< Job 23 >
Ningĩ Ayubu agĩcookia atĩrĩ:
2 "Even today my complaint is rebellious. His hand is heavy in spite of my groaning.
“O na ũmũthĩ gũteta gwakwa no kũrũrũ; guoko gwake nĩkũnditũhĩire o na ngĩcaayaga ũguo.
3 Oh that I knew where I might find him. That I might come even to his seat.
Naarĩ korwo nĩnjũũĩ kũrĩa ingĩmuona; Naarĩ korwo no hote gũthiĩ kũrĩa aikaraga!
4 I would set my cause in order before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
Ingĩĩyarĩrĩria harĩ we, njiyũrie kanua gakwa ihooto.
5 I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would tell me.
No nyende kũmenya ũrĩa angĩĩnjookeria, ndĩcũũranie ũrĩa angĩnjĩĩra.
6 Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No, but he would listen to me.
No anjũkĩrĩre na ũhoti wake mũnene? Aca, ndangĩhatĩrĩria na thitango.
7 There the upright might reason with him, so I should be delivered forever from my judge.
Hau-rĩ, mũndũ mũrũngĩrĩru no atware ciira wake mbere yake, na niĩ njohorithio kuuma kũrĩ mũnjiirithia nginya tene.
8 "If I go east, he is not there; if west, I can't find him;
“No rĩrĩ, ingĩthiĩ mwena wa irathĩro, we ndarĩ kuo; ingĩthiĩ mwena wa ithũĩro, ndiramuona.
9 He works to the north, but I can't see him. He turns south, but I can't catch a glimpse of him.
Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa arĩ wĩra-inĩ mwena wa gathigathini, ndimuonaga; rĩrĩa athiĩ mwena wa gũthini, ndimuonaga o na hanini.
10 But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I shall come forth like gold.
Nowe-rĩ, nĩooĩ njĩra ĩrĩa ngeragĩra; aarĩkia kũngeria, ngoima haana o ta thahabu.
11 My foot has held fast to his steps. I have kept his way, and not turned aside.
Magũrũ makwa moimĩte makinya make thuutha; nũmagĩrĩra njĩra yake itekwahũka na mwena.
12 I haven't gone back from the commandment of his lips. I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
Niĩ nditiganĩirie maathani ma mĩromo yake; njĩkĩrĩire ciugo cia kanua gake gũkĩra irio ciakwa cia o mũthenya.
13 But he stands alone, and who can oppose him? What his soul desires, even that he does.
“No rĩrĩ, arũgamaga arĩ o wiki; nũũ ũngĩhota kũregana nake? Ekaga o ũrĩa ekwenda.
14 For he performs that which is appointed for me. Many such things are with him.
Ahingagia ũndũ ũrĩa anduĩrĩire, na arĩ o na mĩbango mĩingĩ ta ĩyo anjigĩire.
15 Therefore I am terrified at his presence. When I consider, I am afraid of him.
Kĩu nĩkĩo gĩtũmĩte nyiitwo nĩ kĩmako ndĩ mbere yake; ndeciiria maũndũ macio mothe-rĩ, ngamwĩtigĩra.
16 For God has made my heart faint. Shaddai has terrified me.
Mũrungu nĩatũmĩte ngoro yakwa yũrwo nĩ hinya; ũcio Mwene-Hinya-Wothe nĩatũmĩte nyiitwo nĩ guoya.
17 Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither did he cover the thick darkness from my face.
No rĩrĩ, ndikirĩtio nĩ nduma, ĩĩ nduma ĩyo ndumanu ĩhumbĩrĩte ũthiũ wakwa.
