Jeremiah 52
1 Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
സിദെക്കീയാവ് രാജാവായപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഇരുപത്തിയൊന്നു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം പതിനൊന്നുവർഷം ജെറുശലേമിൽ വാണു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ പേര് ഹമൂതൽ എന്നായിരുന്നു. അവർ ലിബ്നാക്കാരനായ യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ മകളായിരുന്നു.
2 He did that which was evil in the sight of YHWH, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
യെഹോയാക്കീൻ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അദ്ദേഹവും യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ തിന്മ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.
3 For through the anger of YHWH it happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
യഹോവയുടെ കോപംനിമിത്തം ജെറുശലേമിനും യെഹൂദയ്ക്കും ഇതെല്ലാം വന്നുഭവിച്ചു; അവസാനം യഹോവ അവരെ തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്ന് തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ സിദെക്കീയാവ് ബാബേൽരാജാവിനോടു മത്സരിച്ചു.
4 It happened in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and camped against it; and they built forts against it round about.
അതിനാൽ സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിന്റെ ഒൻപതാമാണ്ടിൽ പത്താംമാസം പത്താംതീയതി ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ തന്റെ സകലസൈന്യവുമായി ജെറുശലേമിനെതിരേ വന്നു. അവർ നഗരത്തിനു വെളിയിൽ പാളയമടിച്ച് ചുറ്റും ഉപരോധം തീർത്തു.
5 So the city was besieged to the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
അങ്ങനെ സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവിന്റെ പതിനൊന്നാമാണ്ടുവരെയും നഗരം ഉപരോധത്തിലായിരുന്നു.
6 In the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.
നാലാംമാസം ഒൻപതാംതീയതി ആയപ്പോഴേക്കും പട്ടണത്തിലെ ജനങ്ങൾക്കു ഭക്ഷിക്കാൻ യാതൊന്നും ഇല്ലാത്തതരത്തിൽ ക്ഷാമം അതികഠിനമായി.
7 Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were against the city all around; ) and they went toward the Arabah.
ബാബേല്യർ നഗരം വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കെ, യെഹൂദ്യയിലെ സൈന്യം നഗരമതിൽ ഒരിടം പൊളിച്ചു. രാജാവും മുഴുവൻ സൈന്യവും രാത്രിയിൽത്തന്നെ രാജാവിന്റെ ഉദ്യാനത്തിനരികെ രണ്ടു മതിലുകൾക്കിടയിലുള്ള കവാടത്തിലൂടെ ഓടിപ്പോയി. അവർ അരാബയുടെ നേർക്കാണു പലായനംചെയ്തത്.
8 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
എന്നാൽ ബാബേൽസൈന്യം സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവിനെ പിൻതുടർന്നുചെന്ന് യെരീഹോസമതലത്തിൽവെച്ച് അദ്ദേഹത്തോടൊപ്പം എത്തി. പടയാളികൾ മുഴുവനും അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽനിന്നു വേർപെട്ട് ചിതറിപ്പോയിരുന്നു.
9 Then they took the king, and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; and he gave judgment on him.
അങ്ങനെ അദ്ദേഹം പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഹമാത്തുദേശത്തിലെ രിബ്ലയിൽ ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അവിടെവെച്ച് അദ്ദേഹം സിദെക്കീയാവിന് വിധി കൽപ്പിച്ചു.
10 The king of Babylon killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he killed also all the officials of Judah in Riblah.
ബാബേൽരാജാവ് സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കൺമുമ്പിൽവെച്ചു കൊന്നു. യെഹൂദ്യയിലെ സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും അയാൾ രിബ്ലയിൽവെച്ചു കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.
11 He put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison until the day of his death.
അതിനുശേഷം ബാബേൽരാജാവ് സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ കുത്തിപ്പൊട്ടിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തെ വെങ്കലംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ചങ്ങലയിൽ ബന്ധിച്ച് ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി. മരണപര്യന്തം അദ്ദേഹത്തെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ പാർപ്പിച്ചു.
12 Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, who stood before the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem:
ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ പത്തൊൻപതാം ആണ്ട്, അഞ്ചാംമാസം പത്താംതീയതി ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ അംഗരക്ഷകസേനയുടെ അധിപതിയായി സേവനം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്ന നെബൂസരദാൻ ജെറുശലേമിലേക്കു വന്നു.
13 and he burned the house of YHWH, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house, burned he with fire.
അദ്ദേഹം യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിനും രാജകൊട്ടാരത്തിനും ജെറുശലേമിലെ സകലവീടുകൾക്കും തീവെച്ചു. പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട സകലകെട്ടിടങ്ങളും അദ്ദേഹം ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.
