɔn adwene pi.
17 Gilead lived beyond the Jordan. Why did Dan remain in ships? Asher sat still at the haven of the sea, and lived by his harbors.
Gilead kaa Yordan apuei hɔ. Na Dan de, adɛn nti na ɔtenaa fie? Aser tenaa mpoano a wanka ne ho, ɔkaa nʼahyɛn gyinabea ahorow hɔ.
18 Zebulun was a people that risked their lives even to death; Naphtali also, on the high places of the field.
Nanso Sebulon too ne nkwa apemafo sɛnea Naftali yɛɛ wɔ akono no.
19 The kings came and fought, then the kings of Canaan fought at Taanach by the waters of Megiddo. They took no plunder of silver.
“Kanaan ahemfo koo wɔ Taanak a ɛbɛn Megido asu ho, nanso wɔannya dwetɛ asade biara ankɔ.
20 From the sky the stars fought. From their courses, they fought against Sisera.
Nsoromma fi soro koe. Nsoromma nam wɔn akwan so ko tiaa Sisera.
21 The river Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. My soul, march on with strength.
Asubɔnten Kison twee wɔn kɔe, tete asu, Kison. Me kra, fa akokoduru bɔ nsra kɔ wʼanim!
22 Then the horse hoofs pounded because of the galloping, the galloping of their steeds.
Afei, apɔnkɔ no tɔte pempem fam, wɔde mmirikatɛntɛ, Sisera apɔnkɔ ahoɔdenfo no mmirikatɛntɛ.
23 Curse Meroz, said the angel of YHWH. Curse bitterly its inhabitants, because they did not come to help YHWH, to help YHWH against the mighty.
‘Nnome nka Merosfo,’ Awurade bɔfo na ose. Ma nnome a ano yɛ den nka wɔn efisɛ wɔammɛboa Awurade, wɔammɛboa Awurade anko antia akofo ahoɔdenfo no.
24 Jael shall be blessed above women, the wife of Heber the Kenite; blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
“Nhyira nka Yael, Heber a ofi Keni yere. Ne nhyira nsen mmea a wɔtete ntamadan mu nyinaa.
25 He asked for water. She gave him milk. She brought him curds in a princely bowl.
Sisera srɛɛ nsu, na Yael maa no nufusu. Kuruwa a ɛfata ahemfo no mu na ɔde nufusu ani srade brɛɛ no.
26 She put her hand to the tent peg, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer. She struck Sisera, she pierced his head; she shattered and struck through his temple.
Afei, ɔde ne nsa benkum yii ntamadan pɛe, na ɔde ne nsa nifa faa odwumfo asae. Ɔde bɔɔ Sisera, pɛtɛw ne ti. Ɔde pɛe no wɔɔ ne moma so, bɔɔ so kɔɔ ne tirim.
27 At her feet he collapsed, he fell, he lay. At her feet he collapsed, he fell. Where he collapsed, there he fell down, destroyed.
Ɔmemee, ɔhwee ase; owui wɔ ne nan ase.
28 Through the window she looked out. Sisera's mother cried out through the lattice, 'Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why are the hoofbeats of his chariots delayed?'
“Sisera nena hwɛɛ mfɛnsere mu; ɔtɛw mfɛnsere mu hwɛɛ no kwan, ɔkae se, ‘Adɛn nti na ne teaseɛnam akyɛ ba yi? Adɛn nti na yɛnte teaseɛnam nhankare nnyigyei yi?’
29 Her wise princesses answered her; indeed, she answers herself,
Ne mmea anyansafo no rema mmuae no, otii mu kaa saa nsɛm yi kyerɛɛ ne ho se:
30 'Have they not found, have they not divided the spoil? A womb or two for every man; to Sisera a spoil of dyed garments, A spoil of dyed garments embroidered, Of dyed garments embroidered on both sides, for the neck of the plunderer?'
‘Wɔrekyɛ asade a wonyae no, ɔbarima biara rennya ɔbea baako anaa baanu. Sisera rennya ntade a ɛyɛ fɛ na me nso merennya ntade a ekura ahosu ahorow na wɔanwen mu fɛfɛ?’
31 So let all your enemies perish, YHWH, but let those who love you be as the sun when it rises forth in its strength." And the land had rest forty years.
“Awurade, ma wʼatamfo nyinaa nwu sɛ Sisera! Nanso ma wɔn a wɔdɔ wo no nkɔso sɛ owigyinae.” Afei, asomdwoe baa asase no so mfirihyia aduanan.
