< Genesis 6 >

1 And it happened, when humankind began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them,
Abantu bwe beeyongera obungi ku nsi ne bazaalirwa abaana aboobuwala.
2 that God's sons saw that the daughters of humankind were beautiful, and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.
Abaana ba Katonda ne balaba ng’abawala abo balungi ne bawasa buli gwe beerondera.
3 And God said, "My Spirit will not remain in humankind forever, since he is indeed flesh; yet his days will be one hundred twenty years."
Awo Mukama n’agamba nti, “Omwoyo wange taawakanenga na muntu emirembe gyonna, kubanga muntu buntu; n’ennaku ze ziriba emyaka kikumi mu abiri.”
4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days (and also after that), when the sons of God had sexual relations with the daughters of humankind and had children by them. They were the mighty men who were from ancient times, famous men.
Mu nnaku ezo, abaana ba Katonda bwe beegatta n’abawala b’abantu abo, ne babazaalamu abaana; be Banefuli abaali abatutumufu ennyo era abalwanyi abeekitalo mu biseera ebyo era ne mu biro ebyaddirira.
5 And God saw that the wickedness of humankind was great on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Mukama n’alaba ng’ekibi ky’omuntu kiyinze nnyo ku nsi; nga buli ndowooza y’omutima gw’omuntu mbi njereere ebbanga lyonna.
6 And God was sorry that he had made humankind on the earth, and he was grieved in his heart.
Mukama n’anakuwala nnyo kubanga yatonda omuntu ku nsi, n’alumwa nnyo mu mutima gwe.
7 God said, "I will destroy humankind whom I have created from the face of the earth; humankind, along with animals, crawling creatures, and flying creatures of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them."
Awo Mukama n’agamba nti, “Ndiggya ku nsi omuntu gwe natonda, ndisaanyaawo omuntu, n’ensolo n’ebinyonyi, kubanga nejjusizza olw’okubitonda.”
8 But Noah found favor in the sight of God.
Kyokka ye Nuuwa n’alaba ekisa mu maaso ga Mukama.
9 These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time. Noah walked with God.
Bino bye bifa ku Nuuwa n’ab’omu nju ye: Nuuwa yali muntu mutuukirivu, nga taliiko kya kunenyezebwa mu bantu b’ekiseera kye, n’atambula ne Katonda.
10 Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Nuuwa yalina batabani be basatu: Seemu ne Kaamu ne Yafeesi.
11 The earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
Ensi yali nnyonoonefu mu maaso ga Katonda era ng’ejjudde eddalu.
12 God saw the earth, and look, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
Katonda n’alaba ensi, era laba, ng’eyonoonese mu kweyisa kwayo kubanga buli muntu yenna yali kyetwala nga tewakyali mutuukirivu.
13 And God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. And look, I will destroy them with the earth.
Katonda kwe kugamba Nuuwa nti, “Mmaliridde okuzikiriza buli muntu, kubanga ensi ejjudde eddalu; laba, nzija kubazikiriza mbamalewo ku nsi.
14 Make a box-shaped ship of gopher wood. You are to make rooms in the ship, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.
Naye ggwe Nuuwa weekolere eryato mu muti gofeeri, okolemu ebisenge, olibikke n’envumbo munda ne kungulu.
15 And this is how you are to make it. The length of the ship is to be five hundred seventeen feet, its breadth eighty-six feet, and its height fifty-two feet.
Bw’oti bw’oba olikola: obuwanvu bwalyo mita kikumi mu ana, n’obugazi mita amakumi abiri mu ssatu, n’obugulumivu mita kkumi na ssatu n’ekitundu.
16 And you are to make a roof in the ship, and you are to finish it twenty-one inches above. And you are to set the door of the ship in its side. You are to make it with lower, second, and third levels.
Bw’oliba olizimba, waggulu oteekangayo akasolya nga kabika kimu kyakubiri ekya mita. Omulyango gwalyo oguteekanga mu mbiriizi zaalyo. Okolanga eryato lya kalinassatu, ery’emyaliiro: ogwa wansi n’ogwokubiri, n’ogwokusatu.
17 And as for me, look, I am bringing a flood of waters on the earth, to destroy all flesh having the breath of life from under the sky. Everything that is on the earth will die.
Ndireeta amataba ku nsi, okuzikiriza buli kiramu, ekissa omukka, ekiri wansi w’eggulu; buli ekiri ku nsi kya kufa.
18 But I will establish my covenant with you. You are to come into the ship, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives with you.
Naye ndikola endagaano naawe. Oliyingira mu lyato, ggwe, ne mukazi wo, ne batabani bo, ne baka batabani bo wamu naawe.
19 Of every living thing of all flesh, you are to bring two of every sort into the ship, to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.
Oliyingira mu lyato na buli kiramu ekirina omubiri; oliyingiza bibiri bibiri ekisajja n’ekikazi bibeere biramu naawe.
20 Of the flying creatures after their kind, of the animals after their kind, and of every crawling creature of the ground after their kind, two of every sort shall come to you, to keep them alive.
Ku binyonyi ebya buli ngeri, ne ku nsolo eza buli ngeri, na buli ekyewalula ekya buli ngeri, bibiri bibiri ebya buli ngeri birijja gy’oli, bibeere biramu.
21 And as for you, take for yourself all the kinds of food that are eaten, and gather it to yourself; and it will be food for you, and for them."
Era twala buli ngeri ya mmere eriibwa, ogitereke; eriba mmere yo n’ebiramu byo.”
22 Thus Noah did. According to all that God commanded him, so he did.
Nuuwa n’akola byonna nga Katonda bwe yamulagira.
