< Judges 4 >

1 The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of YHWH, when Ehud was dead.
Thuutha wa Ehudu gũkua-rĩ, andũ a Isiraeli o rĩngĩ magĩĩka maũndũ mooru maitho-inĩ ma Jehova.
2 YHWH sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth Haggoyim.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Jehova akĩmarekereria moko-inĩ ma Jabini, mũthamaki wa bũrũri wa Kaanani ũrĩa waathanaga kũu Hazoru. Nake mũnene wa mbũtũ ciake cia mbaara eetagwo Sisera, ũrĩa watũũraga kũu Haroshethu-Hagoyimu.
3 The children of Israel cried to YHWH: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
Jabini aarĩ na ngaari cia ita cia igera magana kenda, na nĩahinyĩrĩirie andũ a Isiraeli atarĩ na tha ihinda rĩa mĩaka mĩrongo ĩĩrĩ, nao andũ a Isiraeli magĩkaĩra Jehova amateithie.
4 Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
5 She lived under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
Nake aarĩ na handũ ha gũciirĩra rungu rwa Mũkĩndũ wa Debora, gatagatĩ ka Rama na Betheli kũu bũrũri ũrĩa ũrĩ irĩma wa Efiraimu, nao andũ a Isiraeli maathiiaga harĩ we nĩgeetha amatuithanie maciira.
6 She sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh Naphtali, and said to him, "Hasn't YHWH, the God of Israel, commanded, 'Go and draw to Mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men of the people of Naphtali and of the people of Zebulun?
7 I will draw to you, to the river Kishon, Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into your hand.'"
Niĩ nĩngũguucĩrĩria Sisera, mũnene wa mbũtũ cia ita cia Jabini, hamwe na ngaari ciake cia ita na thigari ciake nginya rũũĩ-inĩ rwa Kishoni, ndĩmũneane moko-inĩ maku.’”
8 Barak said to her, "If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go, for I do not know the day on which YHWH prospers his angel with me."
Nake Baraka akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Nĩngũthiĩ aakorwo nĩũgũtwarana hamwe na niĩ; no aakorwo ndũgũtwarana hamwe na niĩ-rĩ, o na niĩ ndigũthiĩ.”
9 She said, "I will surely go with you, but know that the journey that you take will not be for your honor; for YHWH will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman." Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
Nake Debora akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Nĩ wega, nĩngũtwarana nawe. No rĩrĩ, nĩ ũndũ wa ũrĩa ũroya ũhoro ũyũ-rĩ, gĩtĩĩo gĩtigatuĩka gĩaku, nĩgũkorwo Jehova nĩekũneana Sisera moko-inĩ ma mũndũ-wa-nja.” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Debora agĩtwarana na Baraka nginya Kadeshi,
10 Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali together to Kedesh; and there went up ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.
na kũu Baraka agĩĩta andũ a Zebuluni na a Nafitali. Andũ 10,000 makĩmũrũmĩrĩra, o na Debora agĩthiĩ hamwe nake.
11 Now Heber the Kenite had separated himself from the Kenites, even from the descendants of Hobab the brother-in-law of Moses, and had pitched his tent as far as the oak in Zaanannim, which is by Kedesh.
Na rĩrĩ, Heberi ũrĩa Mũkeni nĩeyamũrĩte agatigana na Akeni arĩa angĩ a rũciaro rwa Hobabu, mũthoni-we wa Musa, na akaamba hema yake mũtĩ-inĩ ũrĩa mũnene kũu Zaananimu gũkuhĩ na Kadeshi.
12 And it was reported to Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam had gone up to Mount Tabor.
Nao andũ makĩhe Sisera ũhoro, atĩ Baraka mũrũ wa Abinoamu nĩambatĩte agakinya Kĩrĩma gĩa Taboru.
13 Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people who were with him, from Harosheth Haggoyim, to the river Kishon.
Sisera agĩcookanĩrĩria ngaari ciake cia ita cia igera magana kenda, hamwe na andũ othe arĩa maarĩ hamwe nake, kuuma Haroshethu-Hagoyimu nginya Rũũĩ rwa Kishoni.
14 Deborah said to Barak, "Arise, for this is the day in which YHWH has delivered Sisera into your hand. Hasn't YHWH gone out before you?" So Barak went down from Mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
Nake Debora akĩĩra Baraka atĩrĩ, “Thiĩ! Ũyũ nĩguo mũthenya ũrĩa Jehova aneanĩte Sisera moko-inĩ maku. Githĩ Jehova tiwe ũthiĩte arĩ mbere yaku?” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Baraka agĩikũrũka oimĩte Kĩrĩma-inĩ gĩa Taboru, arũmĩrĩirwo nĩ andũ 10,000.
15 YHWH confused Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his army, with the edge of the sword before Barak; and Sisera got off from his chariot, and fled away on his feet.
16 But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the army, to Harosheth Haggoyim: and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword; there was not a man left.
No Baraka akĩingatithia ngaari icio cia ita o hamwe na mbũtũ cia ita nginya Haroshethu-Hagoyimu. Nacio thigari ciothe cia Sisera ikĩũragwo na rũhiũ rwa njora; na gũtirĩ mũndũ o na ũmwe watigarire.
17 However Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
18 Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, "Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; do not be afraid." He came in to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug.
Jaeli akiumagara agatũnge Sisera, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ũka, mwathi wakwa, toonya thĩinĩ. Ndũgetigĩre.” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio agĩtoonya hema thĩinĩ nake Jaeli akĩmũhumbĩra.
19 He said to her, "Please give me a little water to drink; for I am thirsty." She opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.
Sisera akiuga atĩrĩ, “Ndĩ mũnyootu, ndagũthaitha he maaĩ nyue.” Jaeli agĩkunũra mbũthũ ya iria, akĩmũhe anyue, agĩcooka akĩmũhumbĩra.
20 He said to her, "Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man comes and inquires of you, and says, 'Is there any man here?' that you shall say, 'No.'"
Sisera akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Rũgama mũrango-inĩ wa hema, na hangĩũka mũndũ akũũrie atĩrĩ, ‘Kũrĩ mũndũ ũrĩ gũkũ?’ uuge atĩrĩ, ‘Aca.’”
21 Then Jael Heber's wife took a tent peg, and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him, and struck the pin into his temples, and it pierced through into the ground; for he was in a deep sleep; so he died.
22 Look, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said to him, "Come, and I will show you the man whom you seek." He came to her; and look, Sisera lay dead, and the tent peg was in his temples.
Baraka agĩũka aingatithĩtie Sisera, nake Jaeli agĩthiĩ kũmũtũnga. Akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ũka, nĩngũkuonia mũndũ ũrĩa ũracaria.” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Baraka agĩtoonya hamwe na Jaeli, na agĩkora Sisera akomete thĩ arĩ mũkuũ nayo higĩ ĩmũtũrĩkanĩtie thikĩrĩrio.
23 So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.
Mũthenya ũcio-rĩ, nĩguo Ngai aatooririe Jabini, mũthamaki wa andũ a Kaanani, mbere ya andũ a Isiraeli.
24 The hand of the children of Israel prevailed more and more against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
Nakuo guoko kwa andũ a Isiraeli gũgĩkĩrĩrĩria kũgĩa na hinya igũrũ rĩa Jabini, mũthamaki wa andũ a Kaanani, nginya makĩmũniina biũ.