14 All the army of the Chaldeans, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down all the walls of Jerusalem all around.
അംഗരക്ഷകസേനയുടെ അധിപതിയായ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കീഴിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ബാബേൽസൈന്യമെല്ലാംചേർന്ന് ജെറുശലേമിന്റെ ചുറ്റുമതിലെല്ലാം ഇടിച്ചുനിരത്തി.
15 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the poorest of the people, and the residue of the people who were left in the city, and those who fell away, who fell to the king of Babylon, and the residue of the multitude.
നഗരവാസികളിൽ ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന ജനത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും ദരിദ്രരിൽ ചിലരെയും ശില്പവേലക്കാരിൽ ശേഷിച്ചവരെയും ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ പക്ഷത്തേക്കു കൂറുമാറിയവരെയും അംഗരക്ഷകസേനയുടെ നായകനായ നെബൂസരദാൻ പ്രവാസികളാക്കി കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
16 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poorest of the land to be vineyard keepers and farmers.
എന്നാൽ നെബൂസരദാൻ, മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പുകളിലും വയലുകളിലും പണിചെയ്യുന്നതിനായി ദേശത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും ദരിദ്രരിൽ ചിലരെ വിട്ടിട്ടുപോയി.
17 The Chaldeans broke the pillars of bronze that were in the house of YHWH, and the bases and the bronze sea that were in the house of YHWH in pieces, and carried all their bronze to Babylon.
യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന വെങ്കലസ്തംഭങ്ങളും ചലിപ്പിക്കാവുന്ന പീഠങ്ങളും വെങ്കലംകൊണ്ടുള്ള വലിയ ജലസംഭരണിയും ബാബേല്യർ ഉടച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു. അതിന്റെ വെങ്കലം മുഴുവനും അവർ ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
18 They also took away the pots, the shovels, the snuffers, the basins, the spoons, and all the vessels of bronze with which they ministered.
ദൈവാലയശുശ്രൂഷയ്ക്ക് ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്ന കലങ്ങളും കോരികളും തിരികൾ വെടിപ്പാക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള കത്രികകളും കോരിത്തളിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള കുഴിയൻപാത്രങ്ങളും തളികകളും മറ്റെല്ലാ ഓട്ടുപകരണങ്ങളും അവർ കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
19 The captain of the guard took away the cups, the fire pans, the basins, the pots, the lampstands, the spoons, and the bowls; that which was of gold, in gold, and that which was of silver, in silver.
ക്ഷാളനപാത്രങ്ങളും ധൂപകലശങ്ങളും കോരിത്തളിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള കുഴിയൻപാത്രങ്ങളും കുടങ്ങളും വിളക്കുതണ്ടുകളും പാനീയയാഗത്തിന് ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്ന പാത്രങ്ങളും കോപ്പകളും തങ്കംകൊണ്ടോ വെള്ളികൊണ്ടോ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയവയെല്ലാം അംഗരക്ഷകസേനയുടെ അധിപൻ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോയി.
20 They took the two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve bronze bulls that were under the sea, and the stands which king Solomon had made for the house of YHWH. The bronze of all these vessels was without weight.
യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിനുവേണ്ടി ശലോമോൻരാജാവ് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന രണ്ടുസ്തംഭങ്ങളുടെയും ജലസംഭരണിയുടെയും അതിനടിയിലെ വെങ്കലംകൊണ്ടുള്ള പന്ത്രണ്ടു കാളകളുടെയും ചലിപ്പിക്കാവുന്ന പീഠങ്ങളുടെയും വെങ്കലം തൂക്കം തിട്ടപ്പെടുത്താൻ കഴിയാത്തതുപോലെ അത്ര അധികമായിരുന്നു.
21 As for the pillars, the height of the one pillar was eight feet seven inches; and a line of twenty feet eight inches encircled it; and its thickness was almost three inches. It was hollow.
ഓരോ സ്തംഭവും പതിനെട്ടുമുഴം ഉയരവും പന്ത്രണ്ടുമുഴം ചുറ്റളവും നാലു വിരൽപ്പാടു കനവും ഉള്ളതായിരുന്നു. അതു പൊള്ളയായിരുന്നു.
22 A capital of bronze was on it; and the height of the one capital was eight feet seven inches, with network and pomegranates on the capital all around, all of bronze: and the second pillar also had like these, and pomegranates.
ഒരു വെങ്കലസ്തംഭത്തിന്റെ തലയ്ക്കലുള്ള മകുടം അഞ്ചുമുഴം ഉയരമുള്ളതും ചുറ്റും വെങ്കലംകൊണ്ടുള്ള വലമണികളും മാതളനാരകപ്പഴങ്ങളുംകൊണ്ട് അലങ്കൃതവും ആയിരുന്നു. വലമണികളോടുകൂടിയ മറ്റേ സ്തംഭവും മാതളപ്പഴങ്ങൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെ ഇതുപോലെതന്നെ ആയിരുന്നു.
23 There were ninety-six pomegranates on the sides; all the pomegranates were one hundred on the network all around.
നാലു വശത്തുമായി തൊണ്ണൂറ്റിയാറു മാതളപ്പഴം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ചുറ്റുമുള്ള വലപ്പണിയിൽ മാതളപ്പഴങ്ങൾ ആകെ നൂറ് ആയിരുന്നു.
24 The captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold:
അംഗരക്ഷകസേനയുടെ നായകൻ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ സെരായാവെയും തൊട്ടടുത്ത പദവിയിലുള്ള പുരോഹിതനായ സെഫന്യാവിനെയും മൂന്നു വാതിൽകാവൽക്കാരെയും തടവുകാരായി പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയി.
25 and out of the city he took an officer who was set over the men of war; and seven men of those who saw the king's face, who were found in the city; and the scribe of the captain of the army, who mustered the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land, who were found in the midst of the city.
നഗരത്തിൽ അപ്പോഴും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നവരിൽനിന്നു യോദ്ധാക്കളുടെ മേൽവിചാരകനെയും രാജാവിന്റെ ഉപദേശകന്മാരായ ഏഴുപേരെയുംകൂടെ അദ്ദേഹം പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയി. ദേശത്തെ ജനങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ട് നിർബന്ധിതസൈനികസേവനം ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ മുഖ്യചുമതലക്കാരനായ ലേഖകനെയും നഗരത്തിൽ കാണപ്പെട്ട അറുപതു ഗ്രാമീണരെയുംകൂടെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയി.
26 Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.
സൈന്യാധിപനായ നെബൂസരദാൻ അവരെയെല്ലാം പിടിച്ച് രിബ്ലയിൽ ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
27 The king of Babylon struck them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away captive out of his land.
അവിടെ, ഹമാത്തുദേശത്തിലെ രിബ്ലയിൽവെച്ച് ബാബേൽരാജാവ് അവരുടെയെല്ലാം വധശിക്ഷ നടപ്പിലാക്കി. അങ്ങനെ യെഹൂദാ, തന്റെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നും അടിമത്തത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.
28 This is the people whom Nebuchadnezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand twenty-three Jews;
നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയവരുടെ എണ്ണം ഇവയാണ്: ഏഴാംവർഷത്തിൽ, 3,023 യെഹൂദർ;
29 in the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty-two persons;
നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ പതിനെട്ടാംവർഷത്തിൽ, ജെറുശലേമിൽനിന്ന് 832 പേർ;
30 in the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty-five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.
അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഇരുപത്തിമൂന്നാം വർഷത്തിൽ അംഗരക്ഷകസേനയുടെ അധിപതിയായ നെബൂസരദാൻ 745 യെഹൂദരെ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി. ഇങ്ങനെ ആകെ 4,600 പേർ.
31 It happened in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Awil-Marduk king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison;
യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോയാഖീന്റെ പ്രവാസത്തിന്റെ മുപ്പത്തിയേഴാമാണ്ടിൽ എവീൽ-മെരോദക്ക് ബാബേൽരാജാവായി. ആ വർഷം പന്ത്രണ്ടാംമാസം അദ്ദേഹം യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോയാഖീനെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽനിന്നു മോചിപ്പിച്ചു.
32 and he spoke kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon,
അദ്ദേഹം യെഹോയാഖീനോട് ദയാപൂർവം സംസാരിക്കുകയും തന്നോടുകൂടെ ബാബേലിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന മറ്റു രാജാക്കന്മാരെക്കാൾ കൂടുതൽ ബഹുമാന്യമായ ഒരു ഇരിപ്പിടം അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു നൽകുകയും ചെയ്തു.
33 and changed his prison garments. Jehoiachin ate bread before him continually all the days of his life:
അങ്ങനെ യെഹോയാഖീൻ തന്റെ കാരാഗൃഹവേഷം മാറ്റിക്കളയുകയും തന്റെ ആയുസ്സിന്റെ ശേഷിച്ചകാലം രാജാവിന്റെ മേശയിൽനിന്നു പതിവായി ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തുപോന്നു.
34 and for his allowance, there was a continual allowance given him by the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
യെഹോയാഖീൻ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്ന കാലംമുഴുവൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ജീവിതാവശ്യങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ട പണം ദിനംതോറും ക്രമമായി ബാബേൽരാജാവ് കൊടുത്തുപോന്നു. ഇത് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മരണംവരെ തുടർന്നുവന്നു.
